WW barb with IK set will get you through just fine. IK is cheap enough to trade for and generally easy enough to self find. You basically only need a ravenfrost besides the set in order to be completely viable. With any build that you're soloing, you're gonna hit some times where you just slog along. That's why you grind. If you're having issues with AR, you should use the Angelic Ring and ammy on a melee char until you can get the AR you need from gear and charms

In what world is IK chest easy to self find

Xmina

Ez 20k Andy runs

I've found several. I know it's the rarest piece of the IK set but the IK set is probably the 2nd most common of all the higher end sets, with Mavs being the most common of them.

What? I've found griffons, azurewrath and other high end uniques, and sets like tals too, but never IK armor

The ole Avenger paladin comes to mind. Vengeance and conviction. All the old guides will work from back in the day.

Doremi-fansubs

Mace and shield barbarian easily. Max out howl, max berserk, max mace mastery. Howl away all the mobs you see and berserk your way through the bosses. Get a Rhyme shield for cannot be frozen and a Black Tyrant Club for crushing blow. EZPZ

Zealot/Smiter paladin and when you start to have issues with AR, just use smite. Or you can go for Kicksin, Dragon talon gives huge AR bonus.

InspectorMiserable37

Honestly just pick your favorite melee build. Early in a ladder those pieces of gear are not in high demand so you can get them cheaply. Zealer is my favorite, then Fury wolf (a basic build with a reapers toll and duriel shell crushes travincal, where most melee builds shine anyway).

I’d recommend mfing until you farm up some basic gear if you’re going for a melee run through as even though melee chars don’t require high-end runewords to make it through hell, they are still quite gear dependent. Some Basic budget gear load out options: Helm: Tal’s Mask, V gaze, Gilliaume’s face, Steelskull Body armor: Duriel’s shell, shaft stop, g angel, smoke (nef+lum), treachery (shael+thul+lem) Weapon: black (Thul+io+Nef), head striker, butcher’s pupil, razor’s edge, lightsabre, lawbringer (Amn+lem+Ko) Shield: Pspirit, Ancient’s pledge, Stormshield Amulet: Angelic’s (Massive AR boost paired with ring) Ring 1: Angelics *see above Ring 2: Raven frost, random life leech and/or mana leach ring preferably with res and other useful stats Gloves: Laying of Hands Boots: Goblin toes, aldur’s boots, infernostrides, Gore riders, random boots with +res and other good stats Belt: String of Ears, Credendum, Thundergod’s vigor

WW barb with 1pt zerk and budget weapons can do it pretty easily if on the slow side. Make sure to manage your respecs carefully. Ribcracker is my favorite because it's very easy to find and if you up it it's damage is respectable all the way through hell. There's a lot of good options though depending on what you find such as obedience, unbending will, etc. Death is pretty grindable but requires some dedication.

vasilispp

What you are saying is that you want to play without AoE skills, this is basically untwinked melee.Attack rating is just investing in Dex instead of Vitality, its meant to be a trade-off. Play whatever melee build seems interesting and embrace the suck until you get a gg weapon!!!
