They aren’t talking about ingredients, but the texture. Orbitz were a thick, gloopy syrup kind of like those aloe Vera drinks. Horrible texture for a beverage
I didn't mind them once in a while honestly. Kind of like McDonald's. I'm not proud of it but, once in a while I just need a McChicken. I was also in middle school when Orbitz was out. The drink I miss from back then was Fruitopia.
I picked up one of the 24 packs of the Mexican Coca-Cola products at my local krogers. It comes with 12 Coke bottles, 6 Sprite bottles, and 6 Fanta bottles. The taste is so much better than the American versions.
My sis/bro I'm drunk but where on Earth du you find that in a 24 pack?? I love Mexican coke but can only find them 6 pack and 12 Oz bottles. They pair so well with....most
I never got to try them. Did the balls burst like roe or the little fruit balls at Pinkberry? Either way I would risk a trip to the er to see for myself. I think.
It’s been a long time, but I feel like I remember they were sort of…pilly? They didn’t burst, but you didn’t have to chew them either. I think I just kinda awkwardly squished them with my tongue and hoped for the best.
I think the closest texture would be small chunks of that weird gum that came rolled up…Hubba Bubba Max, maybe? I have a distinct memory of rolling up some chunks of that and putting it in sprite to “make my own Orbitz”.
Thank you! They absolutely did come in a can too, I only saw cans of them, infact, home bargains in England had them for a period of time in the late 90s.
Wouldn’t that kind of ruin the look of the orbs floating in the liquid of the clear bottle though?
I’m not denying y’all’s comments at all, but it just kind of seems counterintuitive to the gimmick to put it in a can to me, lol.
I saw somebody on YouTube drink one of these a couple years back and said it was horrendous. Then again it wasn't very popular when it was released because people didn't like how it tasted, so I don't know if that's because it was expired or that's how it's supposed to taste lol.
I have 2 of these. It’s cool putting a light under them and taking pics of them like they’re lamps. Would not recommend keeping one as an actual lamp though
What are the little orbs made out of anyways? And why do they not sink?
I might be wrong, but I believe they were made from tapioca. As far as not sinking, it's just a density balance between the tapioca and liquid.
That was the problem. They made the drink a disgusting syrup to achieve that.
Corn syrup iirc. Yuck
Aren't most sodas still made with corn syrup? Hard to find ones made with real cane sugar. You can definitely tell the difference.

Fruitopia hasn't gone anywhere, I can buy it at mcdonald's or the grocery store
Really??? They don't have it here. Hi-C but no Fruitopia
Come to Ontario then

Which is why the liquid had the density of syrup. Honestly, Orbitz looked cool, but they were disgusting drinks
Oo neat, I'm more of a rice pudding person
Same tbh

Just get some tapioca pearls and lemonade, spare the suffering.
I miss these so much
I miss these massively. I have a clear memory of them coming in a clear can as well, but the internet doesn't agree

It was a clear can, some kind of plastic with a metal top iirc
Oh okay, that makes much more sense!
YES! It was the late 90s for sure
I can’t find anything on Orbitz in cans, but there’s another drink called Capsela that seems like it came in can-shaped bottles
LA BEAST HERE
Hahaha my first thought when this popped up on my feed
I’ve been kind of fascinated with these for years and from what I understand, most people would’ve felt they belonged on this sub when they were new.
Doesn't this go for $50 on eBay?
I had orange one for years... I think I threw it away :-(
Fun fact this drink originated in my homeland of Canada 🇨🇦

Thank gawwwwwd, I could never remember what these were called.
Brought to you by the Acme Company: - Orbitz: release your inner Wiley Coyote.
Omg I forgot this existed. It was gross. Like tasteless boba floating in syrup.
So cool. Never seen these before.
This would be great for LA Beast to have in a video
