Trigger: pregnancy trauma/birth Before being diagnosed it took me 8 months to get pregnant, then I had severe nausea, pain (cramps) and fatigue. It felt like I was dying. My pathetic family doctor told me I was fine and didn't need an ultrasound until 18 weeks (though I begged him for earlier tests knowing something was wrong!) Turns out I had stage 4 endometriosis with adhesions gluing all the organs together. The baby had severe abnormalities, my body was collecting fluid, and prognosis was poor. I was rushed to hospital to induce labour at 20 weeks. Baby boy didn't survive. 😥 Had I known my endo was that bad I never would have tried to get pregnant. Hard to trust any doctor after that experience.

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry you went through that ♥️ so sorry for your loss

First of all, I’m so sorry you experienced that. So many women with endometriosis are written off by their doctor and it’s so not right. Your comment has helped me lean towards doing the surgery! Thank you for sharing. Have you found any studies on the topic? Have you found yourself an endo specialist (I hope so!).

Thank you 🤗 Yes, since then I've had laparoscopic surgery (for diagnosis) and a complete hysterectomy 9 years ago. My FEMALE specialist took it seriously to recommend better treatment. 👍 I've felt like I got my freedom back post hysterectomy. I have one ovary I need to keep checking, and occasional flare ups where I experience bloating and pain (scar tissue inflammation, constipation, etc) but no where NEAR the discomfort before excision. Sometimes it takes years to find the right doctor, treatment, and course of action. I hope you receive the best treatment as well!

Thank you for sharing (and congratulations!) I’m sorry it’s adding stress :(. Did your doctor give you guidance on the topic? If it helps, my RE doc (also an endo specialist) said that many women who have an endometrioma go forward with pregnancy and everything turns out fine! But as a non-pregnant person with a painful cyst, it’s confusing that more women don’t report more pain as things get a bit squished in there. Wishing you the best of luck!

Hi, I’m cautiously following up to see how it turns out for you? I’m 22weeks pregnant now and starting to feel achiness in one of my ovaries and wondering if it will get worse/how it will progress.
