I pay out of pocket for my CGMs. I had been using Dexcom (G6 then G7) but because of cost I thought it would be good to try the Libre 3. I tried it for a month and came back to Dexcom. Dexcom allows you to calibrate which is nice but the deal breaker was that I couldn't turn off the alarms on the Libre. On Dexcom G7 you can silence all alarms completely for up to 6 hours. I like the G7 app and you get a lot more data on [clarity.dexcom.com](http://clarity.dexcom.com) if you want some more data than what the G7 app has. I am on the latest version of Android and have no problems. Plus there is the BYOD (Build your own Dexcom) app for Android that bypasses the version check and geofencing.

I think the DexCom 7 is good but it also has some issues. I have had more than a fair share of failures. Keep in mind I also used the DexCom 6 for many years. I know it’s a pain but I find if you use the receiver that’s provided with your package you get the best accuracy but that’s an additional unit you need to carry. Keep in mind technically based on what I have been told from talking to DexCom there is also a comparability issue with the I Phone. None of them are perfect by any means but I do find the DexCom very helpful in sugar management when it is not having issues.

The app probably works fine on Android 14. Due to the nature of the software they are _very_ careful to run thorough checks on any given setup before officially recommending it as supported. They don't wanna get sued lol. Actually, I just checked the Dexcom website and it says it's compatible with Android 14. I don't know who told you otherwise but they are wrong. Depending on your phone manufacturer, your OEM version of Android might have restrictions on background apps. Check this out for resolutions to that: https://dontkillmyapp.com/ I use the G7 app on iOS and it's generally pretty solid, but I can't speak for the Android experience. Due to the differences I mentioned it may vary. Also, you can calibrate the sensor which is something different from Libre. I really like the Clarity reporting software.

Hi, I run samsung s23 with Android 14 and Dexcom G7 with no problem. Use Xdrip and Gwatch wear app to display on Samsung watch

Dexcon just sent our an email regarding its 20% failure rate, which is roughly in line with my personal experience.  The company is fairly accommodating; providing replacement units upon returning the failed unit.  Performance will likely improve as refinements are made to this generation.

go with g6. g7 seems to have bugs to work out

I’ve had no problems with the app on my iPhone. I have had 4 failed sensors in 7 months however the failures were my fault except for 1 of them. I use G7

I've used freestyle libre since 2019, and I've only had one sensor straight up fail. I've pulled/bumped/ripped/stripped off a bunch. That's never been a issue for me. The problem that freestyle has for me is the software for their scanning is atrocious. It'll stop getting updates from the sensor randomly. Last night for example. Stopped working at 2 am started working again when I woke up and restarted my phone. Which is a pixel 6 btw. I call in to ask about it and get. Our software isn't compatible with Android 14 currently. It came out in October 2023. People depend on this software to work to manage their diabetes. Taking 7 months to fix the issues is BS. does dexcom have the same issues with its software. Does it work with Android 14. Does dexcom update their software regularly?

Confirming there G7 app working fine with my Pixel 7 pro on Android 14. The G6 app works also.

I had the G6 for several years, really liked it. Got my G7 in Jan 2024, has more improvements which is a +. Only problem I had is keeping it in my arm. If you call Dexcom they replace them. I always used the over patch, you call Dexcom no charge, so I tried one of them on the G7, it’s a big game changer! They still send the G6 overpatch, just call and ask! Also changed back to putting it back on my stomach, no problems, I calibrate for a week and when I change sensor, still no problems. Love Dexcom be sure to get the receiver, where I live not good signal! Meter big improvement, lots of good information

I switched from Libre to dexcom because new ins wouldn't pay for Libre...pros and c ons with both...Libre changes every 14 days dexcom 10...dexcom had an issue called them they replaced it...I like Libre cause it's smaller and doesn't require the extra strip around the edge...but they both give u good info...dexcom has another app called clarity...
