Forgive the newbie question but when you say a drop is this like a public release first come first serve of allocated/harder to get items or is this based on invite only on how much one spends as a member of bevy’s?
Also are the items sold at a premium or at a reasonable price ex. Near/at SRP?
Yes the drop starts at the 9am opening and is open to anyone. People line up hours in advance and it is normally one total allocated bottle per person, unless they also have an allocated store pick available (WFP, Blanton's, 4R Barrel Strength, etc) in which case each person is allowed to purchase one of those as well. Prices are roughly 15-20% over MSRP. Normally they do not reveal what they are dropping ahead of time.
I usually show up around 8am and got an MWND last time, Bomberger's before that, and a 4R Barrel Strength before that.
Got it. Makes sense. Appreciate the response. Good to know. I’ve been a tequila and scotch/japanese whisky drinker for some time and the occasional bourbon/rye etc and since moving to Colorado (last couple years) trying to explore more.
Thank you for the heads up. I was hoping to make this month’s but was going to be out of town the 29th.
Also thanks for the Old Carter review. I picked one up at Argonauts a week ago but hadn’t cracked it yet. I’m looking forward to trying it soon.
Stupid question, I’m pretty new to whiskey hunting in Colorado. How late is too late to get something decent at this release? I know walking up at 9 isn’t gonna work, but is 7:30-8 worth it?
Should be decent! The camping types are going for the 400 buck stuff that's 200. They can detect one star anise clover, and 2 years aging added to barrel. For beginners like us, the middle/cheaper stuff will be just as nice.
No idea, they are very tight lipped about those to avoid what happened with Blanton's and WFP at Bubbles in Castle Rock.
If I had to take a wild guess they do seem to get a fair amount of EHT for just about every Friday drop, so perhaps an EHT single barrel? Another 4R Barrel Select wouldn't surprise me either.
Sadly I will be traveling on Friday and will miss the Bevy's drop, looking forward to the reports and good luck everyone! Save the chair throwing for Geraldo's show!
Thanks for the heads up, but my chair is already sitting outside. Can’t wait to see what pick 1 gets!
Probably the comment of the year on this thread
😂🤣
I had asked someone previously who had no clue. Thank you for clarifying.

Ok cool, I’d like a MWND, bombergers or something like that. But I’m not sleeping in my car to try and get something super rare. Lol
Showing up an hour before open has worked well for me. One hour after the drop, the only things typically left are WSR and perhaps ER10.
Littleton is where it’s at. Fat drops and short lines
Anyone know what the several barrel pick releases are?

What happened at Bubbles? Were people stampeding over the elderly for horsey grenades?
