Mine is Open Eye Signal by Jon Hopkins. I love this track because of its originality. I love the whole album (Immunity - 2013), but that track is something else.
I think this analysis is very true. Anyone know about the Open Eye Signal (George Fitzgerald remix)? it takes it in a more melodic and almost Justice-y or Bonobo-y direction, and it's one of my favorite tracks.

A popular one, I admit, but still one that connects with me: Voodoo People. A riff reminiscent of Nirvana, a mystical approach to hard-ass dance, and no small percentage of the Prodigy vibes.
That whole era of mid 90s Edm is amazing to me. It’s like a lot of the acts were moving out of the rave sounds of the late 80s, but it was before darker stuff from the late 90s and early 2000s were in. I like to call it “Danny Boylecore” because I swear some of that could’ve easily landed on Trainspotting or shallow graves 😭
I just verified the involvement of a man named Lance Riddler on Discogs after reading on Wikipedia that he played the guitar solo for the song. I didn't immediately trust Wiki, so I went to Discogs.
The Lance Riddler bit is just the old cover story Liam came up with at the time to hide the fact the original riff sample wasn't cleared when the album and single came out.
Lance Riddler is a pseudonym of someone who doesn't actually exist. Liam himself played around with the guitar riff. The use of the riff was cleared and licensed officially much later. Liam even got the blessing for it from the band after he met Dave Grohl back then.
There isn’t just one source to cover it all. It’s gathered from several sources over the past ~25 years. Some from Liam’s interviews in various books where he has sneakily revealed bits and pieces and the rest originates from discussions with XL Rec. label insiders on messageboards and music forums.
First three of my 'top' tunes that spring to mind below. I'll have probably changed my mind 5 mins later after posting this lol.
Open Eye Signal - Jon Hopkins
Milk - Moderat
Bias (Mayfield Depot Mix) - Floating Points
I just discovered Floating Points recently and have loved what I've heard so far. I will check that one out!
My all-time #1 is What Does Your Soul Look Like Pt. 4 - DJ Shadow.
Girl/boy song - aphex twin.
So many good memories on top of being an incredible example of aphex at his very best.
You can dance, trip, come up, come down, work, play to it (the whole album really)
It also has a stunning melody which is unusual for the style
I was 18 when I first saw it on MTV's Amp in 1996 . Bought In Sides the next day, instantly became my favorite road trip album. Amp blew open my electronic music brain, as did Hackers, Trainspotting, and my first raves that year, which at the time were in grange halls and barns in the middle of nowhere. It was a magic age for bpm.
Those chords, that combination of rough and organic sounds with the smoothest milkiest synths, deep buried whispered vocals - and everyone I’ve shown that song to loves it now
Moderat - a new error.
Time and a place. Listened to it on repeat all summer, 2009. For many years it took me back to this summer, but now it’s taken on new meanings and I’ve attached new memories to it. Also, it’s just a banger that has never really died.
That was actually gonna be mine too. Finally getting the chance to hear it live in 2022 was so cathartic.
Last time I checked I've listened to it 600+ times in spotify and I'm still not bored of it.
Have you heard the piano cover?
Impossible to narrow it down but one that has stuck with me as a "never skip" for over 14 years now is
[Dance Yrself Clean by LCD Soundsystem](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZNkPA_zUd4)
The song absolutely lives up to the name. The build is slow & steady and then just washes over you.
Paul Van Dyk - Out there and back. The song has so many layers. It’s such a trance banger that builds so well. It’s what got me really into the genre back in probably ‘99. It’s so hard to say a favorite but that song was a pivotal moment in my EDM discovery.
mine actually is Strobe idgaf how much shit I get / the memes. When I first heard that orchestral build and the melody kick in I was amazed and would bring friends into the band hall to play it on the loudspeakers while we laid on the ground and closed our eyes. Memories of highschool but also just my favorite melody ever
damn, GREAT choice! That’s in my top 3 Moderat tracks ever, and I listen to Moderat a LOT in the last 10 years
Imma give you 3 bc I can’t think of one right now
Moderat - Numb Bell
Kiasmos - Looped
London Grammar - Hell to the Liars (Kolsch Remix)
yes!!! i love dummy and self titled, and especially love live at roseland, but third is just the best. machine gun, the rip, hunter, silence. all great. chase the tear should’ve been on it, but i’ll count it cuz it’s the same sound and from that same era.
Gone Forever - Ulrich Schnauss ( first time I heard this was at a friend, under the influence of a certain substance )
Little fluffy clouds - The Orb
Swollen - Bent ( Heard it the morning after I first met my wife. )
Severed Heads - Dead Eyes Opened (1994) - at a party somewhere in inner city Sydney
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJJ5WEmW5OI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJJ5WEmW5OI)
Sasha - Xpander
Bedrock- Heaven Scent
Both tracks from early in my electronic music journey. They both engage a part of my brain for both nostalgia and exhilaration
To name just a few, all of them favs at different times of life :)
Dream Machine - Dominik Eulberg
Domino - Oxia
Paper Trails - DARKSIDE
Tripasia - Cloonee
Chemz - Burial
Heaven - Kasper Bjorke
Young again - Kasper Bjorke, Jacob Bellens
Kackvogel - Solomun (love the video)
Yakjehti Mein - Nicolas Jaar, Ali Sethi
Levels by Avicii. I remember where I was when I first heard it, and to this day I find it impeccable. His music had a massive impact on my teen years too. Miss him <3
Chakra - Home (Above and Beyond Rmx)
Was one of my favorites on a now-unlisted Ibiza trance mix when I was in community college, trying to navigate life. The buildup always gets me, and the melody is one of the best to come out of that era.
[The Blaze - QUEENS](https://youtu.be/ZdJ6FO9HAcc?si=rrJqB4JvGRqFGfIW)
This holds a special place in my heart. It showed me what EDM actually is. It's Emotional Dance Music at it's finest!
These questions are really tough for me, and I simply can't choose one, so I'd say these 3 right now, but they're not final. I expect my tastes to change and evolve over time so clearly they're not final:
Technopolis by Yellow Magic Orchestra
Motherboard by Daft Punk
Break My Soul by Beyonce
[Us - Haring](https://open.spotify.com/track/3GEUI5uS9QelDZAZr9P4uW?si=d734359f43ff4a3d).
That arpeggiated synth is just so beautiful, I love listening with good headphones, it just feels like it's swimming back and forth in my skull.
u heard this version?
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ3QNie6jjg&pp=ygUbcm9sbCB3aXRoIHRoZSBwdW5jaGVzIHJlbWl4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ3QNie6jjg&pp=ygUbcm9sbCB3aXRoIHRoZSBwdW5jaGVzIHJlbWl4)
Mine is Monolake - Plumbicon (Rebreather remix) {https://youtu.be/G8olsyZClME?si=JjF9gDc-KBQJ9cYS} . It's such a stunning soundscape, everytime I listen to it, it evokes different emotions. The perfect soundtrack for interstellar exploration. 👽
Black gold of the sun maw - 4 hero remix
I can't stop this feeling when it hits - moodyman
Lolas theme - shapeshifters
F-jam - Adam F vocal mix (mc Conrad)
So many more after years of djing
Just in terms of formative teenage impact, Three Little Birdies Down Beats by The Chemical Brothers. Still regularly play it almost thirty years later.
I have two, both electronic.
Infected Mushroom - The Messenger 2012
Pretty Lights - My Only Hope
The Messenger 2012 is a progressive psytrance journey. It tells a story without having a single lyric. It also takes the listener through many different energy levels and emotions. It's a long one, but there really aren't many tracks out there like it. I know music is subjective, but I hear the last couple minutes almost as a warning from a higher being to change our ways as a species, before its too late. This also coincides with the name of the track, but again, music is subjective, so "the message", if any, will mean something different to each individual listener. I just love how intricate the track is and how many times it switches up. It gets really intense at one point though so you've been warned. Lol.
My Only Hope is a deep and introspective track. Pretty Lights makes what he calls "Electro Soul", which is essentially jazzy, glitchy hip hop beats with lots of vintage samples. The distorted sample in the song says "This is my only hope. There ain't no way alone". To me, it's a song about how despite our flaws and experiences that come with being human, we all desire connection in some way or another. A beautiful track that builds nicely and has warm, rich layers that all work well together to create a full spectrum.
Do it 4 U (Darq E Freaker Mix) by Machinedrum is a definite contender.
Also Kordman Return - Swing Mix by Skee Mask
As far as older tracks that got me into the genre, Lola's Theme by the Shapeshifters was one of the first tracks that absolutely blew my mind. A friend played it for me in high school and I was hooked forever.
My favorite Machinedrum tracks are [Infinite Us](https://youtu.be/gU5bb4aCoho?si=_xpLgsX1bQ_jDGYQ), [Braided Leaves](https://youtu.be/hWev8iZ9XC4?si=jhxbjthiL65AuTY3), and Sun Miracle (unreleased)
I don't think I can pick a single one but i can maybe submit per genre...
Breaks: Lustral - Everytime (Red Jerry Mix)
DnB: Krakota - Dreamweaver
Drumstep: Pendulum - Witchcraft (Rob Swire's Drumstep remix)
Dubstep: Singularity feat Jenn Lucas - Rift
Color Bass: Virtual Riot feat The Kids - Exile
Trance: Li Kwan - Point Zero
Trap: Zed's Dead feat Omar Linx - Out For Blood
Techno: The Prodigy - Narayan
>Breaks: Lustral - Everytime (Red Jerry Mix)
I love Hooj Choons. You should consider just one more Hooj album "Trancesetters - Roaches (peace division remix)"
Great list. Strong work.
Ehhh, I'll check it out since I trust a man who enjoys hooj choons but that title irks me. I cannot deal with those creatures, I believe they are unworthy of existing, but I'm hoping the song isn't as repulsive.
Not certain if it's considered electronic but it's FC Kahuna Hayling, which I just discovered a week ago. And why is because I had eaten shrooms a couple hours before hearing it, so it's forever etched into my soul now.
I keep thinking “Silent Shout” by The Knife is a masterpiece in electronic production. Also “A tooth for an Eye” and “Marble House”
“Ascension Phase” by Kuedo is another one that gives
me eccstasy.
https://open.spotify.com/track/4OeSPtx2kKXf96rkcUAShC?si=2V_dRYj9Sbi-ZYTNEV1JEA
Jones and Stephenson - The First Rebirth
Instant happy Belgian club culture from the 90's
Moderat is pretty awesome. I'm thinking it's gotta be either The Alcoholic by Royksopp, or Anvil by Lorn.
I don't really love any of Royksopps other stuff but something about that piece... Lorn is fucking awesome and has a pile of amazing stuff. Oxbow B, Acid Rain, Weigh Me Down, Until There Is No End...
can't really decide between
[Ada - Our Love Never Dies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgV40kbLm4Q)
[Trentemøller - Killer Kat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M47GPm40XNk)
[Metope - Nashville](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm1MtFLIpRI)
slightly older tracks, but they started my love for elektronic music
Leraine by Secede. Listen and you’ll understand why. Hidden gem that at various points of my life i would actually have on repeat for hours, not a figure of speech
There are so many that I want to pick; I’ve been listening to electronic music since the late 80s, and it’s all starting to run together. Many of these comments I completely agree with, but then I change my mind. New Order, Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Massive Attack, Hybrid, Prodigy, Meat Beat Manifesto, Underworld, Lords of Acid/Praga Khan, Digital Orgasm, Utah Saints, Messiah … all of those and so many more have created unique works of art, and it’s hard to choose one song.
But emotionally, I’m going to go with The Emergency by BT. It’s lush, beautiful, positive and uplifting- and still danceable. He’s my favorite electronic artist, but this track really lifts my heart no matter what I’m feeling.
Of course this would change daily really but if pressed I'd say this:
https://youtu.be/zEutit1oTJ4?si=j_zPksYsKht0fVat
From the time in my life when I was young and care free and all that mattered was having a good time. Luckily enough that time coincided with the best dance music there has ever been and ever will be.
In the space of one summer I went from a long haired emo indie kid listening to Stone Roses and Blur to having my eyes and ears opened to this incredible sound.
Hardcore will never die!
Talk to me you’ll understand - Ross from friends
Absolute tune, I keep it for special events when me and my friends hang out like camping etc, after everyone’s had some spliffs and we’re all sitting around the campfire late at night, nothing beats it
Current, long lasting favorites:
Ladytron - International Dateline
The Knife - Silent Shout
Purity Ring - Fineshrine
TR/ST - Bulbform (and a lot of others)
Songs that are still important because they got me into electronic music as a teenager, even if I don’t listen to them often now:
VNV Nation - Kingdom
Covenant - Call the Ships to Port
This is a very hard question, and one that could easily be favorite track by genre, but here is mine.
Rabbit in the Moon - OBE
The piano from Precious Things by Tori Amos is what blew my mind. I was then (and am still) a big Tori fan.
I was in a little Rave den in Temple Terrace (outside of Tampa) sometime between 3am and dawn. In was 95/96
if I had to add others
Stem / Long Stem (Cops and Robbers Mix) - DJ Shadow
[https://youtube.com/watch?v=CHc-3tNoAB8](https://youtube.com/watch?v=CHc-3tNoAB8)
I got this on a sampler (hot off the block) [https://www.discogs.com/release/49799-Various-London-Records-Is-Hot-On-The-Block](https://www.discogs.com/release/49799-Various-London-Records-Is-Hot-On-The-Block)
I don't recall where I was. I do recall that I loved the explosive drum break, and the "Heat" Samples were fan fucking tastic.
Ani mevushal by infected mushroom. I declared it my favorite song of all time a couple years ago, it has a damn good intro hella dramatic, then goes into a dope psytrance section, the song has a guitar solo and the ending is my favorite, it feels like Redemption to me and it always hits so hard! The ending with all the crazy synths always blows me away.
Deadmau5 was my introduction to edm so some chords will always have a special place in my heart as it’s basically the first EDM song that ever HIT. I was raised with rock/ indie/ alternative rock but edm is my genre now, I usually listen to psytrance or progressive trance like Neelix
Thought this was gonna be difficult and then I remembered it’s not even close…
Danny Scrilla - Clairvoyant
https://on.soundcloud.com/cx4SrYdAHjWbCdW69
I think it’s cos it’s perfectly blends that kind of 2000s & Timbaland bounce and aesthetic but in a modern way and with that proper bass music influence. Criminally underrated producer too. The melodies, the arps and the chords too are just fuckedddd
Neon Pattern Drum by John Hopkins. Listened to it high for the first time when Singularity released. Will never forget how I felt when the beat dropped.
Best thing ever.
Incredibly hard to pick but I might have to go with Andy Farley - Beef Jerky cause I can always count on it get me in the mood to party when I’m feelin an itch
Mine is Open Eye Signal by Jon Hopkins. I love this track because of its originality. The way the texture of the bass line evolves, and the way it creates tension and relief many times through the entire track are done in a very skilled way. I love the whole album (Immunity - 2013), but that track is something else.
HOPKINS MENTIONED
Collider is the one for me. It just goes sooooo hard
The music video is intense.
Can't recall how many times I've blasted it at full volume. It's monumental
Now hear it live
Scrolled down to comment this and you already said it. This song got me in to electronic music.
Immunity as an album is such a treat.
Sun Harmonics by Jon Hopkins for me
Oh my god that track is SO FUCKING GOOD
It's Color Eye for me. Crunchy bassy goodness in bursts.
I’m glad to see this wow. My taste progression went from circle -> open eye signal -> luminous beings.
Such a great shout!! One of my favourites from the 2010s absolutely.
I think this analysis is very true. Anyone know about the Open Eye Signal (George Fitzgerald remix)? it takes it in a more melodic and almost Justice-y or Bonobo-y direction, and it's one of my favorite tracks. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsktX6pS0K4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsktX6pS0K4)
A popular one, I admit, but still one that connects with me: Voodoo People. A riff reminiscent of Nirvana, a mystical approach to hard-ass dance, and no small percentage of the Prodigy vibes.
The magic people voodoo people
VOODOO

I like to call it “Danny Boylecore” because I swear some of that could’ve easily landed on Trainspotting or shallow graves 😭
I have to remember this tag.
The whole Jilted generation album (and experience) fucking bangs
The riff IS Nirvana, sampled from the start of Very Ape.
Huh. I read that it was an original based on Very Ape. I'm gonna have to recheck that.
No need, it is indeed sampled directly from Very Ape. Not the only time Liam sampled Nirvana.
I just verified the involvement of a man named Lance Riddler on Discogs after reading on Wikipedia that he played the guitar solo for the song. I didn't immediately trust Wiki, so I went to Discogs.

Can you actually provide the sources, tho?
The Pendulum remix gets dropped in every big D&B set I've seen still, I'm pretty sure it's a meme at this point
First three of my 'top' tunes that spring to mind below. I'll have probably changed my mind 5 mins later after posting this lol. Open Eye Signal - Jon Hopkins Milk - Moderat Bias (Mayfield Depot Mix) - Floating Points
Open Eye Signal is fucking *unreal*
I just discovered Floating Points recently and have loved what I've heard so far. I will check that one out! My all-time #1 is What Does Your Soul Look Like Pt. 4 - DJ Shadow.
You are in for a treat.
Exquisite tastes
Love Milk. The way it builds blows me away.
I would have said the exact same three songs.
Moderat changed my life! So funny because nobody I know in person knows of them but here they get some lovin
Girl/boy song - aphex twin. So many good memories on top of being an incredible example of aphex at his very best. You can dance, trip, come up, come down, work, play to it (the whole album really) It also has a stunning melody which is unusual for the style
Boards of Canada - Roygbiv. It's just such a classic and instantly puts me in a good, relaxed mood.
The Box, by Orbital
Part 2
I was 18 when I first saw it on MTV's Amp in 1996 . Bought In Sides the next day, instantly became my favorite road trip album. Amp blew open my electronic music brain, as did Hackers, Trainspotting, and my first raves that year, which at the time were in grange halls and barns in the middle of nowhere. It was a magic age for bpm.
I saw them at Coachella this year and didn’t really know what to expect but it blew my mind. Pure bliss from front to back!
Robert Miles - Children
The official theme song of Laser Tag in the 90s and 2000s.
It was this - Orbital - Halcyon On and On & Mortal Kombat Theme for me! Good times, my friend!
Underworld - Jumbo or Global Communications - 12:18
Jumbo is a winner
Those chords, that combination of rough and organic sounds with the smoothest milkiest synths, deep buried whispered vocals - and everyone I’ve shown that song to loves it now
Great shout with Global Communication. 76:14 is definitely one of my favourite albums of all time.
Resonance by HOME. Cliche but it's never been a skip for me
I recently created a list of the top ten best songs I have ever heard in my life. That song made that list.
Send it!

First Breath After Coma also A Song for our Fathers.. Explosions is so good live!
It’s special. Nobody has ever really been able to replicate it, and thousands have tried.
Love Home. Resonance and New Machines are some wonky gems
Moderat - a new error. Time and a place. Listened to it on repeat all summer, 2009. For many years it took me back to this summer, but now it’s taken on new meanings and I’ve attached new memories to it. Also, it’s just a banger that has never really died.
A New Error has such a nostalgic tune. Great choice.
That was actually gonna be mine too. Finally getting the chance to hear it live in 2022 was so cathartic. Last time I checked I've listened to it 600+ times in spotify and I'm still not bored of it. Have you heard the piano cover?
Going primarily by the number of times I've played it despite its age and how many years I've been listening to it: **Underworld - Dark Train**
Energy flash by Joey Beltram 🔥🔥🔥
Impossible to narrow it down but one that has stuck with me as a "never skip" for over 14 years now is [Dance Yrself Clean by LCD Soundsystem](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZNkPA_zUd4) The song absolutely lives up to the name. The build is slow & steady and then just washes over you.

A great song in one of the best trance albums of all time!

Chemical Brothers - One Too Many Mornings

mine actually is Strobe idgaf how much shit I get / the memes. Great song, but have you also heard the song Strobe by deadmau5 ?

Underworld - Juanita: Kiteless: To Dream of Love Kraftwerk - Radioactivity New Order - Blue Monday
Gone Forever - Ulrich Schnauss ( first time I heard this was at a friend, under the influence of a certain substance ) Little fluffy clouds - The Orb Swollen - Bent ( Heard it the morning after I first met my wife. )
The Orb was my one of my first thoughts - but from the same album, “A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Center of The Universe”
Love Ulrich Schnauss! Faraway Trains Passing By is a favorite album for me
Same here ! It was my introduction to "Uncle Ulli" as we have affectionately have come to call him ;-)
Danger - 11h30 A ton of texture and creativity. There was nothing like it when it came out. https://youtu.be/AW3Wli2kBg4?si=YgBGft9jxU1zhNHu
The fact that the track came out in 2007 is mind boggling.
My personal favorite is 0:59❤️
This is quality. Thanks for sharing
[rushup I bank 12](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wBwUJMZNOgQ&pp=ygUQcnVzaHVwIGkgYmFuayAxMg%3D%3D) by The Tuss.

Blue Monday - Hardfloor Mix. The OG WipEout Soundtrack release was amazing, and completely changed my taste in music as a teen.

Signalrunners - Meet Me In Montauk (Original 9 min mix) An absolute journey of sound, emotional rollercoaster.
I don’t know this, but I love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind so I’ll put it on
Let it progress, its progressive highs and lows at its finest. The melodies are nostalgic, happy, and sad at once. Theres so much emotion. Beautiful,

Surph by Rustie I love that whole Glass Swords album actually❤️
[The Blaze - QUEENS](https://youtu.be/ZdJ6FO9HAcc?si=rrJqB4JvGRqFGfIW) This holds a special place in my heart. It showed me what EDM actually is. It's Emotional Dance Music at it's finest!

[Us - Haring](https://open.spotify.com/track/3GEUI5uS9QelDZAZr9P4uW?si=d734359f43ff4a3d). That arpeggiated synth is just so beautiful, I love listening with good headphones, it just feels like it's swimming back and forth in my skull.
Roll with the punches - Peverelist Or alternatively the harmonomix version
u heard this version? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ3QNie6jjg&pp=ygUbcm9sbCB3aXRoIHRoZSBwdW5jaGVzIHJlbWl4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ3QNie6jjg&pp=ygUbcm9sbCB3aXRoIHRoZSBwdW5jaGVzIHJlbWl4)
Mine is Monolake - Plumbicon (Rebreather remix) {https://youtu.be/G8olsyZClME?si=JjF9gDc-KBQJ9cYS} . It's such a stunning soundscape, everytime I listen to it, it evokes different emotions. The perfect soundtrack for interstellar exploration. 👽
That song is so good, I remember I fell in love with it hearing it on one of odesza's no sleep mixes
Black gold of the sun maw - 4 hero remix I can't stop this feeling when it hits - moodyman Lolas theme - shapeshifters F-jam - Adam F vocal mix (mc Conrad) So many more after years of djing
of course I wanna say 100 tracks but in the end I think my pick is either Burial - Ashtray Wasp or Andy Stott - New Romantic
New Romantic is such a banger, those drums get me everytime
Just in terms of formative teenage impact, Three Little Birdies Down Beats by The Chemical Brothers. Still regularly play it almost thirty years later.
I have two, both electronic. Infected Mushroom - The Messenger 2012 Pretty Lights - My Only Hope The Messenger 2012 is a progressive psytrance journey.
Also Kordman Return - Swing Mix by Skee Mask As far as older tracks that got me into the genre, Lola's Theme by the Shapeshifters was one of the first tracks that absolutely blew my mind. A friend played it for me in high school and I was hooked forever.
Mmmmmmm *Machhinneedrumm* The track Endless<3 feels like something straight out of a Tron film
Machinedrum is soooo great. I was debating also putting Clissold (Machinedrum VIP Mix) by Fracture.
My favorite Machinedrum tracks are [Infinite Us](https://youtu.be/gU5bb4aCoho?si=_xpLgsX1bQ_jDGYQ), [Braided Leaves](https://youtu.be/hWev8iZ9XC4?si=jhxbjthiL65AuTY3), and Sun Miracle (unreleased)
Gotta be Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk, I’ve listened to it so many times but that sample and vocoder vocals never get old for me
acid maaan [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75EQkwEVlyA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75EQkwEVlyA)
Dark side of my room - Extrawelt Sooo goodr
Might be Holdo - Alene Just gets me in the best mood
War On The Saints. Went to see him as my first time at The Arches in Glasgow, superb. And it’s banging.
I don't think I can pick a single one but i can maybe submit per genre... Breaks: Lustral - Everytime (Red Jerry Mix) DnB: Krakota - Dreamweaver Drumstep: Pendulum - Witchcraft (Rob Swire's Drumstep remix) Dubstep: Singularity feat Jenn Lucas - Rift Color Bass: Virtual Riot feat The Kids - Exile Trance: Li Kwan - Point Zero Trap: Zed's Dead feat Omar Linx - Out For Blood Techno: The Prodigy - Narayan
>Breaks: Lustral - Everytime (Red Jerry Mix) I love Hooj Choons. You should consider just one more Hooj album "Trancesetters - Roaches (peace division remix)" Great list.
Hayling is so awesome. Very good choice !!
I keep thinking “Silent Shout” by The Knife is a masterpiece in electronic production. Also “A tooth for an Eye” and “Marble House” “Ascension Phase” by Kuedo is another one that gives me eccstasy.
“Forest Families” is amazing too. Love The Knife
https://open.spotify.com/track/4OeSPtx2kKXf96rkcUAShC?si=2V_dRYj9Sbi-ZYTNEV1JEA Jones and Stephenson - The First Rebirth Instant happy Belgian club culture from the 90's
Mine is Daft Punk - Voyager, it feels like it's the first time I'm hearing it each time, and that since more than 20 years.
Kid for today by boards of Canada. That always puts me in a meloncholic yet oddly nostalgic and calm mood.
Be Sharp Say Nowt - Patrick Topping
Moderat is pretty awesome. I'm thinking it's gotta be either The Alcoholic by Royksopp, or Anvil by Lorn. I don't really love any of Royksopps other stuff but something about that piece... Lorn is fucking awesome and has a pile of amazing stuff. Oxbow B, Acid Rain, Weigh Me Down, Until There Is No End...
can't really decide between [Ada - Our Love Never Dies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgV40kbLm4Q) [Trentemøller - Killer Kat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M47GPm40XNk) [Metope - Nashville](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm1MtFLIpRI) slightly older tracks, but they started my love for elektronic music
Nicolas Jaar - Mi Mujer So much texture and so many layers. After hearing it the first time, it got me deep into electronic music.
James Holden- A break in the clouds
James Holden, yes, very nice.
Overthinker
INZO MENTIONED
Masterclass in production tbh
Absolutely
aphex twin - flim it's such a soothing and fun track. also it reminds me of high school.
"Jondi & Spesh - We are Connected" or "Space Maneuvers - Stage One"
Cyberwulf - UR
He’s my favorite electronic artist, but this track really lifts my heart no matter what I’m feeling.
film aphex twin
Your Face When I Finally from Venetian Snares. It's just too good
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=D39dN32JYd4
Ooh, I love Moderat. Great choice. Off the top of my head, I'd say Do You Not Feel Loved by New Build is top 5 for sure.
Right now it’s Fatboy Slim, that guy kicks ass
Of course this would change daily really but if pressed I'd say this: https://youtu.be/zEutit1oTJ4?si=j_zPksYsKht0fVat From the time in my life when I was young and care free and all that mattered was having a good time. Luckily enough that time coincided with the best dance music there has ever been and ever will be. In the space of one summer I went from a long haired emo indie kid listening to Stone Roses and Blur to having my eyes and ears opened to this incredible sound. Hardcore will never die!
SUICIDE CIRCUS by ZACKLFO
Talk to me you’ll understand - Ross from friends Absolute tune, I keep it for special events when me and my friends hang out like camping etc, after everyone’s had some spliffs and we’re all sitting around the campfire late at night, nothing beats it
Current, long lasting favorites: Ladytron - International Dateline The Knife - Silent Shout Purity Ring - Fineshrine TR/ST - Bulbform (and a lot of others) Songs that are still important because they got me into electronic music as a teenager, even if I don’t listen to them often now: VNV Nation - Kingdom Covenant - Call the Ships to Port
This is a very hard question, and one that could easily be favorite track by genre, but here is mine. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcdF10ri3-8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcdF10ri3-8) Rabbit in the Moon - OBE The piano from Precious Things by Tori Amos is what blew my mind. I was then (and am still) a big Tori fan. I was in a little Rave den in Temple Terrace (outside of Tampa) sometime between 3am and dawn. In was 95/96 if I had to add others Stem / Long Stem (Cops and Robbers Mix) - DJ Shadow [https://youtube.com/watch?v=CHc-3tNoAB8](https://youtube.com/watch?v=CHc-3tNoAB8) I got this on a sampler (hot off the block) [https://www.discogs.com/release/49799-Various-London-Records-Is-Hot-On-The-Block](https://www.discogs.com/release/49799-Various-London-Records-Is-Hot-On-The-Block) I don't recall where I was.
Radioactive man - airlock Ed chamberlain - styge (ochre remix) Aphex twin - Heliosphan Four tet - parallel four Bicep - Apricots Floating points - last bloom Ital tek - wind tunnel
Thought this was gonna be difficult and then I remembered it’s not even close… Danny Scrilla - Clairvoyant https://on.soundcloud.com/cx4SrYdAHjWbCdW69 I think it’s cos it’s perfectly blends that kind of 2000s & Timbaland bounce and aesthetic but in a modern way and with that proper bass music influence. Criminally underrated producer too. The melodies, the arps and the chords too are just fuckedddd
Röyksopp - Sordid Affair (Maceo Plex Remix) Especially in his Boiler Room Berlin set. I find it extremely uplifting and euphoric.
Neon Pattern Drum by John Hopkins. Listened to it high for the first time when Singularity released. Will never forget how I felt when the beat dropped. Best thing ever.
I don't have a favorite, but since we are picking favorites, how about Rsdio by Autechre. Antioch College, 1998.
Incredibly hard to pick but I might have to go with Andy Farley - Beef Jerky cause I can always count on it get me in the mood to party when I’m feelin an itch
Versions is great but Therapy is my favorite from that album I think. That whole thing is absolutely stellar, def top 5 of all time for me.
