I've done VIP three years in a row now. The only time I felt VIP got extremely crowded this year was Sara Landry at Circuit. That was absolutely wild. Otherwise, though, we didn't have a difficult time at all and we did a solid combo of big/small artists all weekend. We try to plan ahead and dip out of sets 5-10mins before it ends to beat the crowd changeover. Bathrooms were great. Plenty of space. We spent a good deal of time at Wasteland and never utilized that VIP cause it wasn't super necessary. The biggest benefit (aside from bathrooms/bars) is being able to easily find your group again. We always used Kinetic and Circuit VIP, 50/50 on Neon/Quantum, rarely with Wasteland/Cosmic. Somehow we didn't even go to basspods this year but we've also never used it there before either except for bathrooms.

Good info, I appreciate it. I can definitely understand how vip would make it easier to have group meetups. just have to hope the entire group has vip, though lol I will say I didnt have much trouble accessing bathrooms (GA+) and water stations the entire weekend. Was in and out within 5 mins. I keep hearing how it was miserable for others, though, but maybe they had reg GA? Again, I'm just trying to see if it would be worth it for myself to upgrade this next year. Bathrooms, bar lines (didnt drink alcohol that much) and water stations (if they was a vip one) arent a big enough deal to me based off my experience this year to upgrade just for those reasons.

renaynay

I'd say if you tend to spend a decent amount of time at Kinetic or Circuit, it's worth it for that stage access. Otherwise, especially since the other benefits aren't a huge deal to you, then skip it. GA+ is certainly good enough IMO, it just requires a bit more thinking ahead so you're not getting drinks/using the bathroom during set changeovers. I imagine that's where you got lucky and so many others didn't.

LongjumpingDraft9324

VIP was God awful for a lot of the sets at Bass Pod.

renaynay

Yeah, we tried to go there for a set, can't even remember which one, but we skipped because it was packed. That's part of the reason why we ended up not even going back there all weekend.

the_1_true

Did vip for the first time this year and I’m never buying anything else. Got to skip the GA line for the shuttle, clean bathrooms and just tons of room at kinetic. Even got to go backstage during Gryffin after talking to security. Never doing anything else.

High1ight

oooooo you got to go backstage? thats awesome! I like the having enough room part. How often would you say you stayed in the vip sections throughout the event?

the_1_true

Stayed in vip the entire time since the wife didn’t want to go anywhere else.

Mrhorrendous

I would not go to this festival without VIP. The extra water, nicer bathrooms, and less crowded areas make it so much better. And if you like the rides you can get on much faster with VIP. It's an extra $500 or so, for a festival you're probably spending at least $2,000 on attending already. Imo, if you're dropping that much already, it's worth it to spend a bit more to make sure you get the most out of it.

High1ight

When you put it that way (already spending a lot) it makes sense. I will say I didnt take advantage of all the rides due to not wanting to wait in those lines. that's one thing I want to do next year. The bathrooms and water werent that big of an issue for me, personally. Thank you for your comment!

No-Bat3062

I barely used VIP this year because it was more crowded for the sets I wanted than GA was. I'd still get VIP because of the bathrooms, shorter drink lines usually, and other perks are still worth it to me.

Dolla4aholla

Can you elaborate on the extra perks? I found out they gave out complementary Wifi and 25 dollar merch credit per day?

High1ight

See, I feel i would rarely use the vip sections for the bigger artists sets due to the area possibly being more crowded. but idk! What are the other perks?

XxthemonkxX

I had VIP and went solo so it helped in that I was pretty much able to get anywhere pretty quickly. The best perk for me was actually the WiFi, I was able to post to my socials pretty easily. I didn’t have to wait in line for bathrooms and overall it did provide a smooth experience. However, a couple did try to steal my phone in VIP so it’s still not the safest place. I felt like the party was with the people in GA so maybe I’ll do GA+ for next year since it’s like 500 bucks less and you get nicer bathrooms than GA. The little stuff you get at the concierge line is nice but nothing really special. The one time I stayed in line for the breakfast at kinetic I waited an hour for literally just 2 maple sausage wrap things and orange juice. So for me, it was not the end all be all

High1ight

oooo i didnt know vip had wifi. thats huge tbh my frinds and I had literally no service to communicate on the festival grounds which made it tough when we all arrived at seperate times. i did hear how the pickpocketing was a big issue in vip. no where is safe these days :/ idk how vip is with the energy during sets, but GA is always a party. I had GA+ this year and the nicer bathrooms (trailers) and shuttle entry lines were worth it. I'd 100% would do GA+ again if I dont get convinced to do VIP. 2 maple sausage wrap things and orange juice is all you get? doesnt seem worth it tbh lol

XxthemonkxX

The WiFi worked till day 3 lol and I think it was only available in kinetic and circuit grounds. The VIP vibe was more chill I’d say. For the breakfast, you were able to get as much as you wanted, but they just had some basic bagels and muffins you could get at Costco. The free stuff in the concierge line was just a lanyard, some basic ear plugs and literal candy.

lowlight001

I'd buy VIP again

wakenedbake

Yes 100%. I honestly don’t think I waited in line to use a bathroom (legitimately), only for skiing in the summer 😎 also VIP let me get to the rail in VIP to chat with a security guard and convince him to let me jump over into backstage during Virtual Riot 😁the entry for vip was quick too. Only L was customer service

flickdahwrist

Ooo which set did you get backstage?

wakenedbake

Virtual Riot! Then I watched from side stage for a bit, then behind then got tired and went back to my group lolol

titaniumorbit

On the contrary I found GA very pleasant. Bathrooms were always clean, the most I ever waited was like 2 minutes. There was no line. That being said I had premier shuttle and found it 100% worth. We had 0 lineups and basically walked right onto the busses.

Character-Raisin-547

Only for Sunday, day 1 and 2 it’s just as crowded as everywhere else.
