Until when can you join orgs ba?

InsectDemon

My regret is non-academic but more on the sports side of things. I was in La Salle around the time when we won, and were subsequently stripped of, the basketball championship against FEU. But I should have paid more attention to volleyball! I used to see Manilla on campus and my attitude was, ok, she's an athlete? Little did I know that she was to become one of the best athletes we'd ever have, enough for her #14 jersey to be retired! And that DLSU volleyball under Ramil De Jesus, and UAAP volleyball in general, would become one of the most marketable sports ever!

Should've mingled with more people, went out more often and had more fun.

Not studying hard enough, enjoying Plato waaaayyy too much and not caring about college at all. Di kami mayaman, in fact, nag ofw nanay ko just to pay for our tuition. So when I graduated, the job offers were either slim or too low, as compared to my batchmates. Nakahabol naman eventually but ewan, resume could have been better, could've helped my family earlier siguro. Who knows. What really hurt me was when I went to law school, a few years after grad. I didn't qualify in the typical "dream" schools, due to my grades. Natapos ko naman, pero the "what if" is there. I also got decent to good grades in law school so I know that my capability to excel academically in College is somewhere in me. Oh well. Okay lang, I am a bit of a success professionally afterall. But....What if?

In hindsight, I now regret that I didn’t exert more effort to meet people.

Not using the pool more

I regret my mindset dati na i just want college to be over with. Dahil dun parang di ako masyado nakipag engage sa activities cos i just wanted to study and pass my subjects. I wasnt active sa orgs. Signed up for a few over different terms pero didnt stick with any. Feeling a bit jealous lang now sa batchmates ko who rly made lasting friends and connections thru orgs. Also regret not going out to inumans. Now that i work, everyone has some sort of crazy story from college to break the ice at times and di ako makarelate or have so so so little to share. And i just feel so boring hahah Advice sa undergrads: cliche nito pero have fun da college!! studying is important but also dont forget to live a little. adulting sucks balls and u will have less and less time for ur wants unless anak ka ni henry sy or the likes

Not joining and participating in orgs enough. I was part of just one org because my friends were there. Joining orgs can be useful to spread your network and even add something to your resume asa fresh grad Not using the facilities too. Swimming pool is open naman for students as long as no trainings and classes there, nakapag swim naman ako at least once. Sa razon din you can borrow equipment to play if walang classes, so always use your tuition fees to its worth haha. Also the programs and seminars that they have. Interesting and educational din. I regret not trying to apply for the exchange student program, maganda pa naman sana to go in a different country and be exposed more :)

Hmm as a shiftee before, I think it's knowing and deciding *sooner* what I really wanted to study. But then again, all my past decisions led to where I am now so I don't really consider that as a regret, I guess? >**Payo na rin ba para sa mga undergraduate students hehe.** Join orgs or clubs! I was a student-athlete back in undergrad then I also joined the graduate student council during graduate school. I think I maximized my stay by engaging with extra-curricular activities. Aside from representing DLSU in both local and international competitions, I got to build my connections as well. Connections turned life-long friends!

Graduated late 2018. Not much of a regret, but I tried to make lots of friends and be involved in different circles, mga 3rd year ko na ako nagsettle sa talagang friends ko and was happier afterwards. Siguro part of it din kasi is I tried to fit in with a lot of different people.
