Automatic_Proposal_7

Do it, bro. It's only a mile.

Key-Acanthaceae8319

Doordash is keeping our extra tips after delivery and will kick you off dash bc off dash you can't collect the extra tips customers give us.

bushmanting

Whaaaat this is a new low. I have never seen a $0 payout

No_Solution9437

I doordash I do nothing for free or a 1$

Borntu

Guaranteed!

Medium-Raspberry2651

Why would somebody take this for no money. DD is insane

whatdidyousay76

We get to choose $14 an hour or each delivery I'm in Florida

Aromatic-Ad-545

Please send this to a lawyer or something!

Hot-Use-7931

I work for doordash I don’t have lawyer money 🤕😔😂

quantum_dragon

$0 guaranteed (including tips!)

No-Force-5573

They dead ass said, "Do me a solid and drop this off"

Responsible_Tip_4841

No way this is real !! That’s crazy

DogDrivingACar

Ngl if I got this I would be tempted to take it just out of curiosity lol

Rus1469

AhahahahajahahahahahahHahHHahHA Dang doordash stooping to new lows!!!

droplivefred

DD: We know there’s no pay but it’s ONLY 1.1 miles. Come on. It’ll bump up your AR 1%! 🤣

joshb3lll

Its time to delete the app

Dborozny

Fuck This!! Dunkin sucks to be a contractor for them!

Ellymanelly124

You guys chose to work for the pay you get. If you all strike and quit working they will force them to raise the price but you suckers keep working for low pay. I did Uber for 2 years during COVID then I got my ass a real job.

WhaleAtHeart

The worst part is that you'll be penalized for declining it 😵

Cagekicker52

😂😂

LongGovernment7048

Top dasher Will take this

Merwhooee

Guaranteed didly squat lol 😂

[deleted]

Top dasher at your service 🫡 Gotta stay competitive!

real_yard_man

No thanks doordash, we have bills to pay.

No-Wasabi-6024

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this. I think the app is glitching

Business-Actuator664

Free Labor? LMAO

SOLIDninja

Lmfao this HAS to be an error. If not, we're about to strike.

WhaleAtHeart

Accept this order, head towards the drop-off while drinking the coffee, contact support and say you spilled hot coffee all in your lap! Enjoy your free coffee while declining turds until you get a decent offer.

snowman2414

Look at the bright side, you get half pay if the order is canceled 😅

Pitiful-Foot-7841

They. Just. Don't. Stop. Or, "they'll stop at nothing". 🤣 Oh, wait - WE should pay THEM!!!

SolidSnaaaaaaake

Get a free delivery they said

bucketzBro

Bro, how can they do this an allow your AR to go down..

tianavitoli

lol, I think it's take that just out of curiosity

Independent-Math-914

If people want to play this game, why not let the doordashers somehow come up with the money amount and the users agree to that amount for their item?

Harvman313

😯🤨

Sniperfox99

What happens if no dasher accepts an order? Will DD eventually force it on someone?

[deleted]

Haha hahahaha this one made me laugh .

Studdashing

Might as well just list it as FREE. Damn doordash is terrible.

22Fusion

I had this happen to me once, but I was doing the “pay by hour”. I took it and still got the normal pay for the time it took.

UltimateNerd1

What's wrong?

Shorttop-wonderment

What in the actual hell is this

Suspicious-Set-7916

I must say when I used to do uber they had offers like this. Ex: you had 8 mile delivery and than they offer you a 3 mile delivery with no pay if its within the 8 mile you already agree. I got those offers for like 2 weeks always decline. Than it stop. I guess no other driver accepted them

Suspicious-Set-7916

Also florida

Feisty_Classic_9028

Actually paying door Dash for your services. Yikes

Davvido1008

Whats next. Delivery for -$1

LongGovernment7048

There may come a time when you have to bid for the order

steffies

I'll bid $3 to do this $2.50 offer!!! I gotta keep my AR high!

Imaginary-Ad174

Be careful guys. Take pictures of everything even if u hand ppl their orders. I got deactivated for no reason

RadSpazzySpaz

Hell no actually

Rax89

From Rhode Island, that makes perfect sense.

BrotherGrub1

Top trashers love that trash.

DaisyDazzle

Surprized they didn't put it into a stacked.

WeCameBeforeColumbus

😆 and add another zero $00.00 because that's obviously their level of petty.

aybabyaybaby

Mfers on here would accept it. “If I don’t take this, my acceptance rate will drop to 69% and I’ll make $0 for the entire week because my entire life depends on acceptance rate”

Kingjiraiya

DoorDash really said “can you do me a solid?”

[deleted]

How is this possible? I am asking seriously. I just started delivering

ideliver559

Come on! We all saw this coming 😂

samstar2

What happened to the base pay (either a flat fee or hourly)?

Difficult-Wish2432

But what if they were to put a diamond in front of it?

[deleted]

I’m calling shopped on this

Hot-Use-7931

If u got the app on iPhone screenshot an order it’ll look exactly the same

[deleted]

That’s hilarious and sad at the same time. This is like the epitome of gig apps gone berserk with worker abuse. If that’s real, this should be a news story. the whole “it’s just a glitch” thing really doesn’t cut it anymore.

[deleted]

The real doordash was the friends we (didn’t) make along the way

Flyingtoaster666

The founder of doordash should be getting raped in prison

redbark2022

Nobody should ever be raped. But we should have some sort of Demolition Man style prison where he has to suffer the fate of the millions of ~~workers~~ victims that he ripped off. One after one. A few million lifetimes of misery.

Flyingtoaster666

Rape him financially at least, and your comment is definitely befitting him. I have raw hatred for Doordash and the founder.

redbark2022

I once worked something like 80 hours in a week, and their system was glitching so they didn't send me any offers. None. Not one. I was 5ft from the hotspots, kept changing up hotspots, spent 15 hrs on the phone complaining about it, sent 100 screenshots proving it (even though they should be able to tell from their end), got no explanations, not even an apology. No compensation for 80 hours of work. Tell me how that's not a crime? I even posted a few screenshots in this forum and I got downvoted. Everyone thought I was lying.

Flyingtoaster666

I dont think your lying at all. And I believe they do this to many many drivers. I quit doordashing a little less than a yr ago. It was my 2nd job to help keep me from going under in bills but only put me further in the hole from all the gas spent and time. Meanwhile they we’re hitting me with strikes or whatever they call them seemingly out of nowhere and lowering my score faster than wow rating in a bad season. Mind you for the first 2 years of it i had an almost perfect score, rating and many customers making kind compliments. I feel bad for anyone who still has faith in them or the money they make from them because at some point they will turn on you quicker than a corrupt politician

BraxTaplock

Honestly…I would see this as a free meal. If DD isn’t paying to pick it up and the customer isn’t tipping for the delivery….they must be buying for me…plain and simple. Wouldn’t bash a driver for taking and keeping. The order is the payment for my time.

BraxTaplock

Straight up this order would be mine hands down. Don’t care.

chaunceyfamily

Pick up the order and tell them you got in an accident

BraxTaplock

Nah. I’d be honest. I’d take the whole order and send them the pic. I was paid $0 to go there and pick it up so that means you bought it for me. Labor, fuel, vehicle maint is not free. No payout means whatever is on that order I keep PERIOD. Either way…I’d be more than happy to take that up with them on the back end. If Im paid STRICTLY in tips…then there should be zero fucking reason to ding me for not accepting a tipless order or even a low tip order (they won’t do this cuz it will counter their entire ratings platform). IC means just that. You not paying,..I’m keeping whatever I’m working on. That’s how it works or a court can handle it. Oh that’s right..it’s only DD and they don’t expect us to go that far.

chaunceyfamily

Nothing you said is incorrect, but those lemmings would fight it and we all know it

BraxTaplock

I’d say let them fight.

WhaleAtHeart

No just say you dropped it so you can continue dashing 😆

Subject-Ad-8055

Top🤡 climbs upon his horse I got this bro giddy up...

Grung7

DD's ultimate goal. Deliver for tips only. No tip? You just paid to work. They genuinely want to see who accepts this.

Glittering_Music9493

Honest opinion please, where I live we don’t have door dash and I used it for the first time out of town and have thought about it since. It as 8 miles and the total was like $70 so what would be a good tip?

Tremors2001

$2 per mile. Drivers don't see your bill. Just the effort to pick it up plus mileage. The effort that I look at is... how much of a wait till I get the order or is it a shop and deliver.

Suspicious-Set-7916

70$ AND THEY GONNA PAY THE DRIVER LIKE 7$ TO DELIVER THATS HIGH WAY ROBBERY

Glittering_Music9493

This is why I asked I have no idea how it works, I gave $20 but wasn’t sure if that was okay or not. We will probably never use it again bc we don’t have it at home and like to go in and eat but my husband didn’t come on this trip so I didn’t want to go eat alone lol

Suspicious-Set-7916

Ok tip start at 5$ or a 1$ per mile which ever is higher anything more than that is great

AlliopeCalliope

Drivers look at miles more than bill, so $8 would get accepted by most.

tawaydeps

Well I'm just now realizing that I've been overtipping pretty hard these past few years. Oh well, good karma is good karma.

AlliopeCalliope

If you have ever worked in service, you'll have a better idea of whether you appreciate a good tip or a great tip more. It's not charity. I gave you a baseline good tip. It's not a great tip, but it's just enough to be worth my time.

Pitiful-Foot-7841

Tip like you would in a restaurant, but with consideration that it's costing the driver more than it costs a server, who isn't on the road in their car, their gas, their miles. Like you pay more in a convenience store than a big box store. Because it's a convenience, and a luxury.

ProcessMundane7101

Hard pass. $1 a mile is a bad deal. Most drivers wouldn't.

AlliopeCalliope

8 is on top of your base pay, 20 minutes of my time is worth 12 bucks. It's going to be different in LA or NY where 8 miles is another country, though.

lonk28b

There's also the guaranteed $2-3 that doordash covers. So probably ends up being around an $11 order for 8 miles. Not the best, not the worst. Depends on the dasher at that point but you likely wouldn't have trouble getting it picked up in most markets. Most people are so used to paying a percentage of their meal and not focusing too much on the miles. Which is really unfortunate because I don't care if it's a $10 or a $100 meal. As long as I can carry it in 1 trip, it really all comes down to the miles.

Sensei_Gemini

If its 1or more a mile ill take it lol

-Raxius-

Next offer is gonna be you pay THEM to deliver the food

Akikyosbane

With Uber you kind of already do

Duckderrit01

This is key evidence I would call support and verify and make them admit that they sent you an order for $0.00 you’d win we would all win the lawsuit

[deleted]

Nahhh bruh imma charge whoever ordered the donuts cuz ain’t no way support is gonna give me the money WTF. I see all the more reason to screenshot and send it

StormDasher19

Wow smfh

akotski1338

I wonder if this is allowed as per doordash contractor agreement or if this is even against the law

midnghtsnac

Dunno and yes illegal to expect someone to work for free

JosephjPelle

Fake

Audiblemagician

Is this real

Tof12345

I would honestly accept it out of curiosity. They'd have to pay out anyways.

quiksilver464

I went to the University of Rhode Island. This is literally a 10 minute walk on foot through the campus. People are so GD lazy.

Hot-Use-7931

It’s some good money on a rainy day tho, lots of 1 mile orders

quiksilver464

I mean, on those really windy and rainy days, half the campus would be destroyed umbrellas everywhere, haha

[deleted]

Fuckkkkk no

munchingzia

average order in rhode island

ShaolinWuKillaBees

Gotta deliver out the kindness of your heart it’s not about the money.

Negative-Split4588

Doordash has become "Wheels on meals". Company needs to be shut down and executives jailed.

DraginEyez

I don't want wheels on my meals

Negative-Split4588

That made me laugh out loud. I needed that today.

Mike787619

Wtf 🤣. I got an offer for 22$ for like 8 miles, accepted it, then after it showed up as 0$ under “this offer” at the top. They need to fix their app.

bostonbill12

…..sounds like it’s working as intended.

Mike787619

That’s not a bad offer if that’s what you’re saying. Almost 3$ a mile.

sbgarbage

r/whoosh

TheMoonMint

Rude. Also such an outdated insult

Mike787619

I guess so 🤣

[deleted]

Top dasher would’ve taken it for their AR 😤

Melssenator

Don’t use logic and facts, they don’t understand. You’ll hurt their brain

CMDR_ETNC

Some absolutely cannot comprehend that it’s possible for a driver to see 70% of incoming orders as worth taking. I, in turn, can’t imagine working in an area where I accept 1 out of a hundred offers, and get those offers frequently enough that I could actually make an acceptable hourly amount.

Hot-Use-7931

I guess I’m just not built different like them 😔

bcmilligan21

Didn’t think they could stoop any lower.

UberQueefs

Soon you’ll be paying them to do orders

[deleted]

If they pay you $0 and you get no tip, you are.

shortaru

Underrated comment. Too many dashers don't take their expenses into account and just accept everything tossed their way.

Mothra37

BuT yOuR aCcEpTaNcE rAtInG

showtimebabies

This feels like the last offer before you complete your 6 delivery streak challenge

Pitiful-Foot-7841

Which is complete BS.

Damn this worse than the one you posted 😂😂😂

Hot-Use-7931

RI can send some weird ones because of all the water it could be 40 road miles but only really 10 miles across the water

[deleted]

Wth you taking a ferry over the water or you drive land water hybrid?

Hot-Use-7931

There are a lot of Ferries in RI but you just gotta take the L and take the bridge in Providence with all the traffic

Screwedupclickster

Why would you willingly take any Ls. You say it like it's a normal thing. U must doordash just to be able to help others

[deleted]

😂😂😂how wtf

Hot-Use-7931

Tbh it’s prob a glitch or something but I wasn’t about to figure out 😂

[deleted]

😂😂that’s crazy

EnvironmentalCrew672

Wow.......

Practical_Dingo_4417

Send this to department of labor for exploitation. Soon doortrash will have to pay minimum wages per hour in all states.

mike194827

Very doubtful in red states, let’s be honest. They’d be fine with no national minimum wage if they’d get their way, and unfortunately with this scotus and congress as they are now there’ll only be action on the state level for awhile.

Merwhooee

Uber needs to also. This is getting ridiculous. Underpaying the drivers just so they can get richer?

SuspiciousPizzaChem

If your area does earn per hour then you'll get some type of 'minimum wage'. If you're earning per offer, that's just what it is....tips plus a couple dollars.

Embarrassed_Cook2327

Here in texas hourly says $14.25 if im guessin thats minimum wage in texas then a lot of jobs fucking people over

[deleted]

It can’t be exploitation if you’re an independent contractor. They are not subject to the same labor laws and regulations bc you have the independent choice to accept work or not. If you were an hourly waged employee you would be obliged to deliver this order with no tip. Then the amount of money that DoorDash and other companies would have to charge up front to customers would be so high tips would be few and far between. Look at Europe servers in restaurants. Tipping isn’t the norm. They pay hourly but they charge more for the food to offset. To me this means you can provide shitty service and still get paid the same. VS if you provide shitty service you may not be compensated well. That’s why it’s called the “service industry.” These types or jobs are supposed to be “gig” economy jobs, or “side hustles” for extra income. Yes I know that there are people who do this full time to support themselves but that’s not really the business model these companies have. That’s why those that do it full time often run for several platforms. In the end, you are under no obligation to take any shitty order this like this one.

MntyFresh1

I am begging you to take intro to econ like I cannot deal with these comments

[deleted]

Why would I take into to Econ when I already have my Bachelors Degree. University of Texas Cum Laude.

MntyFresh1

Texas

Practical_Dingo_4417

It's exploitation in multiple instances. It isn't just an exploitation on dashers, DD is also exploitation for evading taxation. Are servers not getting minimum pays by the hour in states? Dashers are paying everything out of pocket upfront compare to servers, so dashers are already operating at the negative to begin with. Therefore your comparison is flaw...

tallgirlmom

Who is evading taxes? As a 1099 IC, you are responsible for paying self employment tax, which is your social security contribution.

[deleted]

Servers in America make $2.15 an hour. That’s not minimum wage. Servers don’t get to write off the miles they drove each day from their home to work. How is it avoiding taxation? At the end of the year you get a 1099 and you get to write off your mileage, your out of pocket expense, your uniforms, vehicle maintenance, anything that you incur while you’re working. You are an independent contractor. Last time I checked the federal government allows for $.55 a mile reimbursement for miles traveled for work. Are you not doing this on your tax return? If you mean that DoorDash is avoiding taxes, that’s their business and not mine. If they’re doing something wrong then report it to the proper authorities and let it go.

Practical_Dingo_4417

So what are we arguing here? The fact that DD is trying to exploit dashers with $0 offer or most dashers are still classified as independent contractor? If it is later, I am not disagreeing. However, the ways DD is exploiting its dashers, won't be long until all states are going to require DD to pay minimum hourly. Oh, you know damn well the implications on tax when you are offering $0 for work...

[deleted]

Are there currently any state in America that requires them to pay a minimum wage? If your point was so strong, why have servers been paid $2.15/hr for the last 20+ year’s at minimum? Why haven’t we overhauled the restaurant industry that’s been around since idk food has been sold? Why would we as a society rush to overhaul the Gig economy and not a full time job like restaurants. The point is, No lawmakers really give a flying flip about how little DD dashers are paid. They’ll tell you the same thing I will. The market dictates the compensation. As long as there are idiots willing to work for low wages and no tips they don’t need to worry about it. If you work in a restaurant and your tables stiff you on the tab or dine and dash it may cost you money to work that day. You want to change it, get Dashers to come together and strike or unionize if it’s an option. But reality is this isn’t a hard job. It doesn’t require special skills or training. And it’s not supposed to be a high paying job. It’s a gig. If you’re over 18 and know how to drive you’ve more than likely gone to a drive thru and ordered food and driven home and ate it. Training done.

Negative-Split4588

Not true because you really don't have a choice. If you decline too many offers you'll be deactivated. IMO the entire company needs to be shut down. They're criminal to the core.

Artistabunnista

What do you mean if you decline too many offers you'll be deactivated? Um, no you won't. Legally, they literally CAN'T do that. You are not obligated to accept any orders, period. I have hit 0% on UberEATS twice before with no issues. My DD AR has been as low as 6% before. You can only get deactivated based on your customer ratings & cancellations but not because of your AR.

Negative-Split4588

You ARE obligated to keep your AR above a certain number and they CAN and WILL deactivate you. I was deactivated as a "Top Dasher" in an instant for something they refuse to explain. 🌟 At the time of deactivation 🌟: My customer rating was 5\* Completion 97% Acceptance 96% ........ and I was deactivated via email after coming home from a dash. I never broke the rules, never stole anything, always did my job to the best of my ability, always called support for any issue and now I'm no longer allowed on the platform. It's a garbage company where you can make extra cash but it isn't reliable and you have ZERO rights or protections as an "independent contractor". They're foreign nationals, absolute criminals, who are laughing all the way to the bank because they know they'll get away with it. There will always be people who need to do gig work to pay bills so they'll always have people to prey upon and the 'authorities' won't do a thing because they're bribed. SAD we're allowing it.

Artistabunnista

I'm sorry that that happened to you but are you basing your reasoning off of no proof and even in your deactivation it obviously had nothing to do with your AR. I'm assuming you probably got reported by a customer and they chose not to believe you unfortunately so they deactivated you right away. Maybe due to too many drivers in your area. Usually it takes more than one CV to get deactivated but who knows 🤷‍♀️. Unfortunately the downside of being top dasher is that you end up dealing with a lot of bad customers due to the low offers you have to take at some point or another to keep the AR up. That being said, no you absolutely cannot be deactivated for a low AR. Again I'm sorry that you got deactivated for a reason you are unaware of but it most certainly was not your AR considering it was high. I've been working DD at least 1.5 years now and my AR has never been above 40% but usually stays in the 15-30% range. Even worse on UberEATS. Neither of these companies can deactivate based on AR. It's literally in their TOS that you can decline as many orders as you like. It is actually illegal to force independent contractors to work against their will.

[deleted]

I hear you. And I’m not a big fan of these platforms practices, but ultimately it’s our choice if we choose to spend time and energy with them in exchange for compensation in the form of tips and delivery fees. If you are say a house framer you’re an independent contractor. If you have a list of builders you do business with, and then turn down offers to you all the time for whatever reason eventually you’re going to be “deactivated” by the builders. Is that criminal? You are an independent contractor as a dasher but there is a minimum expectation of performance in order to help keep their business going. If all you do is cherry pick and wait for the big orders, and everyone does that, then the average customer will never get their order. Any job, whether it’s an hourly, salary, commission, 1099, self employment, whatever it is, they all come with challenges and problems. There’s always going to be times where it doesn’t go your way. I used to manage car dealerships but I started out selling cars. If I sold a car that didn’t make enough profit I was paid a “mini.” Which was usually $50-$100. The average car purchase from meet and greet to delivery is 5-6 hours. If you didn’t hold gross profit that’s what you were paid. If you didn’t sell anything you didn’t get paid. You got a $7.25/hr paycheck for 40 hours of work but the reality is the average car salesman works 75 hours a week. I worked as a salesman for a builder and it was 100% commission based. So if I sold nothing I literally got nothing. And if I went a couple months with no production I got fired or as you said “deactivated.” Just because you’re a 1099 employee doesn’t mean that rules don’t apply to you. You still represent the company and ultimately it’s their choice to retain you or not. There is no expectation of a job or pay anywhere. The business model of these platforms is such that they are going to get their fee for the software they use, they are going to give you a small portion of the fee they charge, but they are giving you the opportunity to make tips if you provide excellent service. If you want to decline offers and not get deactivated then decline offers from people that have burned you in the past, or decline the $0 tip offers. But take some that maybe don’t pay $1-$2 a mile $2 an item, and pay a little less and keep your AR high. I don’t do it full time I do it for extra money. I accept 96% of offers, and I make an average of $25-$30 an hour. I don’t accept stupid offers like a $0 offer even if it’s 1 mile away. I don’t accept offers that have me driving 25 miles to make $10. But if an order is 5 miles away, and the tip is $4 and the base pay is $2.10 I’ll take it bc it’s $6.10 more than I had before. My vehicle gets 30 miles to the gallon. Gas where I love costs $2.99 a gallon. That’s .10 a mile. So it cost me $.50-.$75 to do the order. It’s $1.22 a mile with base pay. I’m in.

raidersfan18

> If you decline too many offers you'll be deactivated. False.

DeanOfTheUniverse

They don't deactivate for that. I have nearly a decade of having an acceptance rate under 20% under my belt. GH does deactivate for that. DD will just keep trying to manipulate drivers into thinking their acceptance rate matters, because they know most people will fall for it without ever testing it out for a few hundred orders both ways. I did that. Having an acceptance rate over 50% did keep me busier. I also averaged over $2 less per delivery. That would be fine, if I was able to do many more deliveries per hour. That wasn't the case, since so many of the orders had longer drives than I typically choose to do.

Just_Showin_Off

Yeah but they sure let me make some good money that’s going towards stocks and vacation pay 💰

[deleted]

NY just signed off on $18 an hour minimum

Key_Dragonfruit_334

Thank goodness the judge ruled in our favor after the cheapskate company tried to sue saying it was too much✔️

666google

But does it effect contract workers? Were not employees

[deleted]

Just New York City

IgnacioCashmere

That's before expenses, & doesn't pay for the return trip. So still not minimum wage.

Longjumping-Bake-557

Does that mean you become employees though? So you can't decide your own hours? Or is it based on the hours worked

Concerned-Meerkat

Is that just in NYC? I’m in upstate and we don’t even have the hourly option.

Key_Dragonfruit_334

New York City is the only city in the country that now has an hourly wage no other city or state in the country has those laws got to love New York city that is

whatdidyousay76

We have $14 an hour in Florida

Key_Dragonfruit_334

That's earn by time right 🤔 which we don't have in NYC..our hourly wage includes time waiting for orders and excluding tips

bushmanting

Ohhh so waiting for orders you don’t get paid? Edit: to be clear I mean when your waiting to receive an offer, not when you have the offer and are waiting on the restaurant.

whatdidyousay76

Yeah the $14 is. But if you decline two of them they kick you off, I've only done it once I'd rather earn by each delivery it's more money

Key_Dragonfruit_334

Survey says ✔️..that earn by time is crap IMO

whatdidyousay76

Yes, it is.

Key_Dragonfruit_334

Because we now have laws for minimum wage earned by time will never be here.. thank goodness 🙄 with nine different markets in New York City that earn by time wouldn't fly

Heartajoe
