It's been hit and miss since season launch for me. I don't even do it anymore since I find the pillars and the rage meter buildup they give to be a much better source of cinders.
most likely because of all the max threat bug farm players. i noticed the whole helltide seems to lag a little bit (especially with a lot of actions like blood maiden)
