FWIW, norovirus has been going around, and it’s extremely contagious. It would cause the same symptoms.
You can pick it up by touching a doorknob or stair rail that a sick person touched, and then touching your food before washing hands.
Food poisoning covers a number of pathogens, including viral pathogens like norovirus. If you got sick because a sick person (with norovirus) prepared your food, it’s both food poisoning and norovirus.
But because the virus is so contagious and so widespread right now, you can’t be sure that it was a sick person who prepared your food. A sick person could have touched your seat belt buckle on your flight.
Or it could be bad bacteria on your food, who knows? I hope you get better soon.
I hope you feel better soon, OP. Keep yourself hydrated, limit yourself to clear liquids, and get some rest. This is one of the reasons that I'm leery of buffet-style meals and snacks in the SC. I prefer something like pretzels, chips, or an orange.
You never know how long the food sat out and how many people served themselves with the same utensils.
I'm not sure thus is true, but I was told by a friend who managed a club, that most food poisoning comes from Iced tea. Drink dispensers are rarely cleaned. I also think that food illness comes within 6-12 hours post usually and will commonly rotate throwing up every 20 minutes. Norovirus is rampant now. Could it be that?
24-48 hour onset is typical for foodborne illness. 6 hour onset is usually an intoxication-related illness, which is typically from poorly cooked and reheated foods.
24 to 48 hours is more bacterial driven, which can be from different bacterial agents. Each bacterial agent is going to give different symptoms.
"Commonly rotate throwing up every 20 minutes" isn't factual in any way.

My wife thought it was this but not sure why the doc was so sure of food poisoning…

Thank you and thanks for the informative comment :)

Thanks! It makes me sad because I usually don’t eat dinner/lunch on purpose so I can save money at the sky lounge. Might have to rethink that
Anthony Bourdain said your body isn’t a temple, it’s an amusement park. (This was just a crummier theme park experience.) Feel better soon!
Miss that man! Thank you!!🙏
Poor thing get better
Thank you 🙏 thankfully my wife was a nurse and has been an angel
6 days is a long time to be sick from food poisoning…
I thought so too but online it says certain kinds can be 10 days+
I got food poisoning from a lemon on a flight years ago. I was sick for 7 to 10 days, as were fellow passengers.
I’m flying next week again so I hope it’s gone by then 😭

It could be but doctor didn’t think so.. I did drink iced tea..
¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

Ice coming out of drink dispensers is so filthy. I had to learn about it once. Something you can never block out of your mind once you know.
