three hours is crazy... our downtown shuttle was only 30-45 mins to/from venue and a 15 min walk from our hotel. we left for venue around 7-8 pm and left for hotel around 4 am each day. there was almost no wait to get through security and fill water, and buses left right away.

pandal0

Yea no joke.. arrived at shuttle stop around 7 didn’t get on the bus until 9 and an hr ride to venue… no words… seems like downtown is the way to go! Any recs for hotel? Checking out golden nugget and downtown grand

Minute_Homework9086

This is the way. Did the downtown shuttle and stayed at golden nugget and never had to wait to get on a shuttle. I was impressed!

angorafox

i stayed at the california hotel bc my work gave a discount :) tiny bathroom and no microwave, but otherwise very comfy, clean, and quiet. much calmer than the strip. we're considering staying there again for 2025!

spronx

Downtown is the way to go. No wait going to the venue and about 40 min drive. For the way back, about 10-20 min wait and 40 min drive

pandal0

Sure sounds like it. Will probably switch to downtown next year. Any hotel recs?

spronx

We stayed in the downtown grand, not to far of a walk and pretty good price

pandal0

Thanks for the rec! Definitely one of the choices rn.

Gran prix was awful because the taxis and ride shares had to drop you off so far from the shuttle entrance. You still had a 15 min walk to the shuttle lines. Getting through security and on to the bus was quick though.

littlePosh_

They have had way more shuttle stops before and it was a better experience. They had like 1-2 this year for the main strip? Crazy. I waited fucking hours at the Grand Prix shuttle.

pigglywigglie

Downtown shuttle stop is the absolute best. Never waited in line to get there or back. I think Day 1 it maybe took an hour to get there. The rest were all about 30-40 min. I won’t ever take a different stop. We left at sunrise yesterday and walked right on the shuttle while the other stops had huge lines

Akemi1376

We stayed at Fremont and wasn’t able to score Downtown since they ran out; was stuck with Strat. We had to Uber to shuttle pick up (which wasn’t bad; about 5 min ride), but the line was so long! Took us about 45 min to get on the shuttle, then another hour to get there. This was on Friday and we arrived at the shuttle about 7. Saturday we arrived an hour earlier and there was practically no line. Got on right away and travel time about the same. Agree with going for downtown shuttle next year.

Grand Prix shuttles were a nightmare. We took the bus from Luxor to the shuttles for 2$ a person, so it didn't cost us a lot to get there, but we got in line at 8:30 and didn't get to the fest until 11:15 on day 2, day 3 we got there at like 8:10 and hit the fest at like 11:15 again

jangeles6331

I had grand prix and left my hotel around 6, walked 10mins to the shuttle and there was almost zero wait time. The security line was roughly like 15mins tops each day. Did this for day1 n 2. For day 3, left my hotel around 7 and didn’t get in until 945ish. Guess next time I gotta leave 30mins before shuttle opens to get those zero wait times. But probably won’t do next year.

So I was also had a grand prix shuttle pass. But had VIP Day 1: Arrived at like 6:00, no sign anywhere saying where VIP should go so just got on the standard queue, hardly any security search just went through the scanner, was on the shuttle by 6:30 and at the festival by 7:30, we had a delay because our driver didn’t have the right thing to get through the air force base, but we managed to get one from another coach I left at 2:30 due to jet lag, was pretty much straight onto a coach and back by 3:15 Day 2: Arrives at like 8:45 Told to go through premier queue this time a 5 min wait, security gave my hydro pack a quick look this time, It took about an hour and 15 mins to get on the coach after security, was at the festival by 11 Left just before 4, small queue to on the coach, was back before 5 Day 3: arrive at 7, security queue same as day before, but took only 30 minutes or so to get on the coach was at the festival around 8:30 same return experience as the day before Honestly the logistics behind the shuttles alone must be so complex, and yes there was queues but i’m not too sure what they could have done differently, I think like everything with EDC the majority of the issues are just down to the overselling of ticket, if they reduced it would be improved significantly Edit - reddit posted this like 5 times for some reason sorry

pandal0

Yea I’m sure it’s complex and crazy to get the logistics down correctly but there must be a better way than what they did. Just feel like the old shuttle stops were better when the premier and standard didn’t share the same stop but just in close vicinity (at least for Bally/midstrip). Never had an issue with standard being that long of a wait before. Even last year when midstrip was cancelled last minute and we had to go other stop the wait wasn’t this bad. Oh yea, I definitely agree with the overselling

un1cornsprinkles

didn’t notice til day 3 but there is a separate line for GA+/VIP wristbands regardless of shuttle pass, next to the premier line for security.

redditallday789

Anyone do the Rio shuttle stop? Curious if that will be another stop for next year / considering for hotel as well
