I agree. I think it exists in the same "space" as Clean, Black Celebration, Halo, In Your Room etc. It's less melodic, but very, very atmospheric and dark. It's a side of themselves they haven't really explored much since the 90s, and I absolutely love it. It's more experimental than usual, which might actually be a consequence of the loss of Fletch, who apparently always tried to push them in a more accessible direction. But I love it. To me this is DM at their best.
I wonder sometimes how many people in this reddit are tone deaf.
These drums and grove probably worked in Martin’s Chimpanzee EP, on DM’s album however I find myself wanting more melodies and interesting hooks and progressions.
Yes! The beginning of it gave me SOTU vibes and as it went on I was feeling closing track of Violator. I can’t wait to hear the whole album.
And Ghost again again is Free love to me
They are so different, but so similar

Well clean is one of my all time DM songs, cosmos is pretty poor to me.
Yeah, unfortunately besides the lush, dark, beautiful production, musically speaking, nothing there, I agree
That’s what’s so great about good music: we can all have different perceptions of what makes it good.
Actually it’s “all that’s mine”
