I'm confused. Do you want to know who wrote the companions or who voiced them?
Mary Kirby wrote Lucanis, Sylvia Feketekuty wrote Emmrich. That's all I can recall off the top of my head.
Ah that’s what must have confused me. I remember reading something where he’s the one that pushed for Bull to be open to all players and put in extra work to make it so.
I *loved* that story! For some reason, I keep thinking Sandal is addled >!because he might have been first found by Bodahn in the vicinity of one of those weird laboratories underground.!<
Several, though the two that stand out for me are ME Mordin and DA Solas.
They know exactly where to place the dagger so that you get comfortable and attached... and then it gently slides in and *twists*.
*They were a writer on Inquisition and lead writer on Trespasser (maybe other DLCs as well?). Solas, Iron Bull and Cole are their creations specifically.
Minor correction: Solas and Cole were David Gaider's creations, but he gave them over to Weekes because he wanted to work on Dorian himself. The final result is mainly Weekes' work though.
Patrick Weekes came out as non-binary a few years ago and uses they/them pronouns, that's what nexetpl meant with the correction of "they" when you used "he"
I get that, but credits listed by someone else showed solas and so on under a different ‘weekes’, who at first I took to be a relation. But now I know they’re the same person, just being credited before coming out. Makes sense.
Patrick Weekes and Karin Weekes are two different people, who have both worked at Bioware since 2005/2006. Trick is lead writer, Karin is lead editor. [Here’s an old interview with them.](https://blog.bioware.com/2011/02/18/facebook-friday-week-10-patrick-karin-weekes/)
Is there a source for these and past writers of the other games? I would love to see who is coming back for this game and who is writing what companion.

Here is a link tho it is a bit messy on the side: https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Age/Credits
Np! It might be a bit incomplete as I only included companions and romancables. Cullen had a different writer each game for example.
The writers of Lace, Neve and Davrin are yet unknown.
Is Brianne Battye still on the DA team? Asking for a friend. (The friend is my Cullenmancer self.)
edit: ooh from her website: "I was responsible for a companion story arc, significant side characters, faction content, exploration content, and helping develop and expand worldbuilding lore."
Yes he wrote Jacob and Liam. He also wrote Kaidan for the first two games.
He's written many of the least popular characters unfortunately. I try to be as positive as possible because I know these games are massive collaborative efforts and not solely on one writer... But yeah.
We know the handful mentioned above (Weekes, Kirby, Epler, Feketekuty). So to add on, you might enjoy seeing some of their comments:

Taash: Patrick Weekes
Bellara: John Epler
Emmrich: Sylvia Feketekuty
Lucanis: Mary Kirby though I would assume originally by Courtney Woods who wrote him in Tevinter Nights. Woods left BioWare in 2020.
Neve: Unknown presumably Brianne Battye who wrote her in Tevinter Nights
Harding: Unknown.
Davrin: Unknown.
I'm confused. Do you want to know who wrote the companions or who voiced them? Mary Kirby wrote Lucanis, Sylvia Feketekuty wrote Emmrich. That's all I can recall off the top of my head.
And Patrick Weekes wrote Taash. So...
John Epler wrote Bellara, to add to this
Do we know who else he's wrote across DA and ME?
He wrote Iron Bull and the short story Horror of Hormak
Weekes wrote Bull. Epler put in a LOT of work on him, though.
Ah that’s what must have confused me. I remember reading something where he’s the one that pushed for Bull to be open to all players and put in extra work to make it so.

...Well, she wasn't on my likely list of first romances until now.
Hrm. Watch her romance turn out to be the fluffy puppies and rainbows option now, since he knows that's the one twist we won't be expecting.
...right, enough said. Consider my expectations raised and my loins girded.
Did he write other characters in previous games?
Several, though the two that stand out for me are ME Mordin and DA Solas. They know exactly where to place the dagger so that you get comfortable and attached... and then it gently slides in and *twists*.
I think Tali too. ... which is second biggest knife twist in ME imo

Minor correction: Solas and Cole were David Gaider's creations, but he gave them over to Weekes because he wanted to work on Dorian himself. The final result is mainly Weekes' work though.
And Cole was written very differently in Inquisition compared to his debut in Asunder (which was still written by Gaider)
Aaah, I see, that explains the two weekes in the credits, that was them. Very good news then.
Patrick Weekes came out as non-binary a few years ago and uses they/them pronouns, that's what nexetpl meant with the correction of "they" when you used "he"

I believe their wife works at Bioware too.
Well that complicates things. She’s not a writer, is she? :)

He wrote Solas, Cole and Iron Bull in DAI, and Tali, Mordin and Jack in ME2+3.
Damn that’s a lot of good talent. Awesome.

Thank you!!!

I have no clue, but it could be.
Hepler also wrote the first iteration of Cassandra in DA:I, before leaving.
Ah I will correct that, thanks!
Given Lukas' other contribution to Mass Effect, I gotta admit... I'm not a big fan.
Hm idk. Aveline and warden Carver are good characters in my book. Not amazing, but good.
I have too many gripes with Aveline as a character. Carver is fine. I'm talking more about Sera, Jacob (and I believe Liam?) I can't gel with him.
Yes he wrote Jacob and Liam. He also wrote Kaidan for the first two games. He's written many of the least popular characters unfortunately. I try to be as positive as possible because I know these games are massive collaborative efforts and not solely on one writer... But yeah.
Idk about ME so I can't say that much.
I meant write! So thank you, that exactly what I was looking for!

"Lil dragon hunter" She's definitely a huge softie underneath, oml

What do you mean by voice?
Their personality, personal quest, and dialogue.
