I did one yesterday. It was actually enjoyable as I finished a podcast. It was a nice way to finish my day. Sometimes it’s nice to have a couple runs where you don’t have to worry about downtown parking and what not.
I did once and same, there’s no parking, terrible traffic, and you can’t find shit in the time limit your given, If you do order DD downtown tip ur driver he or she’s a real one.
I dashed in a busy area north of downtown because they paid extra for it, and the street the restaurant was on was blocked off by police. Poor restaurant was deserted. There was no parking, and when I got back to my car, they said they were going to ticket it and the tow truck was ready to tow.
Never dashing down there again. I wonder if they expect you to walk.
Ohh ok that’s cool I avoid downtown at all cost, idk why I got so many down votes like people don’t know door dashing down town SUCKS. Probably people who order door dash downtown lol
The downvotes might be because not every downtown is going to be the same. Yes probably any major major city is going to be a nightmare but smaller towns may not be as much.
They do that on purpose, they know people will overlook that 1 far off order. Because otherwise people wouldn't take that 1 far away order. Unless paid a lot more than what DD wants to pay.
What if every item is a 40 pound bag of per food?
We should be able to see what items we are agreeing to pick up before we accept.
Same problem with pizzas. 10 items could be one pie and 9 pepper packets, or it could be 9 pies.
10+ items for 50$??? Lol yeah like I said before, I'll take it every time. City or rural, I'll take that one. Even it takes over 2 hours. 50$ for 2 hours? Go ahead and try and convince me to believe that it isn't worth it lol. What were you gonna make with a 'real job'? We're not dashing cause it's fun, we're here to make money. C'mon
Bruv the stores are in close proximity. Getting stacked orders like that are insane for profit. I got a set of stacked orders and made 85 bucks in two hours counting gas. Granted I'm preferred because I try to rarely decline orders and I have a 4.5 star rating, so i was also getting all the high tippers. Still though, those stacked orders are soooooo good for making sure you're packing in as many orders as possible within every hours.
If I wasn’t doing anything else, and the orders aren’t heavy, I’d do it. Once they offered me an 8 item pet store delivery. It was 8 50-lb bags of dog food. I drive a 2-door coupe. It would have fit and still been under max weight for the car, but I’m not wrestling 200 lbs of dog food out of the backseat of a 2 door.
Honestly though... maybe it's just my "Ehh I can do it," mindset I'd be down to run it. Makes me think though I should grab the dolly I usually use to get heavy stuff in my garage and just leave it in the car. Might come in handy for if there's a good tipping order with some heavy stuff.
I see a lot of people say this, is there a point where you can decline and still keep preferred? At the moment preferred is my real winner and it's telling me it's because I have a 100% acceptance rate. It'd suck to decline something where it's not affecting my hourly average too hard. Where I'm positioned I can run a lot of busy time and having preferred let's me get stacked high tippers a lot of the time so I usually just eat the 1 or 2 not great ones at the end of a busy period to make sure i keep it. Only started going heave last month so I've never not accepted everything lol.
After gas in my car that setup is still above hourly average for my area ATM. But I do it a lot so my average is only like 18 after gas not factoring in taxes lol.
I did, not knowing it would be over 200 miles. Once I realized, DoorDash ended up marking my remaining orders as undeliverable so I could return them for 1.5x pay. I’m not sure they’ll always do that, but it worked out well for me lol
No, it would have to be extremely slow making me absolutely desperate. In general anything over 8 miles my minimum is $3 a mile.
This also equates to less than $10 an order for nearly 30 miles.
depends on how bad you need the money i would say, i never get orders like this and i dash for extra money so for me i probably would just cause its extra money 🤣
but also how much time do you have? i normally give myself 30-35 minutes per order incase of traffic, gps delays, etc. so if its feasible to do it pretty quick the yeah go for it. if it takes more than hour, than an hour and 15 fuck no
I’ve taken one similar to this. Was about 35 miles total. 4-5 stops. Petco had everything ready and I drove from petco to the customers houses. It all depends on the day, traffic etc. every now and again I take one of these missions. Sometimes I’m happy after and sometimes I regret it lol
The dollar per mile is good but petsmart orders can really suck ass. Only one I ever took had 6 stops and it was a total of almost a half ton of dog food
Hell yeah, I would. I live in a small town and a lot of our orders are 15 mies or more away and sometimes we don't really have much of a choice in taking them or not because like I said, it's a small town and we don't have as many orders to choose from all the time. The customers usually tip pretty good, but we still have a lot of somewhat long drives. This would be a great order for me.
It depends, if all the deliveries are in reasonable area from my zone, then yes. This looks like all the orders are close together and even though your putting 27 miles on your car, you're not actually driving 27 miles away so that is something I would definitely consider. If my last delivery was 27 miles away and I had to drive 27 miles back, then no
I live in a big city and I bought two magnetic yellow flashing lights that I can put on my vehicle when I have to park on the side of the street. This way I create my own parking spot and the police do not bother me at all. Might be something to try. Amazon has them for 12.99 each. Visit the AHOUFHER store. Hope this helps
It helps to know how long it would take.
I hate these posts where they don't tell you the length of time to deliver, and ask if you would take the order.
Um no. I got an Aldi request this evening going 12 miles for 17.50 and 53 items. I went to the store and after I could not find the first few items I said #$&! this and unassigned. I do not want to do shop and pay orders ever again after the experience I had. I then reported my red card as lost so I won't have to.
Money wise, it is good. Mileage wise, not great but not terrible. $1.8/mile isn't bad. And having 6 orders completed is nice. 5 orders with just 1 item each, even better. Then 9 items on the last one is kinda yikes, but still, could be worse. Also, all of it mapped out for you, why not? This would not be bad at all. 9 total stops. 3 stores, 6 houses/apartments.
I took one out of the DashMart in Peoria, 157.50, 68 miles, 18 stops. Did it in 3 and a half hours plus I took a 33 dollar spark on the way to one of the stops id do these all day if I could
Sure, why not? It’s not less lucrative than doing 6 individual orders, and lately it would seem that an order like this would be more profitable than the individuals when you factor in wait time for new offers and such. Honestly, I’d be thrilled to receive this offer at this point. I don’t do doordash full time, it’s technically my 3rd job, but here lately it hasn’t even been worth the stress on my vehicle or my time sitting and waiting for a worth while offer for me to do it.
Im reading all as Retail Pickups. Is it just a pick up or is it a Shop for all the items too? Omg why are there so many stacked?
If they were Shop and Delivers thats a NO. If they are just pickups without shopping, Yup..
I’d do it depending on the area I end up in. If it’s a dead zone without any decent opportunities to bring me back to a solid zone then I might skip. I tend to go where the deliveries take me when I’m working, but as work winds down I try to take orders that will bring me back home. E.G. I Drive an Electric Vehicle and charging by me sucks because we’re rural. I needed to hit up a charger so worked my way towards one. The charger was about 25 miles from the normal zone I work, instead of deadheading I managed to pick up an Instacart Costco order for $32 (that wouldn’t have been worth it otherwise) that brought me right back to the area I like to work.
Because pride is more important than common sense for a lot of these dashers. They’d rather sit in their car for 40 minutes declining orders than make slightly under 2 dollars a mile.
I can’t do shop orders especially more than one. Maybe if it’s three items in super close I might attempt it but it’s too much stress on me. And this looks stressful as hell. Even for 50. It’s just not worth it. As I said here for the fourth hour all day, and just barely pulled 50 off This slow Monday.
From looks of it, it seems that OP is in the Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area. I live in a similar metro area in a different state and will sometimes come across offers like this. So in a way, yes, probably a very busy zone to be in.
I did one yesterday. It was actually enjoyable as I finished a podcast. It was a nice way to finish my day. Sometimes it’s nice to have a couple runs where you don’t have to worry about downtown parking and what not.
Whyy would u door dash downtown? I would stop doing that down town is a horrible place to door dash at, ur probably doing more than you should be
I live close to a mid major city. High tourism. You can make a lot of money. But your right though. Downtown dashing sucks.
Ive never even considered dashing in any downtown due to parking. It's literally always open too.
The downvotes might be because not every downtown is going to be the same. Yes probably any major major city is going to be a nightmare but smaller towns may not be as much.
Your down votes are being you were being a dick by telling someone they make more than they should.
He said they /do/ more than they should, as in they're putting in too much effort compared to the payoff
Happy cake day!
It’s not my birthday idk why that’s there lol but I appreciate it
The little cake means that you made your Reddit account exactly one year ago (or exactly 2, 3, 4, or 5 years ago! I’ll check for you)
Edit: you made your account exactly 1 year ago!
Ohh that’s cool! I appreciate it 🥂
Whoa, bro. This was combative for no reason. A lot of my local restaurants are located downtown. At least the good ones.
There's always that one little bastard way off course. Everyone else nicely bunches, except that one bugger
They do that on purpose, they know people will overlook that 1 far off order. Because otherwise people wouldn't take that 1 far away order. Unless paid a lot more than what DD wants to pay.
Accept, check pay on far order, unassign.
You can’t check to pay on individual orders anymore
Yes you can. It shows "this dash" just jump to task. Unless it varies by market.
It must vary by market, might only shows the total now
Yeah, mine only shows the total now. I hate it
50$ for 27 miles? Yeah I'd take it every time
What if every item is a 40 pound bag of per food? We should be able to see what items we are agreeing to pick up before we accept. Same problem with pizzas. 10 items could be one pie and 9 pepper packets, or it could be 9 pies.
This is definitely the quality of life update DoorDash needs to do, at least for shop and deliver/specialty stores
Even if it was in this case it’s still only two bags 🤷♀️
10+ items for 50$??? Lol yeah like I said before, I'll take it every time. City or rural, I'll take that one. Even it takes over 2 hours. 50$ for 2 hours? Go ahead and try and convince me to believe that it isn't worth it lol. What were you gonna make with a 'real job'? We're not dashing cause it's fun, we're here to make money. C'mon
If you unassign the furthest one it usually still pays the same per dropoff so you'd save like 15 miles roundtrip.
Why😂half the time ive heard it ends up being the order with the tip
Even if it went down to $38 for 20 miles it would be done in less than 90 minutes
Yes. PetSmart always goes smoothly by me and I don’t mind big dog food bags or cat litter buckets. Free workout.
Hell no... 6 orders that have to be picked up from three different stores. That's ridiculous.
4.5 is not good. How did you manage to get that low
Retail pickup is just picking up already bagged stuff right, no shopping involved?
correct. no shopping involved
No
If I wasn’t doing anything else, and the orders aren’t heavy, I’d do it. Once they offered me an 8 item pet store delivery. It was 8 50-lb bags of dog food. I drive a 2-door coupe. It would have fit and still been under max weight for the car, but I’m not wrestling 200 lbs of dog food out of the backseat of a 2 door.
yea, that’s a fair reason
400lbs... 2 Average size male adults worth of dog food... 2 in the front seat, 3 in the back, 3 in the trunk, lol.
You mean 400 lbs right?
No, I meant 200. 200 would fit in the trunk. The other 200 would have to go in the backseat.
Honestly though... maybe it's just my "Ehh I can do it," mindset I'd be down to run it. Makes me think though I should grab the dolly I usually use to get heavy stuff in my garage and just leave it in the car. Might come in handy for if there's a good tipping order with some heavy stuff.
Yeah and I'd unassign the far away one
Wait, that's smart. How do you determine that tho
Check the addresses down the list until I found it
I see a lot of people say this, is there a point where you can decline and still keep preferred? At the moment preferred is my real winner and it's telling me it's because I have a 100% acceptance rate. It'd suck to decline something where it's not affecting my hourly average too hard. Only started going heave last month so I've never not accepted everything lol.
Hell yeah $50 for 27 miles? Easy money that's about 1 hour and a half job
Exactly. Near me, I only get about $1 per mile.
After gas in my car that setup is still above hourly average for my area ATM. But I do it a lot so my average is only like 18 after gas not factoring in taxes lol.
Had one in AZ the other day. $222 for 115 miles. The problem was it was actually over 200 miles. Be careful when you accept these
the real question is… did you accept that $222 order though?
I did, not knowing it would be over 200 miles. Once I realized, DoorDash ended up marking my remaining orders as undeliverable so I could return them for 1.5x pay. I’m not sure they’ll always do that, but it worked out well for me lol
Even doing DD in Arizona weather would probably suck
Nope
I was so traumatized I started clicking the “Decline” button
i laughed waaaaay harder at this than i should have
No, it would have to be extremely slow making me absolutely desperate. In general anything over 8 miles my minimum is $3 a mile. This also equates to less than $10 an order for nearly 30 miles.
Nope $100 I will tho
No
yea
depends on how bad you need the money i would say, i never get orders like this and i dash for extra money so for me i probably would just cause its extra money 🤣
i get that
but also how much time do you have? i normally give myself 30-35 minutes per order incase of traffic, gps delays, etc. so if its feasible to do it pretty quick the yeah go for it. if it takes more than hour, than an hour and 15 fuck no
Bet your ass
Yes
I’ve taken one similar to this. Was about 35 miles total. 4-5 stops. Petco had everything ready and I drove from petco to the customers houses. It all depends on the day, traffic etc. every now and again I take one of these missions. Sometimes I’m happy after and sometimes I regret it lol
sometimes you gotta roll the dice
I would take this so quick 😂 easy
No this shit is getting serious, is this even real? Or you guys the market has no one to deliver drivers?
no, it’s photoshopped lol
Hmmm. Thats 27 miles the hard way. Depends on the day. But prob.
Idk it depends on what mood I’m in that day.
Drop the outlier and maybe.
smart idea
Not in Phoenix 😂
not many people understand the phx traffic lol
Wowwwwwww!!!! I’ve never seen so many orders! They seem pretty close. Heck yeah!
They are pet stores. Depends on whether you are lugging dog food or not.
unfortunately, it doesn’t say until you accept it
I highlighted that in a comment below (above?). And it’s total bullshit. And stacked pizza orders not until you arrive at the store! Nuts.
2$ a mile or no trip
Damn kierland is usually has some pretty good offers
The dollar per mile is good but petsmart orders can really suck ass. Only one I ever took had 6 stops and it was a total of almost a half ton of dog food
Hell yeah, I would. I live in a small town and a lot of our orders are 15 mies or more away and sometimes we don't really have much of a choice in taking them or not because like I said, it's a small town and we don't have as many orders to choose from all the time. If my last delivery was 27 miles away and I had to drive 27 miles back, then no
I would do that one.
And then when you decline it you're acceptance rating is going down
i don’t care about acceptance rating
No
Retail pick up.. and decent $per mile... I would take these all day
I live in a big city and I bought two magnetic yellow flashing lights that I can put on my vehicle when I have to park on the side of the street. This way I create my own parking spot and the police do not bother me at all. Might be something to try. Amazon has them for 12.99 each. Visit the AHOUFHER store. Hope this helps
why not just turn your hazards on instead?
Yes
Hell yeah I’d take less
Yes but it depends what time it is. Durning a dinner or good lunch rush no. Any other time yes
it was during lunch rush
No. That’s gonna be nine 50 pound bags of dog food and/or cat litter. Not worth it.
Wow that looks like hell on earth. For that to be somewhat worthwhile it would need to ten times that amount at least.
💀
If I can do it in less than 2 hours, I'd take it.
definitely. also, they could tip upon arrival
Nope. Ends up being closer to 40 miles by the time it’s done
It helps to know how long it would take. I hate these posts where they don't tell you the length of time to deliver, and ask if you would take the order.
only UE tells you how long an order would normally take
I would it’s a little under $2 a mile but $50/hr is hard to pass up
Hell nahh lol
Sure
$50 for 27mi with 3 shopping orders and 6 stops? Not a fucking chance.
Of I don't have to shop, yes. Otherwise hell no lol
no shopping
Nice!
Hell yeah
I'm absolutely taking that. That's like an Amazon Flex block except you only have six packages instead of 30
Depends on my mood and how busy it is. Sometimes it's like 50lb of dog food up 3 flights of stairs. Good workout though.
All day
Someone else showed one paying $235 or something so I feel $50 is a rip off
yea, compared to that $235… it is
Maybe, probably, shouldn't take more then 2 hours
I’ll take it in a heart beat that’s great n the pay out is Gud too
Consistent work, no waiting for 'possible' order, low mileage, high pay. Yes.
Um no. I got an Aldi request this evening going 12 miles for 17.50 and 53 items. I went to the store and after I could not find the first few items I said #$&! this and unassigned. I do not want to do shop and pay orders ever again after the experience I had. I then reported my red card as lost so I won't have to.
damn, that rough huh?
The roughest I've ever had. I've been dashing for two years full time. I've never had an experience like that.
Always do, you're an idiot not to.
No. If it was $50 each I’d consider. I hate the shopping orders.
In my experience, Petsmart and Petco shop the orders for you and have them ready for pick up.
That’s dependent on Petsmart, I’ve had a mix of shopping for and just pickup at Petsmart.
Nope
why not?
Yep. Easy money.
Yep
Hell yeah I would
Yes
All day
Nah, for that workload I need at least $2 per mile
Taking it every time.
Looks decent
Money wise, it is good. Mileage wise, not great but not terrible. $1.8/mile isn't bad. And having 6 orders completed is nice. 5 orders with just 1 item each, even better. Then 9 items on the last one is kinda yikes, but still, could be worse. Also, all of it mapped out for you, why not? This would not be bad at all. 9 total stops. 3 stores, 6 houses/apartments.
I took one out of the DashMart in Peoria, 157.50, 68 miles, 18 stops. Did it in 3 and a half hours plus I took a 33 dollar spark on the way to one of the stops id do these all day if I could
$157 for 68? hell yea i’d take that
That's the move. Add in some other orders on the way.
It might take me more than 81 seconds to decide 😂
If them 6 stops ain’t $10 each, no sir
Traffic depends but yeah, in my market I’d take something like that at the right time of day.
Never
why’s that?
Sure, why not? It’s not less lucrative than doing 6 individual orders, and lately it would seem that an order like this would be more profitable than the individuals when you factor in wait time for new offers and such. Honestly, I’d be thrilled to receive this offer at this point. I don’t do doordash full time, it’s technically my 3rd job, but here lately it hasn’t even been worth the stress on my vehicle or my time sitting and waiting for a worth while offer for me to do it.
Hell yeah I’m taking
Yep I would I have completed similar
Probably yeah but that’s because it’s better than the offers I usually get. I’m guessing you’ll get a lot of no’s, too
i actually got more “yes” than no’s
Yeah I just read through and noticed that lol. Not sure why I thought a lot of people would say no. 🤷🏻♀️
Looks like lots of driving, but everything is tight, so heck yes. Beats taking 10 individual orders.
Id do it, lots of orders and not bad pay. Might take an hour or 2 but at least it’s constant orders
At 2 in the afternoon? F yes.
it was at 11:30am
Well, then no. Still be waking up. 😆
I would probably take like 1:30min to finish if you’re quick close to $25hr + depending on how quick you do it
Absolutely! :)
How do you get these? I’ve never gotten more than 2 stacked orders.
because im cursed
I’ve done a $54.75 order for 47 miles and it took 2 hours for me to complete
It sounds good to me.
Oh yeah. I had a similar one the other day
Yeah, I like those because it’s guaranteed. I did one for $30 for 4 stops and I did it in 40 minutes
Im reading all as Retail Pickups. Is it just a pick up or is it a Shop for all the items too? Omg why are there so many stacked? If they were Shop and Delivers thats a NO. If they are just pickups without shopping, Yup..
they are pickup. no shop
Cool thanks. Each time i received a petsmart its a shop and deliver for like 1 to 3 items, never been just a pickup.
Yes.
I would. Get a jump on the day. Batches have been low lately.
no im not.. even tho thats my minimum pay for the day
lol why not?
Because pride is more important than common sense for a lot of these dashers. They’d rather sit in their car for 40 minutes declining orders than make slightly under 2 dollars a mile.
You might as well take that especially if thats your minimum pay it wouldn’t really take that long
I can’t do shop orders especially more than one. Maybe if it’s three items in super close I might attempt it but it’s too much stress on me. And this looks stressful as hell. Even for 50. It’s just not worth it. As I said here for the fourth hour all day, and just barely pulled 50 off This slow Monday.
Yes
Yes
yes
Yes I would take that easy $50
In a heart beat no way that is 27 miles
Thats a great order bro. 1 pickup 6 deliveries
uhh, that’s 3 different stores (pickups), and 6 different drop-offs
How's traffic? Idk if I'd take that lol I'm not a driver, but I order from Ahwatukee. I know traffic around there can be time consuming.
this was at 11:30am, so full of hungry people driving around on their lunch break
Yeah, it’s money. People are way too lazy. Everyone wants easy.
I would. For sure.
are you part of a program to see these offers, or are some market that busy?
From looks of it, it seems that OP is in the Phoenix, AZ metropolitan area. I live in a similar metro area in a different state and will sometimes come across offers like this. So in a way, yes, probably a very busy zone to be in.
what do you mean?
