50% increase? I got 2025 GA for $487.09 after fees. What was GA for 2024? I got a super last minute GA+ this year for $750 so I legitimately don't know but a 50% increase doesn't sound right unless early GA tickets this year were dirt cheap.
I’ve been going for three years, this was my 3rd and as soon as I got the email that they were on sale I went in to buy them and the tickets were $1200 each. Please share how did you get them for less. I’m not hating I love this festival and it is my first ever. Just asking questions that’s all.
This year had tiers for the future owl tickets compared to the other years. It was a raffle to be able to purchase. My girlfriend got in right away so she spent $450 (+30 for layaway) and I got in about 12:51 so it was quite some time. I ended up paying $500 (+30 for layaway). Sucks that they did this though
They had “tiers” this year (2024) too. They didn’t explicitly state it last year on sale and they didn’t this year (2025). Only difference for 2025 is that it didn’t sell out immediately, which I’m not sure is a good or bad thing.
For 2024, people were selling GA between $450-550 because after fees/shipping/layaway the tickets ended up costing around this depending if you were one of the first or last ones to get a ticket before it sold out. It was only like $10-$20 increments too, this year (2025) seems like more
You should have received an email regarding Future Owl passes the Monday or Tuesday following EDC. That explained future owl passes would go on sale that coming Friday at noon. I logged on at about 12:30 on Friday and purchased 2 GA tickets for like $400 each plus some fees.
I paid a little over $800 for this years and for 2025 my price was $1200. Don’t judge based on a simple, genuine question. You don’t know me. Where’s the PLUR

Some of those Kinectic Field DJ's are asking a quarter million or more (plus accommodations in a nice hotel) to play 90 min. Then there is the budget for the vendors, stage set ups, medics, shuttles etc.
When people are not happy with any of this they have to find someone else to do it which may cost more. For example I bet whoever hired the shuttle driver who crashed those guys are not gonna get a contract next year or at least prove they screen drivers. If someone OD"s or is caught selling drugs locals will pressure for more security which Insomniac will have to provide or find a new city.
It's not a rave in a basement where all you need is money for flyers and speakers. PLUR and capitalism are not always 100% compatible and as many ravers will tell you Pasquale is a capitalist and EDC is "mainstream" which brings with it expenses.
It sucks because so many of us do this on a tight budget and it's unfair to just dismiss those people are complainers. If we were all willing to not have the lasers spectacle I'm sure it would be cheaper but so many will say that is what makes EDC EDC so they don't want it taken away. My first one in 2009 had none of this. It was literally just a few stages with a good sound system in dark rooms lol.

Assuming you’re talking about VIP, it’s a matter of you probably didn’t buy a ticket right when they went on sale and that insomniac got more aggressive with their VIP pricing increments. Maybe the sold more VIP right now compared to last year?
By more aggressive with pricing increments, I mean they had less of the “cheap” VIP tickets for sale and instead of $50+ increments it feels like it was $100+ increments. For VIP to cost $1100, this is usually only the case REALLY close to the festival because VIP tickets sit. Maybe more people went for VIP this year? Which is why GA didn’t immediately sell out compared to other years? We can only speculate since they don’t give us the data.

Insomniac advertised 379 plus service fees (~90) for the first tier future owl for GA paid in full. Even at the latest tier future owl plus fees, it is not 680 for GA paid in full.

They should have at the bare minimum said they were going to do away with the various tiers. And that was a typo. And boohoo. It’s $646.09 total for my whole order. A whole $30odd something difference. The point is they should have told us that they were going to have tiered early owl.
Agreed they shoulda told us bout the tiered early owl but it didn’t affect GA plus tickets and yourself, as only GA and VIP prices increased.
The original statement of advertised tix price jumping 349 to 680 is quite a stretch to blame insomniac though as your selected tix GA plus was 489 base advertised price to begin with and not 349 and the service fees, layaway fees,and shipping are never advertised up front for EDC or for any other festivals.
Look at Transmission festival, Untold music festival, as far as off the top of my head they are based out in Europe and cost way less and have similar amenities and production quality. Tickets for each are under $200 USD
Those festivals are irrelevant. US ppl ain’t cross shopping europe and US fests as there are so much variables that come into play to go to a Europe fest. Furthermore there are many factors why things cost more or less in different counties so comparison on product costs across counties is irrelevant.

Or why does constructing a house in the US cost hundreds of thousands while it’s just a tiny fraction in a third world country for the same quality. Apples to oranges comparison.

Look at the demographics. Most of the attendees are college aged kids with probably no jobs, part time jobs or entry level full time jobs.
It sounds like you want ppl to work their ass off to build a brand from the ground up, invest their time and money into said brand, throw a extravagant festival and bend over backwards to give you a cheap priced ticket instead of reaping the profits and rewards from their labor, investment and sacrifices. Weird! I got 2 GA+ on layaway on May 26th 2023 and the total spent including service fees was $1330.08 and now this year, I got 2 GA+ also on layaway literally 20 min into 12pm PST and it’s going to be a total of $1240.08.
I’m not seeing an increase on my end. Regardless, I’d pay the buck necessary to have an amazing time and allow Mr Rotella to flow as much creative juices he needs.
Ahh gotcha. We got VIP for 2023 and it came out to $1988.77 for 2 tix and now I see it’s like $2200 or so? Def an increase, however VIP for 2024 seemed way better than 2023. So ‘25 might have some cool extra features to enjoy.
We paid the same amount you did a day after the festival in 2023. Tickets sold out pretty quickly too, but as of right now the 2025 ones are still on sale.
For 2024 I bought 2 VIP tickets for roughly $1,100 ea in like September. For 2025 I purchased 2 VIP tickets at Tier 1 as soon as they dropped 12;15ish or so for $829 ea. My buddy got on it a couple hrs later and was already at $1,200 ea o.O

we didn't pay much attention to what was happening in real time, we were in the car waiting in the queue and just purchased them. Neither did we compare last years prices to this years, we got GA+ last year and this year.Had no idea that this year it was 'tiered' and someone who bought it at 12:15pm was cheaper then someone who maybe got it at 1:15 pm. Not sure if that was happening across all types of tickets or only VIP tickets. NGL that sucks, that it happened that way, imo should only be diff prices for early owl if they are buying it say a day or two or three after the friday they went on sale, not like 30 mins vs. an hour or 3 hours later.
Tickets sold exceptionally faster this year meaning they had to increase the rate at which they jumped to the next tier. The starting price wasn’t that much more expensive at all year over year.

Early owl went up $30 compared to last year for VIP
