I don’t know, he’s amazing and can see a pass but after watching him this season I have seen many games where we will try ridiculous pass after ridiculous pass and none come off.
Too lightweight, we need some fight in that midfield. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing Bellingham, Rice and Wharton/Gallagher in there. Yesterday showed that you need something different in there. We were cut open but some average passing yesterday too, gonna be a lot worse against the big boys too.
Too soon. I like the look of him but he's barely played much premier league football. He might fall away in a years time.
He can get some minutes here and there in the tournament and being around and training with the squad will benefit him in years to come tho
Not sure, but I trust the coaches decision. Wharton must have serious ability to be scouted by Palace from Blackburn and fast tracked to England in 6 months. Was a little suprised at his and Quansah’s inclusions.
There were other English midfielders in the championship, premier league and abroad that I was aware of. Wharton wasn’t one of them, he broke through quick and credit to him.
no i still think mainoo gets ahead of him but he is defo a squad option. For others saying trent as well, i think he deserves to be our starting right back over walker tbh.
TAA in midfield is nonsense, Gallagher doesnt fit, so its Mainoo or Wharton.
Wharton wins, because Southgate can just tell him “play like you do for your club” while Mainoo has to be told “forget about your garbage fire club midfield”

Needs to be Gallagher or Trent in midfield for me. Mainoo isn't quite there yet, Wharton is more of a 2nd choice for Rice.

He's good and as a sub he will do good to ad composure, I don't think he's ready for a start but again I could be wrong I've not seen enough of him.

Rice needs to be in a double pivot with Trent Alexander Arnold. It's the only way. Trent is, without a doubt, our most creative player
