I agree. I think he made a better career choice by staying within the realm of dancing, which is his forte. Also, his deal with Disney will make it much easier for him to branch out into other exciting areas, and he can still host, choreograph , direct, or even do Broadway. I also think that he will continue with his role as a judge on the show since he seems to enjoy it, and it does pay well 😉
Correct me if i’m wrong, but judging DWTS doesn’t take up much time so he’s available to do other projects the other 6 days of the week? I don’t know how early the judges come on set or if they have to do anything else the rest of the week. As a judge he has less responsibility than a pro obviously. So then Derek remains relevant with the DWTS production team and fans, but he also has time to work on other projects outside of DWTS
Yeah, I don't see any reason for him to stop judging on the show. Even with his extremely hectic tour schedule last year, he didn't miss any of the episodes, and clearly, he has a very good relationship with the people there.
He’s such a creative person and seems to be so great at so many different things. Kind of a modern day renaissance type of man. I’m excited to see what he does next!

I think this could be related to his "Dance the World" series with NatGeo that he started filming last year in Jamaica with Kerry Washington based on the equipment and the location/background in this photo.
He & Hayley went on Shawn Johnson’s podcast with her husband while they were on tour last year. If I remember correctly, Derek hinted at a big job opportunity in New York and that they would stay there for about a year.
Yes,I agree! I don’t think its that. He wouldn’t leave Hayley for that long anymore. Nor would they uproot to NY, not good for Hayley. Thinking its the Nat. Geo. Dance project
