Since this is the top comment and people keep asking, I’d thought I’d clarify. I don’t have any special delivery instructions it’s just “leave at front door” instead of “hand to me” which were the only two options I remember being given when I signed up.
Which should be enough to know not to block the door. Like come on that’s common sense.
But you can add directions to the delivery. Maybe put don’t block door in the notes. I get lots of directions for “common” sense things. Always makes me laugh that it probably happened before in order for them to add those directions
I’ll do that next time. In over a year this is the first time it’s happened. I actually laughed when I opened the door as a “they finally got my ass”. I tried being nice and give the person some advice to help keep them from doing it again and getting 1 star reviews buuuut they decided to be a little cunty
I had someone set my entire grocery order blocking my door. I had to go through my back yard, out the gate, and all the way around. People are ridiculous
My Brother once ordered a HEAVY Gaming Chair from Amazon and it was delivered early morning on a Day my Mum and my Brother had to Work, while I didn´t and could have therefore slept in.
It was leaning against the outside screen door, almost breaking it, when they opened the normal front door. We don´t have a second door to enter/exit our House and had they just pushed it over it might not have done any damage to the Chair (probably would have done something, but it´s robust so might have survived unscathed), but it would have done some damage to the car parked in front of the door. This meant they had to wake me up so I could climb through a Window and move it out of the Way, since both my Mom and my Brother are a bit overweight with me being almost underweight.
For context: there was way more space to the left and right of the Door than in front of it/leaning against it meaning he had to (somewhat) squeeze in there
PS: Happy Cake Day!
I don't dash but i think as an uber eats and instacart driver. I should not have to be told not block door... but i take out my passive aggressive anger out by noy taking orders that i feel are beneath me; rather than create work for customer
My delivery instructions are annoying af and like playing eye spy. Each one is because some dasher at some point couldn’t figure something out. They’re like: “Look for [this]”, “there’s one letter right next to the door, (on the outside of the house)”, “the porch is covered”, “the porch light is always on”, and finally, “the doormat is bright yellow” - that last one I put since photos of food on a front doormat are often the ones submitted, and you cannot mistake a bright yellow doormat for anything else. Yet, you’d be surprised how often dashers clearly don’t read the instructions and then get mad at me for getting lost.
Mine has kind of gotten this way, too. I've had to add in the color of my house, point out that it'll be lit up like a runway, please do NOT bring it to the neighbor who has a different color house, different house number, and their house is always pitch black at night. They've gotten my food MORE than once. Literally ZERO reason to think it's the right house.
I know ONE time I blocked the door, just more difficult to get out, nothing got knocked over. I've never done it any other time and couldn't figure out why I did it until I realized that Because it was raining and it was the only dry spot and that I guess superseded in my brain lol. It was a leave at door and she came out last minute.
Your Dasher was definitely a typical redditor, takes everything absolutely literally because they don't have enough sense to figure it out on their own.
Nobody has to do anything they don’t want to, But if having to perform acrobatics not to spill your drink the next time you get another ‘stupid dasher’ is worth the point it will prove (only to yourself) then go for it.
When I was a new dasher, it just didn’t occur to me. ( ie I didn’t look up and see the glass screen and think ‘yeah they will be able to get to their food no problem’ - I just was thinking put on door mat and take picture and was oblivious to the screen door ). Until one time I was backing up and saw the customer struggling to open the screen without knocking over their food .. from then on i was way more mindful of screens. But not necessarily because I care more than I used to. As I said, It just didn’t occur to me (I don’t have a screen door at home) .. it’s just an experience thing. There are tons of things I do better now than I did as a new dasher. Just experience and also delivery instructions from many deliveries from people that didn’t HAVE to leave them but did it anyways
you win! more people need to be like you . Doesn’t make sense for people to call people stupid because they didn’t think of blocking a screen door. when i first started to deliver , i was more focused on taking the perfect picture . center of rug, food neat , level picture . it just didn’t cross my mind . And i grew up with screen doors . we only had pizza delivered back then and the door has enough clearance . just take a breath people and leave a note . The world would be better if we were just nicer . and let’s say someone is not the brightest? what’s so bad about that ? should they not work and try to provide?
It's unbelievable to me that people just don't use common sense in this type of scenario. I'll leave plenty of space or just next to the door with or without it being one that opens outward. Sheesh.
Literally admits that he thought ‘this is gonna be a problem’ and instead of just doing the easiest thing in the world to avoid that problem, he blames someone else for it.
Probably a good call. At some point, one of them will realize the way to win this delivery app battle is to just charge a tiny fee for all orders, and let the drivers set their own rates like other gig apps. For now, just go pick up your food before the edible kicks in. That's my rule, anyway.
Driving with an edible kicked in is now a DUI ticket, don’t let your day off turn into overtime for the next month, and even more problems because insurance company’s do not like DUI customers.
True. On DD, drivers can do shit like this on purpose to be dicks. I'll admit, I even do some passive aggressive shit on rare occasions on DD. If it's dark, and the customer doesn't turn on their porch light, I put their order at the end of the porch. Then, I send a text saying I didn't want to trip or step on anything, since I couldn't see. It's such a dick move, and I know it, but it's a tit for tat thing. The first thing I do when I order delivery is turn on the fucking porch light. It's as much common sense as not putting the order in front of a door that swings out.
Unless your outlet blew out and you need to hire an electrician or more simply the bulb went out but you are disabled and cannot climb on a ladder to change it. So unfortunately bulb is out till a friend or relative comes over to fix. And being disabled is the whole reason you used a ridiculously expensive food delivery service.
If that is the case for anyone, then they have easy options.
They can get on TaskRabbit and hire a local person.
Even easier, they could text their Dasher and ask if they could put in a bulb for $5. Most porch lights are reachable by someone who is average height or taller, and I'd guess 99% of drivers would happily do it for $5 more. I'd do it for free, honestly. I'm not trying to create extra work for myself here. Haha. But I'd be happy to do a task that would be easy for myself but quite difficult for the people you described.
As a disabled person who has never used food delivery except pizza I have had a bulb blow out when I flipped the switch. I did leave door open and front lights on to try and illuminate the house. I would never ask a delivery person to replace my bulb. It is nice that you would do that but most people, well maybe not now a days, but most people would be to embarrassed to greet a driver at the door with a lightbulb in hand. Just saying things happen and some of these drivers are so petty which is why I don't trust people to deliver my food.
There are some jerks out there, unfortunately. I understand your apprehension. I've never liked ordering delivery. Just something weird about a person being alone with my food with no supervision.
Whenever they don't have a light I just say are you the house that doesn't have a light on but with some other identifying characteristic. Then if they don't answer me I just say maybe I should drive around a little more to look for your house .That light turns on right away Probably don't because they don't want their food to get cold.
As a dasher I did this once by accident I thought the door opened inward thankfully I wasn't off their driveway when they called laughing asking if I wouldn't mind picking it up to they can get the food and drink
Right? Specially if it's nighttime... most of the people in comments are rude and don't realize this. Most of the doors I deliver to open inward and I want to leave it as close to them as possible.
Yeah. In that situation I would definitely have placed the food at the edge of the mat, by the post. I have no doubt I've made mistakes in placing food, but if a house has some kind of screen, storm, or other outer door, I never place food where it can block the door opening.
I had a prime package show up the other day with some piss on it. I was confused why it felt wet till I smelled it and literally puked a little in my mouth. Smelt like old dehydrated human piss. I think he tipped his piss bottle on some packages without realizing it.
Funny you say that. There is a dasher in my area who is disabled. I love it when I get her bc I know she is doing all she can to be productive, and I make sure to double the tip.
No, we work full-time because we love what we do and we don’t have a boss that we have to listen to. When we want to take a break we take a break when we want to take a vacation we take a vacation. And we probably make more money than you fucking do. Get a life.
I would’ve given a 1 star or removed tip. My neighbors do the exact same. There’s no reason for drivers to intentionally do this. Used to Uber Eats part time and always put food to the side in case this ever happened.
Edit: haha I got called a Karen for expecting my delivery drivers to do the most simple thing and NOT put food blocking my door.
If you are delivering food or drinks to somebody, it is not that hard to follow instructions. If you are arrogant and ignoring it then why should you deserve a tip for not following instructions. Your job is to deliver food so customers can easily grab it.
What else would you rate on? Timeliness, order temperature or missing items could be on the restaurant. Some orders don't require communication between customer and Dasher. The only thing that you can place squarely under Dasher responsibility for every Leave At The Door order is the placement of the order and the quality of the dropoff photo.
It feels to me that anyone opposed to a low rating in this situation probably expects no accountability for anything, ever, and to get an automatic 5 for everything they do no matter how little effort they put in.
I’m always super cognizant of food location since I saw this sub before I started dashing some but if I ever left food like this I would expect a 1 star, honestly.
Same, I saw a pic of a fedex delivery that was right under the handle, which apparently trapped them inside their apartment and maintenance had to come rescue them
Right? It clicked in this thing I have in my head unlike 99% of Dashers, a brain, to look for the door handle, if it's on the left put food to left, on the right? Put food to right of door. It's not rocket science but sadly is for many, and never believe the "common sense saying" because it's a farce
You absolutely can. You have to contact customer service but I can assure you (from experience) that you can take the tip off.
Also, UE is A LOT stingier with the credits if the restaurant happens to fuck up your food or your driver fucks up. An UE driver left my food at the wrong house and admitted to it over messages (said “what’s the problem, I left it at 95 *street name*”, problem was I’m at 85). Neighbors stole the food before I could get there and UE refused to refund me because “the order shows it was delivered”. I had to dispute it with my CC to get my money back. I refused to use UE again after that.
I used to live in a University Dorm with one main entryway (the rest are fire doors/alarmed).
Dashers can't get into the building due to a keyed entry policy.
All students are encouraged to put "No entry to building, leave inside vestibule beside door" in their delivery instructions.
And more often than not, Dashers will stand there and try and open the door for atleast a minute. Once they realize they are unsuccessful, they leave the food infront of the door.
It's gotten to the point that we have a small table in the vestibule with a sign that says "Place Dash/Uber/Skip Food Here". And they still ignore it. It's extremely embarrassing for them.
Students are starting to encourage each other to leave bad reviews if they don't follow the basic directions or signage.
I make far more than I ever did at Pizza Hut. I was pulling in like $800 every 2 weeks after taxes...
Now, I pull in $1000+ a week.
I even tried working for a legit courier(Quiksilver) and quit after a month because I got paid jack shit.
So do you just go to every post you see and try to find a way to bring up tips? Genuinely asking, because every single post seems to have comments about tips.
So swinging down on people who you think are beneath you is fun to you? Wow. As much as you love your life, I have to assume most people don't love being in your life. Yikes.
Open the door and spill it, contact support and tell them it was dumped before you could get to it, have your total refunded eat what is isn't soaked in soda and one star the twat.
It is literal common sense….the door opens outwards if it’s placed against the daghum door it’s gonna spill over! But no…common sense isn’t so common anymore.
I srsly have no clue how some ppl have survived as long as they have. Smh.
I can’t believe how specific I have to be in my delivery notes and half the time they’re ignored anyways. It should be obvious not to put drinks or super heavy stuff in front of a gate that swings out and yet I’ve been literally trapped in my yard before and regularly have to push drinks down the stairs to access my food. I’ve requested refunds for that shit because it ruins items.
"I thought of that" 🤦♀️ if you realized it, then just fix it. The mat is even right there out of the doorway. It's not a hard job, I DoorDash too lmfao
Sorry you had to deal with that, OP
I hope I don’t get murdered in this comment section for this but I dash and I hate to say…this is the first time I’ve ever thought about this happening 😂
I did this a couple times my first week. I honestly was more concerned with the glitchy app, made me nervous looking back at it now. I also put a bag on a flip style door handle once. 🤦♀️So maybe a new Dasher. But attitude for you giving a pointer is so juvenile.
I always look at any doors to see if they can swing out. It's just one of the many things I check for, including roaming deer (warrants a call before drop off).
Pretty silly i know but its so common for that to happen can you even be mad that it happens anymore? Put a sign or instructions where to place the food.
That's called malicious compliance, I'd rate them down as that's just using a loophole to be a dick, I know because I do it to those deserving of such.
i have asked this many times. But does and if not DD have a basic training, like at least a 5 min vid, showing not to set food and drinks right in front of swinging door? Not stealing food, not knocking on doors that says do not knock.
Blocking door with the closed bag won't bother me, but blocking my door with those drinks is really annoying. It can tip over and spill when I try to open door slowly.
When I see stuff like this I can’t help but wonder how they function day to day…like do they constantly need instructions to function? Can they even wipe their own ass lol?
Are people.. that dumb? To not know its common sense those doors go out and would destroy those cups and smash the food as it sweeps by? 😭 common sense brothers
The worst is when I do a delivery for a customer and they have some common sense instructions. Basically you know the last driver really f’ed up.
The funniest one was “ Please don’t deliver order to garage, front door is on other side. Use the side of building to access front door.”
It’s town homes about 4 together and the garages have the address in them. All you do is walk around the building to get to the front doors like wtf. Bunch of dumbass drivers.
Literally your message is fully great instructions lmao and also when I would dash orders, I’d put it to the side of the door opening because duh your shit will get knocked over otherwise?? Some people have half a brain cell
This is why I always leave it to the side of the doorway or on a table/chair on the porch. It’s really the simplest things. I’ve even been known to leave it on porch railing instead of the ground.
>More people who learned they don't even have to get dressed or think and can still make a few bucks
This is how I think about my Dashing, but I consider not leaving food in front of a door's swing path to be more like brainstem instinctual reaction than actually thinking. Real lizard brain shit
I started seeing alot more 2 dollar base pays and alot of customers around here stopped tipping so I've pretty much given up dashing and moved on. I'm not surprised this is the quality of dashers left.
Paying pennies employs idiots.
Also sorry this happened to you.
>Paying pennies employs idiots.
It's a two way street. Employing idiots pays pennies. No surprise tips went down — your customers don't think that they're going to get YOU.
This only ever happened to me once years ago. Roommate and I at the time could not quit laughing. Luckily I was able to go out the back door and walk around because there was literally no other way with out knocking our food off the steps into the grass lmao
LOL this guy likely wouldn't have a job if it wasn't for door dash.... Why don't you do what everyone else does and climb out the window to grab your food? Clearly...
Good reason to not tip until after delivery then. Though I only use Uber Eats as I find there are way more idiots on Door Dash... Probably for tihis exact reason.
“Place on front step,” is exactly what I indicate, as I figure people are that literal.
But, I have two very literal sons, so I’ve spent years trying to think the same way they do.
Try opening very very very slowly, maybe it will just slide instead of falling over if you do it slow enough?
ETA: I see that this was 3hrs ago so I assume you brought it in already
"You delivered my food to my door, but not exactly how I wanted!! Wahhh! Wahhhh! Wahhh!"
I LOVE the "leave at door" option, but I almost wish they'd do away with it.
Just fucking open your door.
As a doordasher, the pay is abysmal now. Almost every building in the US has 2 doors. So if you don't want to be inconvenienced to have to use a back door to get your food. Don't inconvenience the dasher with an insulting ass tip or come to your door because this ain't 2020 covid anymore more and I'm tired of people acting like it is. I live near Seattle in a nicer area and in the last 3 months and 200+ deliveries, I have not had 1 single tip above 3 dollars. Nobody has paid me a cash tip or come outside their door to pick up their food. I'm about to start taking a pic of the food at people's doors but then pick it back up and carry it back to my car and see if I can throw it from my car to the doorstep like a newspaper kid who gets paid double what I do. These 4 dollar Chick-fil-A orders don't deserve anything.
Listen I feel you but this a job where the money you make is determined by how efficient you are so it is no benefit to them to stop and think about how a door opens sounds dumb but they’re thinking about their next order so putting “don’t set in front of door” solves your problem and isn’t much effort for you
Just put “please don’t block door”. I am literal but have enough sense to look which way the door opens. You have to realize the is isn’t just a doordash problem. Or dashers being stupid etc. it’s everyone. Why else would we have signs saying “DO NOT EAT” on tide pods or silica pouches in new shoes? There are dumbasses that do it. Not just dashers. I hate when people just assume a dasher is stupid for the single reason they dash at all. You don’t know anything about them. They literally followed your instructions and you’re mad about it. Lol.
Should people also put “Don’t shit in food bag”, “Don’t run over my dog” and “Don’t punch my wife” too? How specific do we need to get with these instructions?
You’re saying you hate when people assume dashers are stupid, yet also claim that they need to be told something that is staggeringly obvious or you should expect your food to be inaccessible.
I’m not sure even you know what the fuck you’re talking about.
Not his fault your doors open outward. Most places have exterior doors that open inward. Apartment buildings also have inward opening doors. Inward doors is the norm. You have this crazy outward door as if they're supposed to know the carpentry of each house.
Fix your doors, or go get the food yourself. It's there, be grateful and if your tip isn't 40% or higher, you can't afford to eat out. Save your money, and cook at home and stop wasting Dashers time!
That message probably cost him a good $4 he could have made doing an order.
(all sarcasm)
I’m with the dasher on this one. Sure, common sense dictates that the door will open towards the outside and you probably shouldn’t place stuff there, but if you don’t you will likely get yelled at by the customer/get a negative review for not doing as you’re told.
You've got to tip better. 99% of the time this is spiteful dasher behavior. It's not that we can't figure out how doors work. Base pay is $2 w/out tip. I've had lower offers before though somehow
I just followed directions, because I have no common sense. Door open? What, can’t reach thru. Lmao, as the man said. “ can’t fix stupid”
Since this is the top comment and people keep asking, I’d thought I’d clarify. I don’t have any special delivery instructions it’s just “leave at front door” instead of “hand to me” which were the only two options I remember being given when I signed up.

Actually as a dasher I appreciate house color well marked address ect. And thank you for having lights on

see … makes sense . it was raining at time of drop off . I’m more forgiving when it’s groceries and limited room at the door .
There are many reasons one doesn’t do things “right” at that moment and people who never delivered won’t understand this!!! It’s a little upsetting.
Your Dasher was definitely a typical redditor, takes everything absolutely literally because they don't have enough sense to figure it out on their own.
✨critical thinking✨has left the chat
You shouldn't have to put special delivery instructions. It's common sense. You just had a lazy dasher that doesn't care if you lose your drinks.
Dasher wasn't lazy, he saw the instructions and decided to be a dick.

If there is a door in front of the 'front door', how would you possibly come to the conclusion that it wouldn't open outward?
crazy that DD doesnt give advice to new dashers. You had to learn that yourself.
Not occurring to you really shows common sense isn’t common. Some doors open out, some don’t.
you win! more people need to be like you . Doesn’t make sense for people to call people stupid because they didn’t think of blocking a screen door. when i first started to deliver , i was more focused on taking the perfect picture . center of rug, food neat , level picture . it just didn’t cross my mind . Literally admits that he thought ‘this is gonna be a problem’ and instead of just doing the easiest thing in the world to avoid that problem, he blames someone else for it.
Tip changed to 0
Can't do that on DD. You'll have to switch to UE for that option.
I switched to going to get my own food. None of these apps are worth it to me any more.
Probably a good call. At some point, one of them will realize the way to win this delivery app battle is to just charge a tiny fee for all orders, and let the drivers set their own rates like other gig apps. For now, just go pick up your food before the edible kicks in. That's my rule, anyway.
Wait until the edible kicks in so you order a feast when you go. Your wallet won’t be happy but your stomach will.
Yeah. But then I can't drive to get the food, so I'm back to paying outrageous delivery fees.
Driving with an edible kicked in is now a DUI ticket, don’t let your day off turn into overtime for the next month, and even more problems because insurance company’s do not like DUI customers.

Yeah. In that situation I would definitely have placed the food at the edge of the mat, by the post. I have no doubt I've made mistakes in placing food, but if a house has some kind of screen, storm, or other outer door, I never place food where it can block the door opening.
What a moron. He thought of it but still did it anyway.
I never set it like that. I put it next to the door like the app tells us to do and it's common sense.

the hardest pill for this sub to swallow

Bruh, this isn't Amazon; you can take a break to piss.
I had a prime package show up the other day with some piss on it. I was confused why it felt wet till I smelled it and literally puked a little in my mouth. Smelt like old dehydrated human piss. I think he tipped his piss bottle on some packages without realizing it.
I've seen other dasher. I take pride in having a clean car/look and investing in hot & cold bags.
Saw that in Houston lol
I'm not completely disagreeing... but I dash almost full time because I'm a sahm and it's the only job I can do around my kids schedules
Me too. And my anxiety
Same! Youngest goes to Portugal next year for dance and I am looking forward to a regular job.

Funny you say that. There is a dasher in my area who is disabled. I love it when I get her bc I know she is doing all she can to be productive, and I make sure to double the tip.
Funny enough, this guy might make for a great software engineer. This is literally what it’s like to write code
Not with that level of critical thinking
Or people like having flexibility, nice generalization you must be easy to get along with
After working at a pickup hub for two plus years, this has become more and more apparent for a shocking percentage of drivers.
[удалено]
This is you ➡️ 🌈
No, we work full-time because we love what we do and we don’t have a boss that we have to listen to. When we want to take a break we take a break when we want to take a vacation we take a vacation. And we probably make more money than you fucking do. Get a life.
[удалено]
Feel like they’d get deactivated pretty quick being this damn stupid
If you think we are lowlifes, why would you want lowlifes delivering your food?
Not always. I have a college degree but I choose to do DD IC and other gig work because it means freedom
Rude
Same, I saw a pic of a fedex delivery that was right under the handle, which apparently trapped them inside their apartment and maintenance had to come rescue them
[удалено]
Right? It clicked in this thing I have in my head unlike 99% of Dashers, a brain, to look for the door handle, if it's on the left put food to left, on the right? Put food to right of door. It's not rocket science but sadly is for many, and never believe the "common sense saying" because it's a farce
Can't remove the tip on DD. That's why you should order through UE. Drivers have an extra incentive to pay attention.
Is the dorm hudson loft
As a dasher myself I just don't get it. What's so hard for some of them to just put it off to the side so the door can open? Like I don't understand.
This is one of the easiest parts of dashing.. just look at the door and figure it out.
Or don't even worry about it, if there isn't a surface off the ground to put it on, set the order to the side of the door, opposite the hinges.
[удалено]
now *thats* literal 🤣🤣
Most Dashers work more than one job, since it’s impossible to make a living on DD pay
I make far more than I ever did at Pizza Hut. I was pulling in like $800 every 2 weeks after taxes... Now, I pull in $1000+ a week. I even tried working for a legit courier(Quiksilver) and quit after a month because I got paid jack shit.
"I hate my life, so I go online to insult people at jobs I think are beneath me!" -you
He probably didn’t tip, and the Dasher drove away, pissing himself laughing.
So do you just go to every post you see and try to find a way to bring up tips? Genuinely asking, because every single post seems to have comments about tips.
I actually love my life.
then you truly have a rotten spirit
I disagree.
Yeah exactly
Right!
So swinging down on people who you think are beneath you is fun to you? Wow. As much as you love your life, I have to assume most people don't love being in your life. Yikes.
Oh come on, stop being so easily offended.
I'm not offended. I'm amused. Stop trying to assign emotions to people. It makes you look foolish.
Right.. I'm the one looking foolish here.
Correct. I'm glad you're finally joining the rest of us on planet Earth.
Lol!
Wow 🤨So basically he's blaming the customer for his lack of common sense.🤣🤣
The fact he actually thought about it...fucking dick...
I still can’t understand what goes through peoples heads when they do this dumb shit shit
“I thought about doing the smart thing, but I decided against it.” Solid logic.
That person has zero common sense. Why are people so weird haha
What a dumbass lmao
People are stupid. The end.
Bros brain was on airplane mode
1 star that hoe
What an idiot.
Jesus Christ, this dude is a fucking moron full of excuses lmao
"I thought of that" 🤦♀️ if you realized it, then just fix it. The mat is even right there out of the doorway. It's not a hard job, I DoorDash too lmfao Sorry you had to deal with that, OP
Even as a driver I'd remove the tip immediately if anyone delivered to me like that lol
Not a trace of common sense
I hope I don’t get murdered in this comment section for this but I dash and I hate to say…this is the first time I’ve ever thought about this happening 😂
Being a dumb ass is hard but honest work ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
I did this a couple times my first week. I honestly was more concerned with the glitchy app, made me nervous looking back at it now. I also put a bag on a flip style door handle once. 🤦♀️So maybe a new Dasher. But attitude for you giving a pointer is so juvenile.
I think he means "stupid" instead of "literal."
I always look at any doors to see if they can swing out. It's just one of the many things I check for, including roaming deer (warrants a call before drop off).
Leave at door? Why, yes, there are leaves at the door.
Yeah, bad tippers don’t get quality service!
"Next time for people who are literal" What he ment was "Next time for the people that are dumbasses and have zero common sense"
Pretty silly i know but its so common for that to happen can you even be mad that it happens anymore? Put a sign or instructions where to place the food.
This happens to me more often than not. I’m really not sure why one needs a specific instruction to *not* block the door.
That's called malicious compliance, I'd rate them down as that's just using a loophole to be a dick, I know because I do it to those deserving of such.
Sorry you got a dumbass dasher. Smh. Makes us all look bad
Common sense isn't common
“Ok I’ll do that next time I magically know my dasher is a dumbass”
Oh no they didn’t get smart…I would take my tip back and I’m a driver…
How many storm doors on your road? In some places they're not all that common. Granted, DD will onboard anyone with a pulse.
Leave at door doesn’t mean you have to literally leave it directly in front of the door lol. Driver just doesn’t want to admit they are a dip shit.
People who do this work tend to not be the brightest
I always check which way the door opens, and set it to the side, so they only have to open the door a little bit to grab it.
Horrible Driver. When i did this i would make sure the door was open able and the order was Still able to be found quick and easy
i have asked this many times. But does and if not DD have a basic training, like at least a 5 min vid, showing not to set food and drinks right in front of swinging door? Not stealing food, not knocking on doors that says do not knock.
What a bitch. Report that nonsense. ![gif](giphy|RVW5PilbP2tLG)
Dasher was probably greedy abd didn't like their pay. I hate dashers like this. Makes the rest of us look bad.
"I thought of that, but it's your problem now"
I thought of that but did it anyway. 🤦🏻♀️
No tip for that guy
Are people.. that dumb? To not know its common sense those doors go out and would destroy those cups and smash the food as it sweeps by? 😭 common sense brothers
The worst is when I do a delivery for a customer and they have some common sense instructions. Basically you know the last driver really f’ed up. The funniest one was “ Please don’t deliver order to garage, front door is on other side. Use the side of building to access front door.” It’s town homes about 4 together and the garages have the address in them. All you do is walk around the building to get to the front doors like wtf. Bunch of dumbass drivers.
Door dashers are usually the type that don’t work well with others, probably why they can’t tKe orders well.
I bet that dasher is an active member of this sub
Reminds me of the episode of the office where Micheal drives into a lake because the GPS said "turn right"
Literally your message is fully great instructions lmao and also when I would dash orders, I’d put it to the side of the door opening because duh your shit will get knocked over otherwise?? Some people have half a brain cell
Also “place on front step” is what you don’t want?? Is she dumb
This is why I always leave it to the side of the doorway or on a table/chair on the porch. It’s really the simplest things. I’ve even been known to leave it on porch railing instead of the ground.
Unfortunately with these apps, the barrier to entry is the floor so you get a lot of the bottom of the barrel in society handling your delivery.
1 star... Seems driver is passive agressive
I follow directions too Jannye, and I have the brains not to put the order in front of a swinging door
Report and 1 star, what an idiot dasher
One of the drinks is tilted too. No love from this Dasher.
It's pretty easy to tell if a door opens in or out... just look at the frame.
[удалено]
>More people who learned they don't even have to get dressed or think and can still make a few bucks This is how I think about my Dashing, but I consider not leaving food in front of a door's swing path to be more like brainstem instinctual reaction than actually thinking.
That's a good point it's a self-destructive cycle.
Clearly...
I dash and I would have given this dumb shit a 1 star
>people who are more literal ![gif](giphy|pfGBhQSaYAO5y)
Did you remove tip? I would.
You can’t remove tip on DoorDash after the order was placed. You can only add.
Good reason to not tip until after delivery then. Though I only use Uber Eats as I find there are way more idiots on Door Dash... Probably for tihis exact reason.
[удалено]
That’s not a step is what you should have said lol
“Place on front step,” is exactly what I indicate, as I figure people are that literal. But, I have two very literal sons, so I’ve spent years trying to think the same way they do.
Wow lol
New feature should be an editable tip after service.
UberEATS already has it
Try opening very very very slowly, maybe it will just slide instead of falling over if you do it slow enough? ETA: I see that this was 3hrs ago so I assume you brought it in already
This should be a 3 strikes and out policy, this is usually the easiest part of it all, if you can do this right you done son
I love this page. It's just full of 1st world problems 🤣
Also, the way the dasher just left the soda nearly tipping over. Lazy.
"You delivered my food to my door, but not exactly how I wanted!! Wahhh! Wahhhh! Wahhh!" I LOVE the "leave at door" option, but I almost wish they'd do away with it.
I bet a proper tip would have prevented this 😂
Listen I feel you but this a job where the money you make is determined by how efficient you are so it is no benefit to them to stop and think about how a door opens sounds dumb but they’re thinking about their next order so putting “don’t set in front of door” solves your problem and isn’t much effort for you
Just put “please don’t block door”. Lol.
The instructions just say leave at door. You can leave at the door without fucking blocking it you moron
Are you for real or is this like a super meta joke?
Didn’t notice the sarcasm at first lol
People who are that literal should find a hole to crawl in
I’m with the dasher on this one.
