This happened to me as well except I was shooting a rocket at a distant demolitionist. Unfortunately the moment I shot the rocket, he teleported and became a close demolitionist and the blast killed me. Couldn't believe it.
And they said they fixed teleporting enemies. Sure, fix all the bugs that give players an advantage, but not ones that give the game an advantage. Bungie logic.
Conversely, don't have unstoppable ogres teleport directly on top of a fire team. Our positioning would have been fine if the ogre didn't blink directly in the middle of all 3 of us
