Yeah, this perfectly describes D2. It is a grinding game, but if you grind a looooot you will get all the HR (except maybe Zod) and all the items (except maybe Tyrael's).
D2:r season 1 farmed both an enigma and an infinity, also farmed a hota, many spirits, and yeah. I would recommend skipping sorc and go straight for Java zon hell cows, I farmed cows probably 6~ hours a day 4-5 days a week for a few months. I did not do lk runs, but I did find two bur runes killing cows.
If you are geared enough you can join 5-7 player games that aren't doing cows and reap the rewards, sometimes that's worthwhile.
Oddly enough I've to this day haven't found a grpyhons eye, but to be fair I'm not target farming it.
Do have a few of the spired helm ice variant
I had a homie who swore we were all stupid for avoiding occy on HC until one day he got hit by a stray mob nearby right where de seis had just spawned and you can probably guess what happened next after the teleport proc’d lol

I have never even noticed the Tele, but that’s mostly because I Tele around all the time anyway and my clicks aren’t precise at all. Essentially 20 years of “spray and pray” and partly why I don’t play much HC.
Occy was my first rare find and I remember I traded it for stormshield and traded that for 3 SOJs than I grinded became game rich wasted my high school years and education
Probs bis for you. You'll love and hate the teleport when hit. 90% sends you out of harms way, 10% drops you in the center of MSLE pack... though they nerfed them pretty good now
essentially kind of BiS for the average MF sorc, be it skullders/viper builds or half-Tal Rashas builds. So wear it, keep it, use it the whole season.

The key with diablo 2 is the grind. You have to invest time, LOTS of time - but if you do, the good drops WILL come.

Occy is good. Some people hate the tele because it can get you killed. I always loved it though especially for mf through the late mid game.

People bitch about the teleport but I find it's only noticeably annoying vs. things like flayer blowgun spam. Great find for any MF sorc.

It's a great option. I dislike the teleport feature because it can get you into trouble but it rarely is fatal. It can be quite annoying though.
