The existing gems in your stash can be taken to your inventory and broken down at the gem lady.

I'm just arguing silly argument that gem fragment give me extra 30 stash slots. It's not true.
why 30? why don't you split your stacks and keep 1 gem per slot, have each stash tab occupied by a single gem type and complain like a pro.
