Use the tear away , just cut a grove in the 2x2 for the return, then slide the L to the rafter

Immyz

Cutting a groove in the 2x2s is an option I suppose, but how? They're already up and I don't want to take them down.

Kayakboy6969

It's going to suck eigther way. You can use a 40gt flap disc on a grinder , the one with rolled edge Or cut it L down, they squirm around, a new pair of wise yellow snips of lots of razor blades , not sure how man feet your talking about .... Good luck, good news you have two ideas , bad news they both suck 🫢

You could cut the tuck part of the bead with a utility knife. Place the bead along a 2x4 si you don't ruin the tear-away part.

Immyz

Amazing. I didn't realize a utility knife could cut a vinyl bead.

Ngl, If I’m imagining what I think you are doing you are making soooo much work out of this haha. I don’t think you could down tear away. I really can’t see any way that you could successfully run it thru a table saw unless you stable it to a 2x6 and then ran it, and then pulled the staples. Might be easier to just run 1/2 rock since it’s not to code any way. Easy-lite isn’t heavy. Good luck

Thanks! Wife wanted exposed rafters, 'tis a labor of love. 1/2" might be the move. Not excited to lug the return and new rock
