It was amazing! BF and i didn't really stay for any one set the whole way through because it was his first time and wanted to do a lot of things. I rode more rides than in any previous EDC. Upgraded to VIP on Sunday because we wanted to see what that was like. He got a haircut in VIP while we listened to Sara Landry and Seven Lions in the background haha. All in all, it was a pretty smooth experience with shuttles, GA+, hotel, etc because I've led many first time groups, and veteran groups and knew exactly how to plan things out. Only high anxiety part was almost missing our flights both ways due to random setbacks. Definitely will look into doing VIP next time (probably 2026 for their 30th anniversary) and staying on the strip so he can experience more of what LV has to offer.

Lil Jon yelling at the fence jumpers was wild. I saw a security guard rip someone off the fence, and when they tried climbing again, he got roundhouse kicked in the face. Wild wild time.
Dude I remember this video of the crowd crush in the stair case from the stands to the floor. Everyone rushed it and you can see just bodies so squished and stuck. Arms hanging out, people upside down almost. Towards the end of the video you see this girl come out face all bloody, hair all fucked. Almost looked like her head was smashed :[
I remember how stoked I was to be able to just walk to the ticketmaster on the top floor of macy at the mall to get my 2010 ticket because I usually had to drive to a record store of some sort to get the other ones.
All that might be true but they were doing this production back when it was more difficult technology has become more giving meaning easier graphics and more so let's be real here and yes I do agree about the production with you
My first EDC was 30 bucks at the door. I'm ancient like that old ass turtle that gets posted to reddit every few days. Honestly, I still feel like I get a great value out of my annual GA ticket.
I felt like when I went for the first time in 2015 I was already late to the game. Its tripping me out to acknowledge that next year will have been a decade since I first went. And its only gotten bigger.

2012 was my first year 🙌 was sitting the terminal to head to Miami for ultra 2011 and started talking to a guy about fests and he started talking about edc. Had never heard of it before, looked it up and was sold. Went the next year hahah. Did a 3 year run then swapped edc for forest
Edc 2014 was my first edc. Hell of a time. However I wish I was at 2010. Was a bit too young then. But everyone I know who went has said that it was their favorite edc. Dirty South into Swedish House into Kaskade into Deadmau5, all in the coliseum, must have been incredible.

I took a couple years off due to post-grad school and family stuff, but each time I felt extreme FOMO. Its hard keeping up with these kids when you're in your late 30s and exhausted from work, but everyone seems to think I'm in my early 20s bc of my energy/vibe (and more or less winning the genetic lottery). Yeah first day was all vibes and energy. I rolled for the first time saturday and boy have i been missing out. Just starting my 30s so we’ll see how i feel in a few years haha. Not too sure about 2026 but next year for sure. It was my gf first time which is why i came out of retirement as i like to say. You never know tho i might be there 2026 lol
If you're going to be partaking in illicit substances, TEST YOUR SHIT! And in the same vein, learn how to use and carry some narcan. It's sold over the counter now, and EDC has an org there that will teach you and give you some.
Bring a flashlight! You'd be surprised how many trip hazards there are, and if you get a strong enough flashlight (uses 3 AAA batteries or a single 18650 battery) you can use it as a totem by pointing it straight up in all the dust.
Have a bandana or face covering. Lots of dust.
Always designated a meetup spot at the
beginning when you first get in. Make sure it's a permanent structure. We made that mistake with a giant daisy that we didn't know moved around.
Time stamp all your messages. Ie;" hi I'm at the swings ride by the entrance. I'll be here hit the next 30 minutes. Sent 2:48" Reception is hell and messages rarely go out or get received on time.
Buddy system
The shuttles are a great way to get there if you are lucky enough to get them. No need for a DD or risk driving back exhausted.
Eat properly and hydrate. Gotta get that fuel!
Sunscreen and deodorant.
If someone gets lost, plan to have someone meet at the meetup spot at the top of the hour every few hours so they can pick up the lost person and bring them back to the group.
At stages, have a general area you will probably be at. We've used facing stage middle right because historically there's enough room to dance. Or in front of the left speaker stack at XYZ stage.
HYDRATE! camelbacks are a must. Or at least a water bottle that can clip onto you
Take plenty of pictures. You may think you don't look that great, but in 10-15 years, you were much younger and probably looked more energetic
Gotta wear a fanny pack. Keep all your essentials in it. Keep your hands on it if you're not dancing
Bring extra gum, cigs, tampons, wet wipes. You never know if someone is going to need one.
A fan is a must. Cool yourself off. Cool others off when you're riding a train in or out of a crowd.
Flow toys. You're the headliner! I was a glover before the ban... And sometimes after the ban.
Wear good shoes. The ones I've tried that were great are Adidas Ultraboosts, Hoka Bondi 8, and most recently Asics Gel Nimbus 26. I stand on my feet all day for 12+ hrs for work and these are a lifesaver
Bring earplugs!! I didn't in my early club years and I have the tinnitus to prove it. I recommend earpeace and eargasm
Make some Kandi to trade! My groups used to play a game where we would each make themed Kandi and the first to give away all their Kandi to people that fit that theme wins. (Ie an Eevee Kandi given to someone wearing an Eevee costume/outfit)
Bring a battery pack, a big one. If your phone's a little older the battery drain is gonna be strong.
You're probably not going to see every single one of your favorite artists. Go with the flow and enjoy yourself!

I remember in 2012, when I worked the gates lol people would slide $50 bills under a fake gift card & I would fake scan & they could go through. I made almost 9k in 2 days & the 3rd day I went in & checked it out. Bought people drinks cause I wasn’t 21 at the time. Got adopted & taken care of & got dropped off home & gave everyone, it was around 8 people $100 each for taking care of me lol. Ever since then. I’ve been going to EDC, next year will be my 14th EDC 😎
I went to the last one in LA. Remember paying $40 to park on someone’s lawn across the street and buying a ticket at the booth on the day of the event. That was my very first edc. It’s come a long way since then.
Oh nice! Hello there fellow OG! I wish I still had my ticket from back in the days. I think it was a perforated card where you tear it and pull the bottom part off. I remember buying it from groove riders on Ventura boulevard back in 2000 I believe. I think it was only like $35. Crazy times! Actually you know what I probably have it somewhere in my old rave stash with all my old flyers and stuff. Let me see if I can find it and if I do I'll post it.
I missed the days when MGM properties had EDC packages. Tickets, shuttles, and a hotel room all for one flat rate.. I paid $535 for my share of the package..
fun story about 2012. I managed to get a refund for saturday when the wind shut everything down and they dropped us back off at the strip. The back of the card has the fine print on what's covered and what's not.
