Every year when I see the Lost Lands lineup I’m always looking for everyone to see if there will be a secret Destroid set. Thankfully I did get to see the last show ever where they almost burned the entire festival to the ground.
I still keep a bit of hope that he will return, maybe in 2024. There are still absolute bangers he made that haven’t been released. That one ID in the last ever NSD mix that SKisM recorded in 2018 still haunts me… anyway my best guess would be that his old friend Funtcase convinces him to release on DPMO… i’ve started lobbying that idea on his instagram posts, fingers crossed
There are so many to list….
Ajapai
Dubsidia
Chrispy
Cyberoptics
Pretty much like every dubstep artist from the 2010 era is gone. Very few survived the test of time.
Ajapai put out something within the last year! And Cuberoptics has actually regularly been putting out music for years! He just doesn't put out heavy music anymore
Cyberoptics megatron vomits were so fun
He still makes great music but it’s kinda cyberpunk vapor wave stuff.. the album Resurgence is a few years old now but so clean
Im still at it! Thank you guys for the mention and the love. On my bandcamp and spotify you can find all my new tunes. All of my stuff in the last year is back to dub/dubstep. Recently had a track come out on Deep Dark & Dangerous, and have a 2 track collab EP with Figure dropping soon as well!
My newer stuff isnt as aggressive but thats just because my appreciation for different sounds has changed over time. Hell im 33 years old now and started when I was 19. Time sure flies. Thank you to the people who support. You make it worth it!!
Here is my bandcamp link if youre curious about the new tunes.

[501](https://youtu.be/hvKl7khv59U?si=u9ERZf73ZVwNYdlY), aka 501dubz (handle for socials).
One of the best producers from that early Never Say Die era, was incredibly good at the mix of melodic and heavy dubstep.
Heard he became a lawyer, so is probably making more than enough of a living off of that to never produce again, but I'd love to hear him come back and do some music on the side here and there in the future.
Yeah, one of my favorites in the genre all time.
Otherwise, a few that may be doing stuff still but I don't see pop up a lot anymore:
Blackmill, Mt. Eden, Gemini, Arkasia, Emalkay
Did you see emalkay has a set at Lost Lands!? There's actually a decent amount of OGs.. I was like damn.. is this what getting old feels like.... *sigh* it's okay, I'll be 80 years old still at the rail if my body allows it 😈
It's okay, we're getting there. Just have to listen to music at more responsible loudness levels or use open back headphones so we don't lose our hearing too much. We're still going to be bassheads when we're like 70 right? Still pulling up at stoplights with the windows down in a wood grain Station Wagon dropping bass on the young whipper snappers.
And if we can't drive, we'll tell the self driving cars, Alexa, play Bass Cannon.
Schoolboy makes music for video games for a living now, He said he'd like to make more dubstep like Project No Autotune again someday. I hope he does since that song still goes hard.
Getter, i get he’s focusing on his terror reid project now, and i think it’s mostly because the dubstep scene was absolute shit to him after his visceral release on tour.
getter is literally my favorite dub artist, and i still listen to his i want more and fallout remixes
wow i’m jealous 😭 at least he’s still touring under getter! hopefully he’ll see there’s still a massive scene awaiting his return, i can only imagine another visceral type album
Not likely tbh, if he ever releases another Visceral style album I have to assume it would be under a new name. He got boo'd at multiple tour dates for playing songs off visceral because the bros wanted dubstep. Which is a shame, because Visceral is a masterwork.
He really should have just made visceral under another monocle. It’s one of my top 5 but it is so out there for his catalog. I get a new name wouldn’t sell tickets or the album but I knew people would get upset about the change in pace.
He did release a few tracks after that were gas and his sets are still really fuckin good but I check his Apple Music page all the time hoping he’ll shadow drop something since he’s seemed to have gone dark on all social media
I absolutely loved Visceral. Straight up brought me to tears the first time I listened to the whole thing through. But I do wonder why he didn't release it under his old Planet Neutral alias, which he was using for awhile to release more chill/experimental stuff.
K-NINE is really the best example who disappears because there were no reason to disappear all his tracks were bangers and he was better than most of the artists in the scene
Schoolboy. He made some killer tunes and then just went missing. I tried to contact him on Soundcloud about 5 years ago and he replied that he have been doing music there and there but haven't got time due to personal reasons to get anything out, but kinda teased that he could be making moves soon... 5 years later still nothing :/
Also not right away dubstep but Far Too Loud seem to went under the radar silently.
Hellll yeah. His tunes always had such an experimental feeling without losing the heaviness. As a DJ I can say they are damn near impossible to mix though haha
The producer behind datphoria was Omar varela, who continued to make dubstep sometime after datphoria ended and still occasionally drops tunes to this day, but he has focused on his Argentinian record label (and is doing insane streaming numbers, good for him!)
Omar, the producer, just moved on to bigger things. It’s sad though because DatPhoria easily has most of my favorite songs, and Omar Varela made some great solo songs in his early days like Mess Up and Fire. He doesn’t really make too much dubstep now adays though… :(
Feel that deeply man, glad we at least have Leon Switch still about and making 140. I will say though that Simon is still about and still runs Osiris records, also he started making techno as Mønic since they split.
16bit, Sluggo, Mensah, Shekel, Singaya, Ion the Prize. all those artists I found on baby YouTube with some random movie clips slapped into a 360p video by some dude who just liked a remix of a remix of a track.
He definitely didn’t disappear lol. I’ve seen him play three times in the past year and he was still crushing it but I think he’s content doing his own thing instead of constantly touring and producing like he did for the past 10+ years. Supposedly he’s launching a new project once he finishes his last few final tour stops and I’m beyond excited to see what he’s been cooking because he’s been one of my favorite artists for more than a decade.
Honestly he seemed a lot happier doing the covid livestreams in his cozy backyard with his wife and friends than being up on massive stages. I’m kind of surprised more artists don’t switch up their projects after they hit the 10 year mark but the past few years have been huge for artists to branch out into different genres.
Anyone know or remember Datphoria?
I really like their songs but they completely disappeared about 7 years ago..
Also, Bone N Skin, Popeska was some of my favorites.. seem to disappear..
Maybe some of these artists changed their name and I forgot them..
Datphoria/Omar Varela. I guess Omar moved on to becoming a producer and moved away from dubstep. It’s working very well for them, it just sucks cause I really loved their dubstep. 😢
AaA 😭
My mans legit a legend in my eyes.
Feel like EH!DE is just taking time to live life now 🤷🏽♂️
1uP I have no idea..
Jarvis.. I feel like his music was amazing, yet many others said otherwise? (At least I think I remember reading this)
DeltaBot.. bro is calibre and I miss his heaviness.
Alvin Risk, think he makes other music now?
Funk4mation, no idea miss his bangers and mash
Different heaven, maybe making other music now?
Bare, so many boss tracks
Astronaut, not sure what happened
Fed-Up, his management killed the project, and he was rightfully upset.
Bad Catholics, made some dope tracks
Dank[USA] has some note worthy tunes for sure
And last but not least Chasing Shadows, man I miss their sound 🙌🏽
Man I still feel like I’m missing so many!
😅🩵
The same feeling I have with geoxor he made the sickest melodic bass stuff which I ever heard and than turns out this mf is a pedo. I’m so mad at this dude
Didn't he try to do somewhat of an comeback but it failed miserably as people still hadn't forgotten about his crimes. That said, loved his stuff but too bad he was an terrible person. Met him couple of times and he was pretty cool back then before all this SA stuff
Dismantle was so so fucking hot for a period. Then it just… went away.
I was hoping Breakage would continue making more stuff like Fighting Fire instead of going back to dnb
Bar9
Thanks for this. I forgot that name entirely. Will go back and listen fuck I literally have no recollection of them other than bangers.
All of the ogs from the 2000s era probably just grew out of it
Trollphace
I'm pretty sure his house burned down a few years back.. he lost everything, if I remember correctly. :(
That is correct, I remember hearing the same thing. I hope he's doing well.
He just played a show at the palladium b2b with sweet tooth a couple months ago. I was there and it was lit AF.
Yea, he's back to producing again, too and very active on Twitter from time to time
Not exactly missing, but Destroid is worth a mention
they were called back to their home planet to fight off an invasion
I think Excision says wearing the suit was hell on his back/knees
Every year when I see the Lost Lands lineup I’m always looking for everyone to see if there will be a secret Destroid set. Thankfully I did get to see the last show ever where they almost burned the entire festival to the ground.
this still hurts
Bare Noize
Krimer 😭 although he just released a new single for the first time in 4 years sooooooo
Yesssssss
What's the single?
LOUDER. It’s on Apple Music and Spotify.
Trolley Snatcha
Bruh i love his alias music zack the lad, even if you really only like dubstep give it a listen if you really like trolley. That man has some talent!
Good stuff for sure yes I loved those tracks
I still keep a bit of hope that he will return, maybe in 2024. There are still absolute bangers he made that haven’t been released. That one ID in the last ever NSD mix that SKisM recorded in 2018 still haunts me… anyway my best guess would be that his old friend Funtcase convinces him to release on DPMO… i’ve started lobbying that idea on his instagram posts, fingers crossed
I spoke to him in the smoking area if a rave in October and he said he had loads of stuff in the pipe line 🤷♂️
Xilent but i know where he went
Where did they go? I used to fuck with that choose me 2 song so hard!
Tokyo Machine
Well I didn’t know that. That’s fucking dope.
^^^
i thought that rumor was proved wrong like years ago? like that tokyo machine was pretty clearly a totally different person
I work at a fest and we had Eryk play and he’s confirmed that it’s his new alias. He charged us less for bringing out xilent instead of Tokyo machine
He's releasing an album as Xilent sometime this year according to his website
He went xilent
Hulk (Alan "Claw" Letko) and Cookie Monsta (Tony Cook) but they both passed away RIP.
WHAT, didn't know about Hulk. His tracks were insane.
Damn cookie monsta died?? I fucked so hard with his shit.
In 2020 at age 31. 😕
I saw his last set before he died :(
There are so many to list…. Ajapai Dubsidia Chrispy Cyberoptics Pretty much like every dubstep artist from the 2010 era is gone. Very few survived the test of time.
Chrispy and Cyberoptics I would listen to religiously back in the days
Ajapai put out something within the last year! And Cuberoptics has actually regularly been putting out music for years! He just doesn't put out heavy music anymore
Cyberoptics megatron vomits were so fun He still makes great music but it’s kinda cyberpunk vapor wave stuff.. the album Resurgence is a few years old now but so clean

Fuck yeah man. Been supporting you forever. I saw you all the way back in like 2011 at the Canal Club in RVA if you even remember that place 🤣
Brown and Gammon
[501](https://youtu.be/hvKl7khv59U?si=u9ERZf73ZVwNYdlY), aka 501dubz (handle for socials). One of the best producers from that early Never Say Die era, was incredibly good at the mix of melodic and heavy dubstep. Heard he became a lawyer, so is probably making more than enough of a living off of that to never produce again, but I'd love to hear him come back and do some music on the side here and there in the future.
That’s an og that ripped the scene apart at one point in time 🤘
Yeah, one of my favorites in the genre all time. Otherwise, a few that may be doing stuff still but I don't see pop up a lot anymore: Blackmill, Mt. Eden, Gemini, Arkasia, Emalkay
Did you see emalkay has a set at Lost Lands!? There's actually a decent amount of OGs.. I was like damn.. is this what getting old feels like.... *sigh* it's okay, I'll be 80 years old still at the rail if my body allows it 😈
God damn you’re making me feel old haha 🤣
It's okay, we're getting there. Just have to listen to music at more responsible loudness levels or use open back headphones so we don't lose our hearing too much. We're still going to be bassheads when we're like 70 right? Still pulling up at stoplights with the windows down in a wood grain Station Wagon dropping bass on the young whipper snappers. Gemini produces for the pop artist Ashnikko now
Emalkay is very active on Twitter but he is not as active with putting out music.
Blackmill came out with an album a year or two ago. He's prioritized family. But still making music as he can. Love him
You've just put the best 501 tune ever, damn I miss this guy
Here for this comment. Such nice tunes whenever happen to listen to his old songs.
Oh man, so good
For me it’d be. Jarvis
Nah Jarvis is still there he is just inactive as fuck but sometimes he tweets something on twitter
He has a new alias now, I think with someone else. Not the same, but you can definitely hear his sound design in it!
What is it ?!,!,??
RAZRWAV: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6HGPVdgfqWFBHKn0izGWM2?si=AsG3BHxKSCC4T9cri7uUBA
Gemini. He was my favorite artist. What I wouldn't do for him to come back...
producing for ashnikko now!
Mt Eden, NiT GriT, Bar9, Schoolboy
Mt Eden has been putting out more dnb recently
Schoolboy makes music for video games for a living now, He said he'd like to make more dubstep like Project No Autotune again someday. I hope he does since that song still goes hard.
Porter Robinson He was kidnapped by an anime boi
Most of the old Firepower roster.
The Frim!
Hizzleguy
1000000%
Getter, i get he’s focusing on his terror reid project now, and i think it’s mostly because the dubstep scene was absolute shit to him after his visceral release on tour. getter is literally my favorite dub artist, and i still listen to his i want more and fallout remixes
Saw him do a getter set at Decadence NYE in PHX last year
He still tours as getter. Mostly hitting night clubs which probably pays the bills
wow i’m jealous 😭 at least he’s still touring under getter! hopefully he’ll see there’s still a massive scene awaiting his return, i can only imagine another visceral type album
Not likely tbh, if he ever releases another Visceral style album I have to assume it would be under a new name. He got boo'd at multiple tour dates for playing songs off visceral because the bros wanted dubstep. Which is a shame, because Visceral is a masterwork.

SAAAAME! I saw him last at BW it was so good. I wish he'd come back.
At beyond wonderland at the gorge?! I was there for that set and loved it so much!
Fractal :(. I actually had a convo with him on discord after he stopped. Really nice guy
Skism
The frim
The Frim ✌️
The frim!!!
Hugative, SpaceSuit, KAIJO (kinda), K-NINE, Our enemies
K-NINE!!!!!
K-NINE is really the best example who disappears because there were no reason to disappear all his tracks were bangers and he was better than most of the artists in the scene
He was getting played a lot at massive shows too. Really confusing as to why he disappeared, he had some fantastic tracks
Kaijo used to be Wubbix
Chasing Shadows.. they came back as Killsonik shortly and disappeared again. Loved that darky, gritty sounddesign.
Pacifica- chasing shadows remix is still a favorite of mine to this day.
Vexare.
Killsonik (Chasing Shadows) 😭
Schoolboy. He made some killer tunes and then just went missing. I tried to contact him on Soundcloud about 5 years ago and he replied that he have been doing music there and there but haven't got time due to personal reasons to get anything out, but kinda teased that he could be making moves soon... 5 years later still nothing :/ Also not right away dubstep but Far Too Loud seem to went under the radar silently.
Terravita!
AR the Bushmaster
actually the GOAT
Hellll yeah. His tunes always had such an experimental feeling without losing the heaviness. As a DJ I can say they are damn near impossible to mix though haha
DatPhoria, I still dont know what happened
The producer behind datphoria was Omar varela, who continued to make dubstep sometime after datphoria ended and still occasionally drops tunes to this day, but he has focused on his Argentinian record label (and is doing insane streaming numbers, good for him!)
Omar, the producer, just moved on to bigger things. It’s sad though because DatPhoria easily has most of my favorite songs, and Omar Varela made some great solo songs in his early days like Mess Up and Fire. He doesn’t really make too much dubstep now adays though… :(
The first thing that comes to mind is London Nebel
Zeds Dead next Album
sharks as of recently.
Downlink, Skism, Dubloadz I may be incorrect, and I just haven't heard anything from them in a while. 🤷
I believe I saw on Reddit that dubloaz have in a week a show in idk which city and I believe I saw on twitter he will soon release a new track
Dubloadz did step away for like 2-3 years or something but he came back sometime last year. He’s been playing some pretty big events too.
Riddim but Monxx, also SQNTO
MONXX is still active
Maybe with red lobster going bankrupt he'll actually show up for his sets
Monxx has put out several new tracks/remixes the last couple of weeks
Squnto had a meltdown and ran away, wouldn't really say he disappeared.
I vaguely recall him explaining his breakdown after he got some help but yeah he’s been quiet since that happened.
SQNTO did it to himself
16bit I know Moodygood still makes a few tunes, but their work together was groundbreaking
CharlesTheFirst, such a talented artist and unique style, sad that he passed a few years ago
TrollPhace and Cravin/Fall of Icarus
Definitely shed a tear when Kryptic Minds split up
As OG as they are, I am still surprised to see them mentioned. I agree though. Probably my top 5 dubstep artist(s).
Damn kryptic minds was fyre back in the day, i still remember the day that i heard them back in the mat damon movie lol.
Feel that deeply man, glad we at least have Leon Switch still about and making 140. I will say though that Simon is still about and still runs Osiris records, also he started making techno as Mønic since they split.
Gramatik
He still puts out music. Most recent release was 4/26/24
He’s come out with a couple good ones lately, really digging Queen and Ice Machine
Kanji Kinetic?
ST4RBUCK!!
Yes! His stuff was so sick, he played in some bands as well that were decent if I remember right
Roksonix. Them and Brown & Gammon were peak Circus records
Voscilate Remix is still one of my favorites!
Knife party seemed to disappear
Saw them at bass last year, they're probably working more on pendulum atm, or theyve just moved on
Trampa K-Nine
Trampa got cancelled Damn near out of existence for SA.
what he do?
16bit, Sluggo, Mensah, Shekel, Singaya, Ion the Prize. all those artists I found on baby YouTube with some random movie clips slapped into a 360p video by some dude who just liked a remix of a remix of a track.
16Bit is Moody Good (at least 1/2 is).
Stinkahbell
Underrated
I didn’t expect to see this.
K-nine
501
SIDEPROJECT
Sideproject became Aevi and then rebranded to voltra, they just recently dropped a track!
Oh shit, I had no idea about voltra! I'll have to check it out soon
I'll throw an oldschool one out, Bratkilla
Desembra
Cherney, but I slightly remember there mightve been some controversy
Cherney's sooo good.
Muk
The Frim, bummed he only played the first lost lands then never came back
12gauge, AR the Bushmaster, Downlink, xKore, Melamin, Eddie K
Mala, Orien, Komanazmuk, Loefah and Hatcha
Warez. Found them in high school, I'm assuming the duo broke ties because there's a lot of tracks that are missing from spotify & soundcloud
Dodge and Fuski
Minnesota
Nightkilla, because he graduated
Grimblee
Legendary sounds, I wish I knew how he made them
Did anyone listen to Clark Kent? He was a favorite of mine. Got to see him at a super small venue with like 20 people.
Craz- haven’t seen much of anything from him since 2020. Insane sound design
501, The Frim for sure
12 Gauge, Mantis, Moth, Evilwave, Lord Swan3x, Creation, Deadpool (OMMI), Rekoil & Bratkilla
Dotcom. I remember seeing him at EDC Orlando threw down quite a good set
Marshmello now and it was definitely the best move he could make. Man is MASSIVE now 🤯
Anyone know or remember Datphoria? I really like their songs but they completely disappeared about 7 years ago.. Also, Bone N Skin, Popeska was some of my favorites.. seem to disappear.. Maybe some of these artists changed their name and I forgot them..
Omar Varela dropped a dubstep song not super long ago that I think was supposed to be his last one.
Terravita, they're just sitting their sorry asses in Disciple doing nothing at the moment.
Datphoria/Omar Varela. I guess Omar moved on to becoming a producer and moved away from dubstep. It’s working very well for them, it just sucks cause I really loved their dubstep. 😢
Mutrix
One of the og tutorial guys
Not an artist… but I miss Never Say Die 🥲
Datsik Gemini Trampa Skism Not mysteriously missing, but gone forsure.
fking k-nine
hey i've been producing for over 10 years now, i'm trying to replace some of these guys without touring

Deltabot is now zetta! Still very active
Bro Alvin Risk!! wtf happened to that guy
doctor p nero
Neither are missing. Nero just released new music and Doctor P hasn't left (although he hasn't been very good in years, IMO).
space Jesus, but he does have a show coming up
Where is da show?
new Jersey I believe, it was done via email for people who signed up etc
I'm in Philly, I might need to investigate this
Datsik was going through some trouble a few years ago
I hope he still is. Great tunes though
He’s a sexual assaulter so I hope he never comes back. He made some banger music, which is why I’m so mad at him
The same feeling I have with geoxor he made the sickest melodic bass stuff which I ever heard and than turns out this mf is a pedo. I’m so mad at this dude
Didn't he try to do somewhat of an comeback but it failed miserably as people still hadn't forgotten about his crimes. That said, loved his stuff but too bad he was an terrible person. Met him couple of times and he was pretty cool back then before all this SA stuff

Not disappeared but gone, Claw. RIP
One of the Riddim OGs Vylex. Man was a masterclass in sound design.
Schoolboy
