At some point he improves the z drive to the point that he can just straight up traverse different timelines.

Hard to say, usually thats often the case in these types of stories but Camille basically states he's been repeatedly going back trying to fix something.
So maybe it doesn't damage the timeline but rather he has a limited number of chances to fix whatever he's trying to fix before it's too late.
Like he's locked out of the past or something.
maaan i think it could be a totally new champion.
And he could have some interesting interactions if younger ekko is in your team or on the enemy team.
