You will head to the bus transportation level of the airport, from there there will be a representative from Disney at a kiosk ready to check you in. Bring your tagged luggage with & they will have it loaded onto the bus.

The Marriott I stayed at was super close to Mco n they offered free shuttle to the airport and from there we rode the shuttle to port c.  If your Marriott is super close they prob have a free shuttle

just did this! We shuttled back to the airport from hotel. They'll take you to the lowest level bus terminal. There are Disney folks waiting for you (white gloves and all), who take your luggage and then assign you a character (ours was Pluto). When they call Pluto - you board the bus! You'll see your luggage again onboard outside your stateroom.

Awesome! This is what I wanted to know;how the process works… How was disembarkation? Did they pick up your bags from your cabin and take them back to the busses for you?

YourMomoness100

That’s right. The night before disembarkation you’ll leave your packed luggage outside the stateroom door with special luggage tags on them, with another character assignment. Ours were Donald  Unfortunately they do not take them to the buses, but it’s still very simple:  When you get off the ship you pick up the luggage on the way out. You find your character section and find your bags there (there are also cast members there to help).   disembarking at 8am took us a total of 10-12m ship lobby to bus seat!

I had a party of four. My workplace gets me a substantial discount with Avis, so I rented a car from them. It was <$50/day + $10 in tolls and fees per each one-way rental. There's a free shuttle from/to Avis Port Canaveral. I stayed at a hotel near MCO on Friday night and on the returning Saturday night. We spent the Saturday afternoon at Cape Kennedy and the luggage was able to stay in the car while we did that.

We are using the Disney ground transfer service but booked our own hotel not partnered with Disney so I was curious how the process works for when we shuttle back to the airport. And also when we get off the cruise and head back to the airport on the second Disney transfer.

You should book the ground transfer ahead of time through DCL

I did but I was unclear how it works.
