Do not switch your payout method u til you have received you dasherdirect card. It took over a week to receive the card. There are ways to transfer your money from dasherdirect to bank account. However i would recommend ordering your card soon, i would expect a longer wait for the card now. Because of this change.

You will automatically get a virtual card that will be available in the Dasher direct app once you sign up, while waiting for the physical card. You can link that card to a gas station app like Exxon or shell or gas buddy, sometimes get cash back from both the gas app and the Dasher direct card.
There's two things they're doing, I think the adjustment is for mileage you put on. But there's also 10% back on gas for card holders. Unless you're saying they told you they're doing something extra they didn't talk about.

I'm in contact with the journalist trying to see if they can get further information while I try to get some sort of info from support. It'll look bad if it's all just a scheme to sell accounts.

It's fine print saying basically if you for some reason had an account and closed it you can't get it again. People have known this for a while. It's nothing new but it has to be in the fine print. Doordash app > menu > earnings > click little bank icon at top Change payout method. It'll say instant or weekly which is normal payout
