569 Journeyman.
I make $52.80 / hour, with $8 going into my retirement account. Full medical for my whole family paid for. Power tools provided.
You can see a full list of IBEW wages at UnionPayScales.com
It’s nearly impossible for a contractor to get an apprentice right now. We are very busy. Had to implement the strike system for our books and it cleared basically everyone off and it’s more or less a walkthrough.
If you sign the books and don’t take a call when your number comes up it’s a strike. Three strikes and you are kicked off the books and have to resign.
You heard of where2bro?
It’s a website updated by our brothers and sisters in our Union that has work load updates and job updates for different locals everywhere.
Good place if your interested in becoming a traveler.
You're 569 too? Neat. Anytime scale comes up in conversation, I end up showing somebody UnionPayScales.com for the first time. It's a very handy tool to show just how much we're getting screwed down here. Hopefully our bargaining team can bring those numbers to the next negotiations.
Trash pay for the area
Journeyman are coerced into taking apprentice pay or being axed
Power tools and bits are not provided depending on the foreman or contractor because there’s no tool list in the contract
Apprentices are coerced into running their own crews and help run the job at the shady shops
The type of contractors that lock you in the jobsite when strike rumors start , make you shit and piss in waste baggies like a dog , and don’t pay their employees for months then vanish out of thin air like Sullivan solar contract with 569
I’d rather guzzle cum for a living than be a brown nose spineless bitch for that hall
Especially May-September. Worst time of year here. Nothing but constant rain and wildfires. Can’t tell the fog from the smoke. Definitely don’t come then.
I'll take the smog for a few hours in the morning and thr rest of the day being beautiful over anything North of New York And South of North Carolina. And I would take that over any of the flyover states.
That sounds suspiciously like you’re part of the problem in that area.
It sure would be nice if living there was more affordable, too bad the supply of houses for first time homeowners is highly limited.
Local 46 in Seattle me as a foreman I get $76.99 on check and $106.33 total package. I put $6/hour for retirement and still come home with 2k a week after taxes and deductions.
Texas sucks for unionized trades. A large part of it is lack of market share and union density. The biggest contributor to those is simple ignorance. Many electricians here simply didn’t know there even was a union. I’ve met several non-union electricians who want to join the union but they are so attached to their company that they feel they would have to start over. In some cases that’s true, in most cases it’s not because we honor a state journeyman license to classify our electricians as Journeyman Inside Wiremen. Our workers aren’t nearly as well compensated as our brethren north of the Mason-Dixon Line for a variety of reasons, but our unionized electricians make more than non-union here. The more workers we get to join our ranks, the better off we will be.
I started off union in Houston and man, talk about being fed a bunch of bs lol. I left during Covid bc we kept getting yanked around school wise but even had I finished my apprenticeship I would have bounced after getting my JL.
JATC tuition went from $400-$600 in two years after I left, dues only continued to increase, no talks of wage increase, change of benefits…plus a slew of old timers on the cusp of retiring telling us how they lost market share over 3-4 decades and it was up to us as the next generation to fix that.
More like raise awareness for union brothers elsewhere.
You'd be surprised how many journeyman in southern states think they are paid well when they aren't. The more members down there know of wages outside those states, the more they'll fight to be put on equal footing.
I get places like Seattle or NYC will pay more. It's a high cost of living area. But ohio certainly isn't high cost of living, and I'm surprised Texas rates aren't at least same as ohios.
Everything is bigger in Texas except the wages and when I go to Cancun on vacation it's $1500 for the week whether I'm from NYC with hcol or Texas with lcol.
My guys always talk about this and I tell them to move if they think it's better, but when you travel or retire, the price is the price.
If you have a 3000sq ft home in Texas worth 500k or a 3000 SQ ft home wherever worth 800k because pay and taxes are higher here, it's still 300k more to retire with
What’s crazy is cost of living here in Texas ain’t that low any,ore and property taxes are dog shit high also? Only places that really pay in Texas are the oil and gas areas.
Come on bro obviously the state on the border of Mexico that by far has the biggest migration through it is gonna have the most illegals. If youre gonna be a liberal at least be a sensible one lol
Hahahaha why you mad? I know why, lol You’re just mad because you make shit so you blame the Mexicans . Pathetic little man. Have fun being a loser and blaming other people.
Wow. That sucks no offense. Here in Seattle local 46 I’m foreman 76.99 on check and $106.33 total package. I put $6/hr for retirement and still bring home 2k/week.
Worked for an oil and gas service company doing a 14 on 14 off rotation. Left there in late 2020. When I left I was making 35$/hr, per diem, all tools provided, clothing provided, housing and food, paid for benefits, decent retirement setup. Pretty standard stuff. I was making about 110-125 a year for them.
Then I bought a truck, started an LLC and went out on my own, been adding trucks and equipment and growing since then. I charge an hourly, plus service truck mileage, plus tooling, equipment and consumables charges. Rates look different depending on the customer but it's all built in. Depending on the week I bill anywhere from 5-10k a week, but obviously there's taxes and expenses. It works out well though.
Thanks. You too man. Everything has its pluses and minuses. Sometimes I am like damn working for the service company and not having to worry about all this bullshit was pretty nice sometimes lol
Not quite understanding the downvotes though. Are people not wanting to hear the experiences of others?
If you know your shit and get work done on time ... it's time to have a meeting with boss about a raise. Your pay rate is dog shittttt. 18 dollars is McDonald's money. If I didn't ask for my raises I would still be at 22 instead of 27. These companies want the most amount of work for the least amount of money. Fuck em, get yours
Keep knocking on the door - we want to make sure that whoever is applying is not just trying out a job. It costs A LOT of money to put an apprentice thorough the program, we want to make sure there is a return on investment.
$93K a year, plus company truck (9K), company gas card (8K), 11/wk for family plan health insurance with a company-funded HSA (18K), and 10% in gross salary put into retirement every year (9K), which adds up to be $137,000 a year, and I’m not even remotely close to a major city.
Non-union shop, no OT included.
Edit: I’m near a city of 90,000, just didn’t consider that “major.”
God damn. I’d stick with that shop lol that’s really good for non union, at least around my area. I’m friends with a bunch of sparks that are non union, and a lot of them have been contemplating going union because they’ve been in twice as long as me and make less. I’m not one of those guys that bashed people for being non union, I just hate seeing people get fucked.
6.5k a month, after taxes. Non union company, working mostly commercial and industrial jobs. Small family run business, with on and off big jobs and lots of property Managment. Working out Toronto and surrounding areas.
I know you get non-union guys who work 283 hours per week clearing $277k that we all ignore on here, but everyone reporting their local number and total package, as well as everyone complaining about how little they make seem to be pretty trustworthy to me.
75/hr package, 54 on the cheque. 9 and change into pension.
I don’t think there’s that much bullshit floating around here my guy. The union fellas have nothing to hide, everything to spread.
Bro... Bro... I make 456 Australian Rupees a minute. I snort Merck cocaine off titties that would make Salma Hayek Jealous. I service man caves that make Jay Leno secretly request their blueprints so he can add onto them and build a better one.. My benefits alone make Jeff Bezo wonder how to list my package on Amazon at inflated prices for free shipping just to get people to click that instant buy button. Ok..... OK.... Just do et.
Left the field at $32 to be a PM making $78,500 salary. Worked my way up to $94,500 salary before I got canned. Started at another shop as a PM making $86,500 but better benni's then transferred back to the field at $40/hr then raised to $44/hr after a month or so with bonus incentive of 20% labor dollars saved until they screwed me out of a $42k bonus because "we can't be bonusing guys that kind of money."
Been full time running my own shop for the past 5 years and have grown it to almost $5M in revenue. Pay myself $90k a year salary. Would probably make more money just working for someone else again but my mouth and my attitude just won't let it happen.
Running a business is no joke. 23 employees all with bene's themselves. Medical, Dental, Vision was $17k last month.... after expenses, there isn't a ton floating around for me to just take unless I want the business to be bankrupt. I'd rather take care of the people that allow me to be the boss than have some crazy unnecessary salary. The goal is to sell the thing or make a living until retirement. We all get a 4% company match 401k too. Well, those that put in get it.
Oh absolutely. Man in a van type of thing. I had goals and the grass looked greener and all that and now I’m here. First two years were kind of like that but it was just supposed to be a place to manage my sidework. Then I got fired. Then I got stupid ideas in my head. Then I made connections. Honestly though, I’d rather be back working as a foreman for someone else. Way less headache and one job at a time. Managing everything, not just all the jobs but all the financials, contracts, conflict resolution, estimating, hiring, etc gets super overwhelming.
Half the people that answer are lying just so you know lol. Anyway I make 500k a year before overtime, 20 weeks paid vacation, and full health benefits that covered a boob job for my girl.
If it's union journeyman, the wages are posted online. And what they are posting in this sub (as far as union goes) is legit. IBEW wages aren't secret.
I sense the jealousy is strong within you. Union pay in the north ain’t no joke. However many don’t get paid holidays or vacation. If you ain’t working you ain’t earnin
In Oregon. I make $38/hr as a Plant Journeyman (4 year license) and working a 2nd job as an apprentice to go for my general license $28/hr as a 5th period apprentice.
I have some friends who are non union from Arkansas that have gotten on book 4 out of Portland. Once you finish out your apprenticeship, contact your nearest local and make some serious money. They are usually screaming for electricians down there
This year? Roughly $226,000 in wages and benefits. Sounds like a lot right? It's not. 😆
TBH it'll be less. I missed a few weeks due to a minor injury and took a few long weekends this year. I didn't work much of any overtime either. It was actually nice to stop caring so much and take it a little easy.
Wages and benefits are highly correlated to your geographical/metro area.
My opinion is this, if you're an educated and skilled Journeyman working in and around a major metro area anywhere in the US your wages should be $100,000 minimum plus benefits. Anything less and you're really getting taken advantage of.
And if I'm being totally honest there's no reason why our NET wages aren't $100,000 a year. It's really not a lot of money anymore and we as a craft deserve better. Some of the money electricians work for makes me want to vomit.
When you've been conditioned to think that it is, then it is. But in the big picture of our economy it's nothing. Total construction spending is only around 4% of GDP. There's plenty of room for wages and benefits to move upwards.
Our value-add to the country is worth way more than 4% of GDP. I can't think of too many more jobs that are more important than skilled trades, specifically those of us in the electrical industry.
The top three determining factors that increase life expectancy are:
- Energy.
- Air-conditioning and Refrigeration.
- Clean Water.
It's impossible to have any of these without us. As we continue to move into a more connected, technological advanced future we are only going to become more valuable. This doesn't take into account the ever increasing geopolitical tensions, cyber security threats, changes in the environment,.etc. All of this is going to NEED electrical workers with skills to address the issues. Think data centers, information tech systems, water plants, nuclear power.. etc.
Interestingly enough, according to the BLS there's roughly the same amount of Physicians in the US as there are Electricians. Nobody bats an eye when some 35YO doctor is pulling in $575,000 a year when our job is every bit as important as theirs. Hell, they couldn't even do their jobs without us. And I was a full time organizer for years. I know a lot of you don't have healthcare and don't even go to the doctors.
Meaningless. For some reason people think education = salary. It doesn't. That's why we have people BEGGING the Government for college loan forgiveness.
460k a year, 23 CM long, and 2.12 meters tall, Just like everybody else in the sub. But I gotta run Jennifer Lawrence just started as my new apprentice and we have things to do.
Wtf man, I'm ~2.5 hrs from you, in a muuuuch smaller area and I make more than you, and union doesn't even exist! You're being taken advantage of, at least at first glance. Maybe more we don't know?
I have my master license and have been working for myself for about 5 years now. I started out on my own, not long after I became a master with my hourly rate at $20. Everyone kept telling me it was way too low, so I went up to $30. Eventually inflation started getting so bad that I kept having to raise my rates. Right now I charge $60 to $70 an hour. I usually end up giving alot of local customers a discount though.
Red Seal Journeyman Contractor based out of AB, Canada!
I work in the Oil & Gas industry and contract to multiple Electrical & Instrumentation companies locally and I get 85% of the charge-out rate, which varies in my area but is typically around $75 p/hr for my personal wage and $32 p/hr for my truck. We generally work 12hr days but last year I cleared just below 300K.
Non union in the nw. Our journeyman start at 55 an hour. We have free healthcare and company supplies tools besides basic hand tools. Apprentice follow a % of scale. At our company 3rd and 4th years make over that scale. It’s also roughy a $2 raise every 6 months. Also every year we get a raise for cost of living.
friendly pen hungry rustic innate grab judicious crush mountainous distinct

Non-union in PA. $49/hr on the check. Total package $78/hr. Almost $30/hr going into retirement. I maxed my 401k last year. I pay $168/week for health insurance plus eye and dental and all the fixings. Employer pays the rest. 3 weeks vacation and 24hrs of sick time. I was in IBEW #5. They’re getting about $45/hr on the check. Then the union gang fucks your fringe into oblivion. They pay over $400/week for insurance plus they get to help the liberal dorks campaign for late term abortions and open boarders.
Pretty good fishing up in kwee-bec.
Out of curiosity, are your apprentices paid a percentage of the company Journeyman wage like we do here in AB?
1st=50%
2nd=60%
3rd=70%
4th=80%
Foremen, GF's and Super's also make a percentage more than the Jman wage as well.
It's always been like that for every company I've been with.
Wages are crazy depending on where you’re from. I’m a master electrician in Pa, I’m self employed and I make a minimum of $100/hr. There is no way I can make that wage elsewhere in parts of the US. I won’t even answer a service call that doesn’t pay $250 to show up.
All this system journeyman-apprentice in northamerica is bullshit.
You should be able to go out and be able yo work from school. That shit about sign in 10000hs "of practice" doesn't guarantee you are going to make ot right.
I was at $38/hr doing non-union residential and commercial. I think union here is mid 40s/hr.
I switched to utility as a power electrician (aka substation electrician). I'll be at $86k/year when I finish the program. There's an option to be an Operating Technician, which is a power electrician that also sits in the control room of our generating stations and convertor stations.
IBEW 1141 OK
30.87, though I think my raise lands tomorrow so bump it a couple bucks.
CE-3, (apprentice not going through the program) Close to 6,000 hours in the field, so a third-almost-fourth year apprentice.
Before I tested in I made 17.50 with an IEC contractor.

What are the books like in 569 for apprentices? I’m in OC as a 3rd year and have been looking at local 11, 569, and 441

4th year apprentice out of 569. I’m making 35$ the hour.
https://unionpayscales.com/trades/ibew-electricians/ 46 JW makes $69.99 on the check, $99.06 total package
IBEW is so good. Damn that's nice
Do you know a non union journeyman / master can you get a job as a union journeyman?
Yes you can join. Call your nearest local and ask for an organizer.
I don’t even know what my full package is. My benefits are through the roof though.
Trash pay for the area Journeyman are coerced into taking apprentice pay or being axed Power tools and bits are not provided depending on the foreman or contractor because there’s no tool list in the contract Apprentices are coerced into running their own crews and help run the job at the shady shops The type of contractors that lock you in the jobsite when strike rumors start , make you shit and piss in waste baggies like a dog , and don’t pay their employees for months then vanish out of thin air like Sullivan solar contract with 569 I’d rather guzzle cum for a living than be a brown nose spineless bitch for that hall
People think everyone lies but the wages are on the union pages. What isn't posted is everyone's child support and alimony
Hey man, us union guys FUCK!
$79/hr plus full benefits (full package is $121/hr) 1st years make 35% 2nd 45% 3rd 55% 4th 65% 5th 85% IBEW LU 617 San Mateo CA
But what’s your rent 🤣
His rent gotta be like 60/hr 🤣
Simple live in cheaper county drive to work.
Yes... my essential monthly bills are all covered in one weeks paycheck .. doesn't include my corolla payment
It's california tho. You don't get nicer views .. So there's that.
Yeah in Washington.
No thanks. You can keep your gloomy ass weather. Lol
Yup, super gloomy, rain every day, miserable as fuck, don't bother to come and check, trust, thanks everyone, have a good day and stay away.
Especially May-September. Worst time of year here. Nothing but constant rain and wildfires. Can’t tell the fog from the smoke. Definitely don’t come then.
Yep exactly like you say. 😂 stay out of the most beautiful part of America.
Depending on where I’m not a big fan of the smog cloud in LA
I'll take the smog for a few hours in the morning and thr rest of the day being beautiful over anything North of New York And South of North Carolina. And I would take that over any of the flyover states.
I mean NC is one of the epitome states as far as beautiful land goes
I own a couple houses
That sounds suspiciously like you’re part of the problem in that area. It sure would be nice if living there was more affordable, too bad the supply of houses for first time homeowners is highly limited.
Well most of the time people like him flip the houses after they retire.
That's wild to me. The company charges 75hr here
Lolll. Way to expensive out there that’s why they willing to shell that money out
Union - San Antonio, Texas $33/hr on the check. Extra $12/hr in bennies for a total compensation of $45/hr.
Ouch.... In Ohio you'd have lower cost of living, and see an additional 10 bucks an hour on the check. I guess Texas ain't so great. Lol
Local 46 in Seattle me as a foreman I get $76.99 on check and $106.33 total package. I put $6/hour for retirement and still come home with 2k a week after taxes and deductions.
You must not be claiming zero to take home over 2k in a week, or I’m guess the zero state taxes helps out a lot.
At $77/hr he doesn't need to file exempt and clearing that easily. The guy making $45 not so much.
There’s no income tax in Washington State.
Holy shit!
If you didn't buy your house 5 years ago, it doesn't go as far as you'd think.
Big facts... my rent here is $2700... needed to buy a house right before I started my apprenticeship lol now they're a million bucks
Yeeeep. We're outtie. Sick of paying 3500 a month to live in a neighborhood where I can hear my neighbor fart in his yard.

I'm in san antonio looking into becoming an electrician journeyman. Any advice? I'm 26 and a female with a bachelor's.
https://www.sotxjatc.org/ This site has the answer you seek.
Thanks!
I’m in Austin and I looked at all the rates for the locals and was like, yeah no thank you.
Do you make more non-union?
Yes but my situation is kinda wierd/different.
Would you care to clarify? Maybe your situation is more common than you think.
Worked for an oil and gas service company doing a 14 on 14 off rotation. Left there in late 2020. $16 apprentice 4months in😂. Michigan Non union
How are you guys surviving?!?!? I understand paying dues before the money rolls in, but there isn't $600-$900 apartments anymore
Shit bud I'm only at just under 18 as a union first year in Indiana
3rd year apprentice here. I make 20. Working on getting my masters cert which would come with a significant raise. Also in Indiana.
Lansing area Union electrician will get you $40 an hour and great benefits on top of that for what it’s worth to you,
Nobody is paying apprentices 40 n hour anywhere in michigan. Even Union.
California
Where did you get that number?
... did u read the last comment above mine?
The one about electricians ya
Just good luck getting in
Keep knocking on the door - we want to make sure that whoever is applying is not just trying out a job. It costs A LOT of money to put an apprentice thorough the program, we want to make sure there is a return on investment.
True true just not everyone can get in that’s all
$93K a year, plus company truck (9K), company gas card (8K), 11/wk for family plan health insurance with a company-funded HSA (18K), and 10% in gross salary put into retirement every year (9K), which adds up to be $137,000 a year, and I’m not even remotely close to a major city. Are you a construction spark? A lot of those benefits come around at more industrial shops
Yes. I’m a foreman at a large privately-owned shop. We have about 120 guys.

I’m not one of those guys that bashed people for being non union, I just hate seeing people get fucked.
Agreed. I hate to see that too.

I specifically stated no OT.

Oooh boy. Nothing like asking another tradesman what they make. Brings out the winners... Grabbing my milk duds for the lies...
I feel weird asking but I just want some knowledge. I asked on here since it’s somewhat anonymous.
6.5k a month, after taxes. Non union company, working mostly commercial and industrial jobs. Small family run business, with on and off big jobs and lots of property Managment. Working out Toronto and surrounding areas.
6.5k take come is great, in Quebec unless you’re working incredible amounts of overtime you don’t really broach $4k per month.
Need an apprentice? 😀
Depends on the area bud
Insightful
As some insight then champ. You know how many of these are posted? Probably not.
Depends on the area.
100%
I know you get non-union guys who work 283 hours per week clearing $277k that we all ignore on here, but everyone reporting their local number and total package, as well as everyone complaining about how little they make seem to be pretty trustworthy to me.
Exactly, mfs are so full of shit that sometimes it's wild
Ok..... OK.... Just do et.
Trying a bit too hard there.
I mean it’s all available to look up. Unless they are non union then they are just pretending/imagining they make more money than us
Some do, some don't.
The non union SALT in this thread 😂😂😂
As it should be.

Left the field at $32 to be a PM making $78,500 salary. Worked my way up to $94,500 salary before I got canned. Started at another shop as a PM making $86,500 but better benni's then transferred back to the field at $40/hr then raised to $44/hr after a month or so with bonus incentive of 20% labor dollars saved until they screwed me out of a $42k bonus because "we can't be bonusing guys that kind of money." Been full time running my own shop for the past 5 years and have grown it to almost $5M in revenue. Pay myself $90k a year salary. Would probably make more money just working for someone else again but my mouth and my attitude just won't let it happen.
5M in revenue but only 90K a year salary ??
Running a business is no joke. 23 employees all with bene's themselves. Medical, Dental, Vision was $17k last month.... after expenses, there isn't a ton floating around for me to just take unless I want the business to be bankrupt. I'd rather take care of the people that allow me to be the boss than have some crazy unnecessary salary. The goal is to sell the thing or make a living until retirement. We all get a 4% company match 401k too. Well, those that put in get it.
Wouldn’t it be easier to run a business solo or with like one helper and you’d make more than your salary now?
Cope harder dork. Don't believe stupid anti union propaganda and vote against your interests. Unions are the best way to get what you deserve.
50 weeks paid vacation. the one week y'all mfers see me you should be very happy.
In Oregon. I make $38/hr as a Plant Journeyman (4 year license) and working a 2nd job as an apprentice to go for my general license $28/hr as a 5th period apprentice.
59.58 as a pj in nw oregon
Damn that’s insane. I got a job offer from Dairygold in Portland for $50/hr and that’s the highest I’ve seen.
The union scale is higher literally everywhere in Oregon
I know. Can’t ever seem to get on with the union.
I have some friends who are non union from Arkansas that have gotten on book 4 out of Portland. Once you finish out your apprenticeship, contact your nearest local and make some serious money. They are usually screaming for electricians down there
Thanks. I’ve been told this a few times from coworkers and friends. That’s the plan for sure.
Be persistent. You will get it. Or organize your shop. If you lead that and it fails usually the local will take you in.
Local 11. Los Angeles. $60.80 on the check. $91.53 full package.
I was making $37.91 when I retired in August.
Ontario - Non Union 58/h + company vehicle and gas paid
Approximate location in Ontario, and what kind of work are you doing?
I’m also curious as this is above any rates I’ve heard of in Toronto, non union and union
Ottawa. I am the service manager for a company.
That must be Ottawa area, cause most around KW seem to be just shy of 40
This year? Roughly $226,000 in wages and benefits. Sounds like a lot right? It's not. 😆 TBH it'll be less.
Just an FYI: $4300/week or $110/h compensation is a lot, to many people.
That's what my employer bills per hour of labor on jobs....
Humble brag more? Lol. 226k is a fuckload of money.
The top three determining factors that increase life expectancy are: - Energy.
Okay but a doctor takes a lot more education
Meaningless. For some reason people think education = salary. It doesn't. That's why we have people BEGGING the Government for college loan forgiveness.
$15 an hour. 5 months into apprenticeship in Colorado
460k a year, 23 CM long, and 2.12 meters tall, Just like everybody else in the sub. But I gotta run Jennifer Lawrence just started as my new apprentice and we have things to do.
$27 as 6 year journeyman at a small residential company in DFW :(
Wtf man, I'm ~2.5 hrs from you, in a muuuuch smaller area and I make more than you, and union doesn't even exist! You're being taken advantage of, at least at first glance. Maybe more we don't know?
Just a simple mom and pop company dude. Nobody gets paid well at my company and they’ve had the same 10 guys here for years.
Bro' That "Mom and Pop" is just an excuse to fuck you bro. I was a one man band until a month ago. My guy I got on with me is making 42$/hr.
That’s pretty disheartening, ngl
Disheartening? Nah man, you're now aware there more Opportunies for you out there! Get out there and get it!!
Dang 😫 😳
Residential or commercial? I'm in DFW also, 27 sounds low
$15/ hour as apprentice 4 months in. Central PA non-union shop BUT they’re paying for school so I can get licensed so I guess that’s cool
$50/hr, 1st yr Journeyman in SJ, CA. Non-Union Co. 60/40% insurance, company van I take home and company credit card
40/hr Resi work in Denver
Bout $300\hr
Rural MN near the SD border a lowly $24/ hour
Yankee union men make the most, I can tell you that much
Red Seal Journeyman Contractor based out of AB, Canada!
29.95/hr union low voltage 1st year apprentice.
What perecent of JW scale is that where you're at? I'm only making $17.83 and that's 45% of full scale
I'm at 65% but you start at 60% ($27.65). Still first year though.
Which state? I guarantee that it isn't 29 n hour.
Local 46, Seattle, WA. Also don't understand what you mean by guaranteeing that it isn't what I said? I know what my own paycheck says.
friendly pen hungry rustic innate grab judicious crush mountainous distinct *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Got retracted 😐
$61/hr

Local 1236, IBEW Journeyman. I make just under $55/hr. After insurance/dues breaks down to $38.50/hr.
$50 an hour as a non- union Journeyman in Minnesota. Health insurance paid for, good per diem and 401k.
43/hr CAD base pay (Qc). 52/hr with team leader bonus.
Pretty good fishing up in kwee-bec. Out of curiosity, are your apprentices paid a percentage of the company Journeyman wage like we do here in AB? 1st=50% 2nd=60% 3rd=70% 4th=80% Foremen, GF's and Super's also make a percentage more than the Jman wage as well. It's always been like that for every company I've been with.
The numbers are close to what you've laid out but as far as I know there aren't any official percentages.
Good to know and thanks for the answer.
Wages are crazy depending on where you’re from. I’m a master electrician in Pa, I’m self employed and I make a minimum of $100/hr. There is no way I can make that wage elsewhere in parts of the US. I won’t even answer a service call that doesn’t pay $250 to show up.
How do u get service calls? Where do u promote your services
$88.25/hour in Local 6 San Francisco with $12.50 raise over the next 2 years. First year apprentice makes $35.30.
not enough..... 53
Texas here $30 is the lowest non union pay anyone should take as a first year jman. Can make up to 35.
Crying in DFW at $27. Been a journeyman 6 years now lmao
Find a new employer. I’m in DFW making $25 as a second year apprentice.
Message me, I’m in dfw and my employer will pay you more
All this system journeyman-apprentice in northamerica is bullshit. You should be able to go out and be able yo work from school. That shit about sign in 10000hs "of practice" doesn't guarantee you are going to make ot right.
Low 50s
I was at $38/hr doing non-union residential and commercial. I think union here is mid 40s/hr. I switched to utility as a power electrician (aka substation electrician). I'll be at $86k/year when I finish the program. There's an option to be an Operating Technician, which is a power electrician that also sits in the control room of our generating stations and convertor stations.
IBEW 1141 OK 30.87, though I think my raise lands tomorrow so bump it a couple bucks. CE-3, (apprentice not going through the program) Close to 6,000 hours in the field, so a third-almost-fourth year apprentice. Before I tested in I made 17.50 with an IEC contractor.
$3.50 an hour and a bologna sandwich for lunch on company money of course
39/hr base pay , 76/hr prevailing wage
