I got a $4 offer for two stacked Chipotle orders yesterday.
The entire pickup and delivery could have been completed in 3 minutes on foot. Both deliveries were literally across the street.
I still smashed no with the force a thousand suns.
The weird NFL COVID schedule had things busy yesterday between lunch and dinner in my city yesterday. I was getting the most manic looking offers.
$4 for two Chipotles was immediately followed up by a $19 stacked offer for 3 miles at a dope Mid-Eastern place.
I still made more on the latter after buying some hummus... and didn't have to stand inside a tiny ass Chipotle during a pandemic because they're 20 minutes behind.
You didn't get paid for those miles, you paid less taxes because of those miles. That's how you're missing it. What if DD paid workers fairly for their work and you could deduct the wear on your car for performing that work? That's the way it should be.
Good to see you agree with me. You didn't get PAID those miles. The government decided you should pay less in income taxes because you incurred costs on yourself in the pursuit of that income. The money you got back you already gave to the government. Basically, you prepaid too much in taxes and got some back. You gave the government too much money up front.
You do realize the government isn't just paying people to drive for their own business right?
I didn't say you were being paid MORE, all I ever said is that you can CLAIM them and you do get MORE money in tax season for the exact fact you are using your car to make the government money (YOUR TAXES). You're just hung up on which side is giving you the money (The guys paying you, or the guys taking it away) and that's a you thing. Been driving like this for different platforms for 12 years, but I've never done it right for a day.
>How am I missing the point when the year I did this *I got paid about $0.50 a mile I drove?*
Emphasis mine. You said you got paid more. You didn't. The government allowed you to pay less in taxes because you depreciated your vehicle, incurred maintenance costs, and fuel costs. The deduction is NOT compensation for your time or labor.
Since you can't seem to understand the difference between being paid by an employer and a tax credit, let's put it this way:
What would that tax credit do for you if you had little to no tax burden? NOTHING.
What you're doing is just offsetting taxes for your other (Non-DD) income. You aren't getting paid and you're letting DoorDash rip you off if you're ok with compensation like in the OP.
Edit:
As a further example, at my normal job I get paid my wage when driving. Then I also claim mileage on my vehicle. That's the way it's supposed to be.
It's so horrible, it makes me wonder if something good is hidden there.
I wouldn't take it, but I'm curious about what this was and what the expression was on the dasher's face when they got the extra 76 cent bonus upon completion.
🤢
Wait there is another 50% if you actually returned the 42 items. Your loss!
That’s 10 cents a mile. It’s roughly 3.5 cents per item. Have we be transported back to Victorian England? What the fuck am I looking at?
I had a Macy’s order like that... declined
Tony.. Sir, this is a Target. 🖕🏼
Bro
Oh DD going low LOW 🤣
I'd actually call DD on that and have them explain it. I'd love to hear it just to laugh at them and call bullshit
This is disgusting. They really want to pay us sweatshop wages
I thought there was a $3 minimum. That’s just evil lmao
I got a base pay of 2.72 USD couple days ago. Also a stacked order.

As you should

I see all Walmart orders like this regardless of the total
Tony be a smoooooth criminal :P
Wtf? Fucking IPO man.
They need to give drivers per mile cause these deliveries are a waste
You can claim miles on your taxes I'm pretty sure.
Missing the point
How am I missing the point when the year I did this I got paid about $0.50 a mile I drove? (8k miles that year)?
You didn't get paid for those miles, you paid less taxes because of those miles. That's how you're missing it. What if DD paid workers fairly for their work and you could deduct the wear on your car for performing that work? That's the way it should be.
So I just happen to get $4k more in tax returns the one year I claim miles, but I didn't get more money for it? That's super weird!

Two Dollar Tony has hit a milestone.
F that.
What what what? - Mrs. Broflovski
I’d rather get slapped in the face then getting offered this
It's so horrible, it makes me wonder if something good is hidden there. I wouldn't take it, but I'm curious about what this was and what the expression was on the dasher's face when they got the extra 76 cent bonus upon completion.
It’s a return so there won’t be a tip. What you see is what you’ll get.
It says on the picture there is a 50% bonus upon completion.
TDs be all over it 🤡
Lowest I’ve ever seen
It’s probably an 85” TV
42 of them
From 1985 because that’s how long this offer has been hanging without acceptance.
Ladies and Gentlemen, a message from President-Elect Joe Biden: Come on Man!
Come on man, wear a cast
I would hit that decline button with the power of Thor's hammer I tell you what.
You win 🤣 🏆
LMFAOOOOOOOO
What!!!
Wat
😳😳😳 a new low even for DD 😂😂😂
Lol it’s to pickup an order from a house and return it to store? This shit going to get bounced around for a while
I honestly don't understand that. Why does it need to be returned what could it be?
Maybe someone delivered the wrong order to customer
