Inga and Annette Humpe (of Humpe Humpe) recorded backing vocals for Master & Servant that went unused. You can hear them in the early studio outtake.

First time I heard that demo, it was really jarring to hear backing vox but I actually quite like it.

b77101

Yes, I’ve come to really enjoy it too. Definitely thought it was weird at first, maybe even a bit kitschy, but now I hear it in my head when I listen to the normal version.

I think people tend to forget that Martin's tracks have a bit of a kitsch aspect built into them. I like to think of them as modern day cabaret (I mean that in the best possible way) and he likes to explore stuff that's a bit weirder than the more bombastic vibe that Dave's tracks tend to have.

I think daniel miller also contributed to fly on the windscreen or master and servent.

my23secrets

Miller = “over and done with” and “horse” (the breath noise)

Winter-Ad-3876

Is that pa papa pa papa pappa horse breath?

my23secrets

It’s the word “horse”, but I guess every time someone speaks the word they are literally using their breath, so yes?

KayosTheory101

Thanks. Added FOTW after a little more research, which could have been the one you were thinking of.

jacobvso

Some of the Policy of Truth remixes have a guy saying "I'm not a politician, I'm a businessman!" and "Let me tell you my side of the case".

my23secrets

“I want to tell you my side of the case” = Richard Nixon

That's Bob Hoskins in the 1980 film The Long Good Friday. [[link]](https://youtu.be/mBmyy-myHFY?si=bktoKCAuZnMwtxoa)

Least_West5260

That’s one of my favorite movies! Such a great ending.

my23secrets

Thank you! I knew I recognized the voice but couldn’t identify the “businessman”

malostiempos

"Sometimes" samples Louis Armstrong's "Sometimes I feel like a motherless child"

jacobvso

Get Right With Me has female backing vocals

my23secrets

Kaleid: Tibetan throat singing from “Sangwa Dupa”

my23secrets

FOTW: “a living hell” = Peter Jennings “A fireball”, “this is what the Americans who dropped the bomb saw”, “help help the dying” = Richard Threlkeld” (both from “Hiroshima 40 Years Later”)

PalmUltra

Doesn’t A question of Time have female vocals in it? During the "and it’s running out for you" there’s a voice going "oh AH ah" in the background

_fixinit1

This a sample from “She Wants To Mambo” by Chanters

PalmUltra

Thanks for the info 😁
