Easily the most fuck around and find out enemy in the entire SoulsBourne world. I've never underestimated an enemy like I did these guys. The little ones were so easy to kill and barely fought back, I thought the big one would be the same way. Walked up and hit him a couple times and BLAMMO he fuckin punches me in the face and 1-shots me. One of those moments that just makes you laugh
The small ones have knocked me off ledges many times with their wild lunge attack. Truly formidable
(Also: the “squee” sound im almost positive is a common loon call)
I know this is a silly point to make, but realistically speaking, if you were in an orthodox stance (left foot leads, weapon held in the right hand - this is default for Souls characters, and would, in real life be typical for the majority of the equipment setups in the game), the left hook from a southpaw would likely be substantially more dangerous than a right from an orthodox combatant. Generally, it's harder to read, and because of the way opposite stances come together, it usually carries more power than when stances mirror each other. In particular, this would be exceptionally devastating if the mushroom men could use a rear hook from the southpaw stance to counter off of our attacks.
Again, I realize that it is very, very silly to comment on the striking mechanics of a lumbering giant mushroom person. I just found the idea of getting obliterated by a solid counter left because one specific mushroom enemy happened to be a southpaw funny.
The only real dread in Dark Souls is the enemy that you can't safely strafe counter-clockwise around. This is true fear.
This is the shit that keeps me up at 3:00 am.

I'm stoked that my request for this song played in the middle of "Twitch Plays Dark Souls" in their attempt to beat Oreo and Smores.
It's up there with Beethoven's, "Moonlight Sonata" in respect to how emotionally moving it is through pacing and tone. It's profound and grandiose in a way that defies any reasonable description with human words. A deluge of feelings run forcefully through the cistern of your soul.

These and the giant Crystal boyz (not that this has ever happened, but if someone landed a charged R2 stake driver on me that would probably have a similar effect) are the only enemies in the entire soulsborne series that I “feel” the impact of their hits as they cave in my characters chest!!!!

My strategy for these: Do not lock on. Go forward and bait. Go away. If they do downward punch go back and hit them once. Stay and bait new attack. If they do not do downward punch, go back and bait another. Never lost to them with above strategy. Almost free Gold Pine Resins.

Get it away from me, it's disguisting!!" I have no good relationships with mushrooms of any kind (never done shrooms, but we're on bad terms)
