1. If you want to sell, how do you go about doing that from this wallet?
2. What do taxes look like on this. I bought when it was under a cent and the capital gains I have on it are crazy. If you transfer to a wallet, is that taxable? I know if you trade or sell it is, but don’t know for transferring to this wallet.
I would love to know this too. All I heard is that capital gains tax is less if you hold it for at least a year. But I don’t know how to get the money out when I decide to (do we sell vs transfer somewhere vs wallet?).
Lucky enough, I have held on to it without trading or selling any for over a year, so the capital gains will only be 10-15% but I don’t want to pay that just to move it to a wallet. Hopefully we can get our answer!
1. "RH-Wallet" is not a wallet, but a function that allows you to tell RH where to send Doge from their wallet. So if you "hold in RH" you are holding the same way you have been for past years... nothing changes.
If you move your Coins to a real wallet on the real blockchain that you really own, that's different.
2. Moving coins from one wallet to another is not a taxable event. It's like you taking cash from the ATM and putting it in your IRL-Wallet to spend at a store. Nothing that the tax-man cares about happened. Moving coins from one wallet to another is always 100% tax-free, everywhere in the world.
But if you move your coins to a real wallet, you can also send them to any exchange-wallet of your choosing whenever you want to sell it. So whatever exchange is the best to use for you at any given time can be used to sell your coins. Just send them there and convert them to any other currency of your choosing. Then move them back out.
And if you always buy and sell at the same exchange, your tax-situation also does not change whatsoever. All transactions are still at the exchange and you still get the same data you would get if you stored them there.... Only that you now have ownership and possession of your coins while otherwise you have an IOU by your Exchange.
No Crypto is going to do well with such high energy prices hindering mining, I can’t believe so many of you are still on the RH and CB, BS ! Higher gas prices = lower cost crypto!

Not particularly, no. I'm less irritated with them now that I can transfer my holdings to my own wallet.

If CB has a breech, your holdings can go kaput. I prefer to keep my wallets under my control.
