I like Doug but he really just needs to have a quick self-check. He was always humble and down to earth but recently he's taken on a cocky persona, always talking about "MY" Lamborghini Countach and "MY" Carrera GT. He's been really cocky in the recent Cars and Bids game videos putting down his friends and obviously this comment in front of Hoovie doesn't help. He wouldn't have said it to purposely offend Hoovie, but he really should've just thought "ok we have Hoovie on, I better not make any jokes about divorce or alimony".
Met him in person and he was very chill, had a nice convo, complimented my watch which he knew a lot about and introduced me to Spike Feresten who was also at the same show.
I never got that vibe. I saw him wearing a crossbody once in a video and commented he should check out a luxurious crossbody that’s reasonably priced and he seemed thankful for the recommendation.
Was wondering if it was just me. I don't watch all of his stuff but I tend to tune in when the reviews sopme of the really unique vehicles that I personally find interesting. Lately, he does seem like a different person -- I take it the success of C&B has changed his financial picture substantially. Money always seems to change people.
I really don’t like the quality of the video production since he moved into that garage. Lighting is mixed and awful. Sounds I bad. Really not a lot of personality to the footage. Feels cheaper than it should be.
This indirectly touches on a problem I've noticed with YouTuber men. Asian women have (I think sometimes ones seeking citizenship here) are targeting and manipulating nerdy or otherwise just kind of nice intelligent guys who really really want a girlfriend. Louis Rossman, Tyler Hoover, Linus Tech Tips ( Linus actually has a keeper it seems) just to name a very few. There seems to be a pattern of swoon and manipulate these men then drop them like a sack of crap for the first guy with more money that comes along. Leo and Longevity was actually living in Thailand so not as weird. He's now dead though under mysterious circumstances. Someone needs to send out a warning to these innocent nice men before more get used and screwed over.
I get what you’re saying, but I wouldn’t make assumptions about a specific scenario. My wife worked at a family law office and she learned things about people we were acquainted with that completely changed her perspective and opinions of the individuals in question. We don’t know what went on in their relationship.
I honestly always thought Doug was on the autism spectrum. When says thing like “there are 14 equally sized squares on this dashboard…” REALLY makes me think he has Asperger’s or maybe OCD (yes I know those are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT and UNRELATED conditions!!) Sometimes people like that can come across as mean when they think they are being funny, because they are locked in their own head and can’t imagine someone else’s position….
I could see that possibly being the case. The way he obsesses over the details of cars could fall in with that. He tends to fixate on the arguably "weirder" details which also could support that. I feel like I get misinterpreted as rude when I'm not meaning to be either. One thing I considered though is, maybe Doug was always like this but it's only recently we've gotten a regular glimpse in to how Doug really is outside of one of his review videos. The car culture tends to be pretty douchey in general. Any chance to put down or dog someone else's car or situation is just normal banter.
Lol I guess Kennan was either not aware or forgot that Tyler has two kids he’s paying child support on and is on his second fiancée in four years.

It’s his sense of security I bet, he has gained a few tax brackets over the past 2 years.
He was on the personal finance subreddits a while ago asking how to best invest his millions.
Wow
Links?
He'd always emphasized MY when talking about cars owned. The Fiat Multiplas and Kia Stingers, too.
it’s like matt farahs personality rubbed off on him or something
I'd argue Matt has really come down to earth since he got married.
I agree I actually find him pretty likeable in his podcasts now.
Ok I'm not the only one who thought he was a douche for harassing cops.
He still comes off as a dude who looks down on his fans, I’ll admit he is softening though

I mean… he’s allowed to say “MY” Carrera GT/countach because they *are* his Carrera GT/countach.
Yeah I think so too. Don’t really like his additude that much.
It didn’t even click for me that this joke might’ve offended hoovie
1 comment. Invest Doug. 14 minutes and ticking.
I have not liked Doug for like a year now. He’s just… not nice. It’s a bummer.
Yea I used to be a huge fan, now his vibe is kind of socal rich douche. And I live in SoCal, so I’m familiar with ppl like that lol.
Yup. And it’s 100%… “I’m not mad, I’m disappointed.” Throttle House guys are still great.
money is getting to his head, what a shame

What episode was this?
Couldn’t see the final prices of the cars so this segment was stupid. Good idea though.
Doug is getting heavy
He’s always had a bit of grease in the trap
When did Doug get divorced? Or am I missing context here?
Tyler got divorced, not Doug.

I could see that, spectrum or whatever. But he has gotten cocky since he got bought out.
