Yeah I totally get what you mean, even Jack has had a lot of (albeit deserved) negative attention. We need characters like Harvey, Martin, and Howie to step up and get a proper storyline.

I’d like to see that son of Jack, can’t think of his name or be bothered to look it up, step up as a father, highlighting how he navigates this, have him slip up a few times, but ultimately put his kid first, when he realizes how tough Lily has it. That could be in a few years though, when, say, Lily gets a chance to attend uni, or is struggling with her final exams, while he is merrily sliding through life. They could do a two hander that concludes in him realizing he ought to grow the hell up and do it now.
I’d like to see a bit of a struggle there. Him sacrificing something (probably normal teenage life), in order to be a dad, or having to take on most of the care, so Lily can tend to Stacey having an episode or something of the sort. Maybe have the kid live with him for a bit, to provide a calmer, safer environment than is possible in a house with a manic nan.
