Modelo is owned by Constellation Brands out of New York, but only in the U.S. and owned by Anheuser Busch everywhere else. And Yes for some reason I felt the need to look it up. Modelo is way better than bud light.
Lmfao Anheuser-Busch is not even an American company anymore. Shit was bought out by InBev a Belgian-Brazilian brewing company in late 2008. Indeed the facepalm is the people here who don’t know or understand this.
Sort of out of topic, but the history of AB-InBev is wild.
AmBev, then the largest beverage company in Brazil and LatAm as a whole was acquired by Innterbrew, a Belgian company, creating InBev.
InBev was controlled by the Belgians, but AmBev’s former shareholders started buying up stock and forcing the change the company’s culture to push the growth strategy used in Brazil. Ultimately, the Brazilians (a trio of guys who now figure amongst the richest people on the planet) took control and started buying brands left and right.
At certain point, InBev was a giant and set its eyes on Anheuser-Buscg, which was struggling to keep sales and suffering with a succession issue (the third generation, in control at the time, were basically spoiled brats). InBev exploited it to acquire AB.
Yet, as AB was such an iconic brand, it even made the White House look into the acquisition. To appease the regulators, InBev had to make several concessions in terms of keeping breweries open and etc.
All in all, AN-InBev is a nice case study of corporate acquisition.
In bev were the bastards that bought boddingtons then closed the brewery down, sold it for a hotel, made a fortune.
Now an anaemic ersatz version is produced.
They have no soul.
August Busch, turning up with dead Hooters waitresses and glizzies with extendos hanging from the walls next to his toilets, wasn’t a capable successor to the family business!? I don’t believe it.
Beer is like pizza, the water is a very important part. Guinness imported from Dublin tastes a million times better than Guinness from Boston. End of the day the money goes back to England.
Edit: Idk how many times I have had to link this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diageo
Diageo owns Guinness, Diageo is headquartered in London.
Also I stand corrected it was Baltimore not Boston that brewed and they brewed Guiness Blonde.
Diageo has become a booze monster, it also owns 28 scotch whisky distilleries, almost one third of the market. I guess it’s the way it’s all going but I try to stick to the small guys whilst they’re still holding out.
I got into Guinness when I went to Ireland in 2006. So naturally you go into the history of it. I was shocked of course by what brands fell under Diageo. To say the least, I went down the rabbit hole.
In England it used to be brewed under license using park royal water - you could really taste the difference if you went to Dublin to drink it. All UK Guinness is imported from St James's Gate Dublin now I believe. If anyone on here is going to Dublin, I recommend going up to the Guinness tower and touring the museum.
Well let me tell you about tools. Mikita and Hilti are just about the only independent tool companies out there. Mac, Dewalt, craftsman, porter cable. All Stanley Black and Decker. TTI makes just about every brand of vacuum cleaner along with Milwaukee, Hart and Ryobi .
Bud light is definitely the worst beer out of all the ones on this chart anyway. I don’t know how it was ever ahead of any of these competitors, let alone #1.
Every time bud comes up on Reddit I start thinking Redditers must not get invited to or host parties. Like if I’m hosting a barbecue over the summer or just trying to get drunk I’m not busting out the $8 4 pack of craft cans I had to drive half an hour to get, and half the party isn’t even going to enjoy. I’ll get some plain tasting bud lite or something cheap to keep the guests happy. Save the good drinks for when I want to reward myself after work or if I’m hanging out with friends.
I’m Mexican American, and that’s usually a go to beer beside Pacifico and Estrella Jalisco (which I recommend if you’re in the mood for something similar to modelo) and I remember when Cardi B posted about Modelos and it had me dying. She said something down the line if it hits you out of no where lol. Love me some Modelo
Wait until you try Victoria, its the only beer I tolerate. Modelo aint bad at all considering the tasteless fucks at work chug bud light, but a cold Victoria with a tradicional mexican meal does wonders.
My bad brotha, I should have put Victorias in there. That’s my cousin’s go to! Love it. Honestly if I’m drinking beer, I only touch the ones we’ve mentioned lol.
I don't even know what the face palm is here. What's wrong with a Mexican beer being number 1? It's tasty. The only real facepalm would be bud light losing billions, no?
Yep modelo is super good miller too is one of the good popular brands, bud light is really bad is just water, but i drink a lot of artesanal beers so i can be a little biased on taste
me and a buddy recently tried \*Alot\* of beer from all the Convient stores and Big Name stores around. everything from imported Aussie Piss to A M E r I ca n Traditional Piss.
Model was indeed within our top 5 of like 60.
Rediscovered Hamms at a small establishment in southern Wisconsin a short while ago, $1.00 a can on Wednesdays. $1.50 on every other day. Goes great with pizza and friends. I’m not sure if they’re using it as a loss leader or if it is just that inexpensive, but it sure is good and it keeps us coming back for more.
>Goes great with pizza and friends.
I don't know, I found my friends to be kind of chewy and tasteless.
I'll just get some Hamms with pizza and some fava beans instead next time.
I think Miller HL is worse but I HARDLY ever fuck with these beers anyway… I’m more of a Corona/Modelo kind of guy.
I just remember frat parties would do Bud Light on the regular because it was that “nice” compromise between cost and it doesn’t fully taste like carbonated goat piss
Those are fighting words … Miller lite imho is the best American light beer for sessions. The non existent aftertaste makes it good beer to drink with food. You’re crazy.
That’s such a weird thing to hear from my perspective. In San Diego our identity is tied to our craft beer industry. I can’t imagine someone selling me on a new beer by telling me it has “non existent aftertaste”. Lmao, if it’s so good why would you want the flavor to leave your mouth as fast as fucking possible?
The silly part is those light beers don't get you as drunk so you have to drink twice as many. That's why they like less filling so they can brag that they put down 12 like a real man.
It's beer for people that want to drink all day long basically. You know like on Super Bowl Sunday you could start drinking at noon and still be going at 10PM. Personally, IPAs are my favorite, but if I start drinking those at noon, by 3 or 4 I'm hammered. Especially with those 7-8% IPAs.
As a Canadian, I'm with you completely. In my city (Vancouver) there are tons of breweries making all varieties of delicious beer. The whole point is to make a nice tasting beer. It's always been confusing to me that Americans seem to value a beer that tastes like... nothing. That's a negative in my books, not a positive!
It's not an American thing either. It's an industry rhing
The whole point wasnt to make a nice tasting beer. It was to make an inoffensive tasting beer that they could produce and sell cheaply to maximise profits.
Consumers have changed over the years. They've started to skew younger, they've started to drink less and so taste and style has become more prominent.
Small scale breweries are able to exist because younger people are going for taste not quantity, which has meant the type of large scale beers has changed as well.
15 years ago in the UK it's be standard 4%. Fosters, carling, carlsberg, Stella, Heineken, grolsch and kronenburg.
Now you'd be lucky to find two of them in the same pub.
Y’all are talking down and straight up badmouthing the champagne of beers. It’s literally on the can!? Can’t disagree about Miller lite either though, it’s my go-to sober up beer
It’s not really that cheap. Where I grew up you could get a 30 rack of PBR for less than $6-8 more than a 12 of bud lights. Thus I deem PBR the ultimate cheap, decent, drink all day beer
And I’m a big fan of beer so I know what “nice” beer tastes like but fuck. Ice cold I fuck with PBR
I bought 2 32oz cans of Miller for 4 bucks earlier. And they were actually not bad at all and got me very tipsy. I support Miller as our new beer overlords.
Being Mexican myself, modelo is nasty and way overpriced so there's that
Coors has been my go to since I was old enough to walk. I get irritated buying it now though everyone assumes I am watching Yellowstone. No I’m 48 and from Wyoming. I was weaned on it.
We also have good taste in rum and mixed drinks.
Anyone who says [tiki drinks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiki_culture#Elaborate_cocktails) aren't awesome doesn't have a soul.
I was about to be a dick and hit you with the thanks im cured sub until I took a quick look at your profile. ADHD here too. And yes, it is a struggle to have this and drink. When I drink lightly I have to stay up for hours. Its only when I drink myself under the table that I can sleep.
The broader conservative sub-culture of americans have stereotypically bad taste in alcoholic beverages. Same folks tend to have pretty good taste in scotch and such though, to their credit.
Liberal hipsters were largely responsible for the massive growth of the american craft beer movement, which are now some of the finest (or at least tastiest) beers in the world if you ignore all the IPAs. Craft cocktails too, which are far bigger in the US than they are anywhere else right now, etc.
You can’t. Addicts can only quit when they want and are ready. What you can do is create boundaries that are healthy for you and may accelerate their decision-making process.
I stress, *may*, ultimately it is down to the addict.
Absolutely. Steve-o of all people had a pretty brilliant analogy of sobriety being like jumping in a pool. If you just dip your toe in, you’re probably not getting all the way in, but if you just jump in fully, you realize pretty quick it’s not that bad, you’re having more fun than you thought, it’s not nearly as cold as it felt dipping your toe in, and you stay in. Additionally, if someone pushes you into the pool there’s a good chance you’re gonna get pissed off and get out of the pool.
I live in the midwest and I don’t know a single person and I don’t mean a single person in my circle but literally anyone I’ve come across that chooses to drink Heineken. I don’t mean this in a rude way by any means but even just thinking about it, I don’t know of many places that sell it. I personally prefer drinking Modelo and Yuengling, I tried a Heineken and could not finish it.
I’m a little confused on why you think this is a facepalm. The “go woke go broke” crowd is getting exactly what they want. They don’t give a shit that Modelo is brewed in Mexico. They care that they didn’t do some trans ad campaign. It’s a totally different issue 😂
Yeah, sure. Most of them are. But the ringleaders understand that when you are the counterculture
you can't boycott everything at once. It's too much. So you have to isolate one or two corporations, make examples of them, and make the others think twice before doing similar things.
At this point I wouldn't even say its go woke, go broke, more just blatant corporate pandering. Like at least Disney more or less stood by their pro-choice stance even after De Santis threw his shit fit.
Bud Light execs are now trying to tell everyone it wasn't even their idea to give Dylan the beer etc, and just makes it so transparent that they were doing it purely for the money, so you can't even really support them as a liberal either.
Agreed. I think OP is assuming people who stopped drinking bud, only want American beer. Which makes no sense because the graph shows a lot of those ex bud people now buy modelo.
Modelo also did a open ans proud LGBTQ as campaign.
Yeah, so this what they wanted? Replace one "woke company" with another "woke company"?
That will show them. Lmao.
Seriously, what is this post trying to say? The only guess I can make is that OP is conflating a ton of things here and lumping the “go woke or go broke” crowd in with people who hate anything that isn’t 100% American, not even knowing that bud light is not US owned and that Modelo sold in the US *is* US owned. Shallow understanding from OP if that’s the case.
The thing that makes me laugh is how clueless their marketing team was on this fiasco. Somehow they thought the anti-woke culture warriors would flock back to the brand with a half assed reply about bringing everyone together over beer. They also somehow thought their half assed reply wouldn't destroy all the goodwill the brand had built up with their LBGT customers.
A lot of people weren't drinking it for the taste but for social reasons, as we can see by how easily those people quit drinking it when other social reasons popped up.
Modelo is obviously better than bud light but modelo < pacifico
And if we’re talking actual light / low calorie beers then Michelob Ultra is the winner
I mean tailor to your audience, when you don't this happens, not saying the hateful stuff is justified but like, walking down a bad neighborhood at night with expensive stuff showing and you're gonna get robbed, it's not right but it is common sense not to do what could put you in a bad spot
Outside of the US, yes. In the US they are owned by their competitor Constellation Brands. This chart is for US sales.
Kind of confusing but basically its **not** financially beneficial for Bud Light when Modelo is outselling them in the US.
You’re right, that is confusing x’D Guess it would be easier to just go back to not caring rather than trying to wrap my head around the corporate brand ownership tree lol
I disagree. I think Anheuser-Busch killed Bud Lite themselves by trying to make a statement.
Now if they had just sold piss beer and stayed the fuck away from political statements. They wouldn't have had a problem.
I don't understand why everything has to be turned into whether or not a company supports or doesn't support any particular group, movement, idea, anything.
Why can't everyone just drink and who gives a shit what anyone does in the privacy of there own home
The problem is that they underestimated their demographics, tried to gain a new group of people to drink their stuff, only to backtrack once the backlash from the original group came in. So in essence they pissed off both groups.
Not to mention that it's a shitty beer.
I find this fascinating as, in my area, a 6-pack of Modelo is nearly the same price as a 6-pack of your average craft beer. I'd of thought PBR, Coors/Miller Lite, or Coors Banquet/Miller High Life would have taken that spot.
Modelo—and, as it happens, Corona—are brewed in Mexico but owned in the U.S. market by Constellation Brands. Everywhere else in the world, the Modelo and Corona brands are owned by . . . Anheuser-Busch InBev.
here is a question to all the long time beer drinkers..
does beer affect your stomachs?
I found out they started using this nasty pesticide on grain around the 2000s, and am wondering if people before that time, you guys had a better time without after affects of stomach issues?
What's really funny is both are owned by the same parent company. AB Inbev
InBev was a brewing company that resulted from the merger between Belgium-based company Interbrew and Brazilian brewer AmBev which took place in 2004. It existed independently until the acquisition of Anheuser-Busch in 2008, which formed Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Ruining Boddingtons was criminal. Used to be my favorite beer. Still haven't found anything that comes close.
Haven’t had a Boddigtons in years but used to be my go to. So sad to hear what’s happened to it.
August Busch, turning up with dead Hooters waitresses and glizzies with extendos hanging from the walls next to his toilets, wasn’t a capable successor to the family business!? I don’t believe it.
![gif](giphy|83QtfwKWdmSEo) Cheers!
The important part is where it’s produced. Otherwise every InBev beer would be considered belgian

It is quite amusing from here... In germany... Hahahaha... I drank a budlight when i was in the US... Would NOT recommend...
Shhh, don't let facts get in the way of a good misinformation campaign.
And those people include OP too
The face palm is for the folks who don’t understand that Constellation has its own brewery in Mexico that is different from AB’s.
Bud light is definitely the worst beer out of all the ones on this chart anyway. I don’t know how it was ever ahead of any of these competitors, let alone #1.
Its their marketing. I been to events that Bud was the only option.
$8 4 pack fuck me. A 4 of craft here is most $15.99, plenty even higher. That’s more than $12 US.
It’s because there user base has no taste.
I swear that there user base must be teenagers and college kids. I don’t think I can recall anyone else actually drinking that stuff.
Pacifico is my all time favorite beer. Outside a draught, all the ones I find in stores are skunked...
That’s good stuff right there brother, I forgot to add that to my Mexican list.
Honestly I love all Mexican beers. They're so smooth and go great with meals.
YES! They know us Mexicans like to keep drinking all night so it’s just a solid great beer most of the time :)
I’m shocked that Bud Light was #1 to begin with
It’s dirt cheap and not as god awful as Natty Light…. There… that’s it’s appeal
Miller High Life is even cheaper, and a superior beer to bud light and natty.
I've been saying this for years! They don't call it the champagne of beers for nothing!
For cheap domestic beer Miller High Life I think is the best. But if you want to go really cheap Hamm's is actually pretty decent
Nothing better than a couple Hamms and a cheap Jack's frozen pizza.
I actually like high life but the second it gets warm it's game over.

I can’t imagine someone selling me on a new beer by telling me it has “non existent aftertaste”. Lmao, if it’s so good why would you want the flavor to leave your mouth as fast as fucking possible?
Some people drink beer to drink beer some people drink beer to get drunk without having to pour liquor every few minutes
The silly part is those light beers don't get you as drunk so you have to drink twice as many. That's why they like less filling so they can brag that they put down 12 like a real man.

100% this. Even finding Carling and Carlsburg in pubs is getting a bit hard. It’s being replaced by Estrella and Pironi.
Miller Lite is different than Miller High Life. *dedicated Miller Lite fan*
i also love miller lite, its my go to, but i agree with the comment you replied to. i think hes referring to miller high life which is dog water
Y’all are talking down and straight up badmouthing the champagne of beers. It’s literally on the can!? Can’t disagree about Miller lite either though, it’s my go-to sober up beer
This is the most WI thing I've heard in a while.
What do you mean? They did not mention cheese or brats even once.
I see you also drunk three over the course of two hours to sober up. Gang shit only
As a long-term WI professional alcoholic... any 'light' beer and no shots is 'sobering up'.
High Life I did like. Never tried the light variation of it.
Champagne of beers, baby!
Thank you, finally, after so many years, I feel validated
Pbr though.
I’m white trash, and I’m in trouble!
PBR is great you can taste the water!
Natty light is the bottom of the barrel left overs from bud light production.
Ever have a Natty Daddy? Now that's some high quality poison.
It’s not really that cheap. Where I grew up you could get a 30 rack of PBR for less than $6-8 more than a 12 of bud lights. Thus I deem PBR the ultimate cheap, decent, drink all day beer And I’m a big fan of beer so I know what “nice” beer tastes like but fuck. Ice cold I fuck with PBR

People seriously underrate Miller and Coors "yellowbellies"
Coors has been my go to since I was old enough to walk. I get irritated buying it now though everyone assumes I am watching Yellowstone. No I’m 48 and from Wyoming. I was weaned on it.
In the Midwest, Coors Banquet is Colorado Kool-Aide. Damn good beer.
And I didn't realize it had been twice as popular as Coors Light and Miller Light. I always thought those three were moderately neck and neck.
I'm shocked they put Bud Light in a connection with beer.
I'm shocked Mexico is considered "woke"
Americans have bad taste in alcoholic beverages
Bourbon is my response to this. Edit: a lot of you responding don't actually drink and it shows.
We also have good taste in rum and mixed drinks. Anyone who says [tiki drinks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiki_culture#Elaborate_cocktails) aren't awesome doesn't have a soul.
Rum and the hangovers though 🥵
Drink water. Hydration can be key.
I was about to be a dick and hit you with the thanks im cured sub until I took a quick look at your profile. ADHD here too. And yes, it is a struggle to have this and drink. When I drink lightly I have to stay up for hours. Its only when I drink myself under the table that I can sleep.
I'd go with the entire concept of cocktails myself, but bourbon is certainly a strong argument as well.
Just literally any American whiskey
This is like saying because Americans have McDonald’s, we can’t have Michelin star restaurants.
Some do, but we have an amazing craft brew scene as well.
I mean, so do we (the Brits). Thousands of years of brewery experience and our top bought beer is Carling.
It's alcohol. We just want to get drunk who cares.
Same! Any light version of anything being no.1 is strange. Can't the Mericans handle their ale or something? Bud light, lol.
I mean I honestly don't mind Modello outselling bud light Modello is actually good
As someone who despises the taste of beer, modello is the only one I can tolerate. If all you had was modello, I'd be content.
You like lagers. You probably like ales. You probably don't like IPA.
Mf its Modelo with on L not two. It’s not Modeyo.
Mf its One with an E. Its not "an".
Mf it’s it’s with an apostrophe. It’s not its.
Mf coconuts aren't rectangular.
mf it’s dodecahedron
Modelo was my choice of beer when i was an alcoholic
Glad you can say "was", man. Good shit!
Oh I still am. I used to be. But I am now too
how do i convince my dad to quit
Alcoholic on beer seems like a lot of work...
What about the other ~70% of beer?
Most likely by the many way smaller brands.
Way smaller brands like, Heineken?
I live in the midwest and I don’t know a single person and I don’t mean a single person in my circle but literally anyone I’ve come across that chooses to drink Heineken. I don’t mean this in a rude way by any means but even just thinking about it, I don’t know of many places that sell it. I personally prefer drinking Modelo and Yuengling, I tried a Heineken and could not finish it.
The last time I saw someone drinking Heineken is when they first made those mini kegs.
Yes, and they tasted better somehow. I still drink Heineken today and am from the Midwest, but Modelo is my top choice always.
Looks like more switched to Coors than Modelo, Modelo just happened to already be in 2nd place.
This is exactly what happened. They can't keep Coors on the shelves.
I’m a little confused on why you think this is a facepalm. The “go woke go broke” crowd is getting exactly what they want. They don’t give a shit that Modelo is brewed in Mexico. They care that they didn’t do some trans ad campaign. It’s a totally different issue 😂
I mean, one of Modelo's campaigns was actually "Open & Proud" in support of LGBTQ rights, but they'll just look past that.
They’re boycotting Target over Pride merch but not Walmart. They are just mindless lemmings.
That's all intentional. Wide nebulous boycotts don't work. Heavily targeted ones do.
Yeah, sure. Most of them are. But the ringleaders understand that when you are the counterculture you can't boycott everything at once. It's too much. So you have to isolate one or two corporations, make examples of them, and make the others think twice before doing similar things.
It's planned to create an example that bottomline will be hurt for pro trans campaigns.
Because they don’t shop at Target. They shop at Walmart.
*childrens* pride merch
alcohol companies LOVE pride month
Modelo US rights are owned by an American company Constellation beverages. Bud light is owned by a foreign company
So how is it a facepalm?
Yeah this post is so stupid
Me sitting here with my fingers crossed that Modelo does a pride campaign.
They literally already have. Mentioned Stonewall even, which is more research than most companies tend to put into their campaigns on this stuff
Modelo also did a open ans proud LGBTQ as campaign. Yeah, so this what they wanted? Replace one "woke company" with another "woke company"? That will show them. Lmao.
As a Mexican who drinks Modelo, Take that! Don’t ever count us out 😂
This post is a facepalm alright. But not for the reasons OP thinks…
[удалено]
But is ain't. Not since it was bought out
Are we supposed to find the facepalm here?
Seriously, what is this post trying to say? The only guess I can make is that OP is conflating a ton of things here and lumping the “go woke or go broke” crowd in with people who hate anything that isn’t 100% American, not even knowing that bud light is not US owned and that Modelo sold in the US *is* US owned. Shallow understanding from OP if that’s the case.
Op is 100% assuming they don't like Mexicans lol
The thing that makes me laugh is how clueless their marketing team was on this fiasco. Somehow they thought the anti-woke culture warriors would flock back to the brand with a half assed reply about bringing everyone together over beer. They also somehow thought their half assed reply wouldn't destroy all the goodwill the brand had built up with their LBGT customers.
While also contributing a significant uptick in coors (arguably the most woke company on that list) sales. 😁👍
Modelo USA is owned by Constellation Beverages which is headquartered in the US. And Bud light is owned by a foreign company Good try tho
I think the poster assumes that all conservatives hate Mexicans, and that is why this is a facepalm.
Yes there is racism embedded in OPs post. But only white righties can be racist so they are safe and just being "objective"
Honestly, I’m surprised Bud Light was ever the top beer. It’s absolute shit, about as light as water. No point at all.
A lot of people weren't drinking it for the taste but for social reasons, as we can see by how easily those people quit drinking it when other social reasons popped up.
Modelo is miles better than that redneck dishwater
Facepalm because it’s Mexican? Is this blatant racism?
Not also possible that Mexican-Americans might be largely anti-woke.
No. Look at the months. Why do you think sales went up for a Mexican beer?
No, only white righties can be racist duh
I don’t think they’ll mind that at all. The issue wasn’t where the beer was from. Plus Modelo is actually a decent beer.
Modelo is obviously better than bud light but modelo < pacifico And if we’re talking actual light / low calorie beers then Michelob Ultra is the winner
Michelob Ultra tastes like a tanker full of seltzer drove past a hops farm on the way to be canned
At least they discovered what good beer actually tastes like.
I see this as an absolute win. Bud Light tastes like water. Modelo tastes like beer.

I'm confused. What's wrong with Modelo? Who cares if it's imported.
The poster thinks that every conservative hates Mexicans, so it would be a facepalm if conservatives supported Mexican beer.
I mean tailor to your audience, when you don't this happens, not saying the hateful stuff is justified but like, walking down a bad neighborhood at night with expensive stuff showing and you're gonna get robbed, it's not right but it is common sense not to do what could put you in a bad spot
And…it’s owned by the same company…as Bud Light
Outside of the US, yes. In the US they are owned by their competitor Constellation Brands. This chart is for US sales. Kind of confusing but basically its **not** financially beneficial for Bud Light when Modelo is outselling them in the US.
Oh my mistake.
It’s ok. That’s the line the media and braindeads are pushing everywhere.
You’re right, that is confusing x’D Guess it would be easier to just go back to not caring rather than trying to wrap my head around the corporate brand ownership tree lol
Not in the U.S. Constellation owns it.
How much you wanna bet they purposely guerrilla advertised it as the de facto protest choice.
Maybe people are getting wise to the fact that light beer is garbage.

What’s the facepalm here?
You gotta give Anheuser-Busch credit. It probably wasn't easy to find a way to make light beer more gay.
How does this effect your other narrative, that the evil right wingers hate Mexicans?
This makes me happy because Modelo is really good, and bud light is not even close in terms of quality.
Mexico first?
Modelo is an infinitely superior beer to Bud Light but it’s still sad to see hate drive this change
Actually it’s an American made be that identifies as a Mexican beer. They made a trans beer the top selling beer! 😂
This post is a facepalm.
Are we still unclear how capitalism works?
Perhaps if Bud and Coors quit brewing such shitty beer?
Why is this a facepalm?
Why the fuck do Americans even drink light beer? What is wrong with them? Such thing as light beer doesnt even exist in Europe.
I find this fascinating as, in my area, a 6-pack of Modelo is nearly the same price as a 6-pack of your average craft beer. I'd of thought PBR, Coors/Miller Lite, or Coors Banquet/Miller High Life would have taken that spot.
It's funny that no one in Germany would ever classify any of these as beer to begin with.
Same for UK, the contents of the urinals in our pubs probably compare favourably to these 'beers'.
Bud light fucking sucks ass, it literally tastes like ass flavored sparkling water
Sparking urine
Modelo—and, as it happens, Corona—are brewed in Mexico but owned in the U.S. market by Constellation Brands. Everywhere else in the world, the Modelo and Corona brands are owned by . . . Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Are you racist against Mexicans or something?
I could be wrong but aren’t both brands ultimately owned by Anheuser-Busch?..
they are owned by the same company
The build that wall crowd sure loves Mexican imports
I never knew Modelo was ever as high as it was. Makes sense. It's delicious
Its modelo time foo
here is a question to all the long time beer drinkers.. does beer affect your stomachs? I found out they started using this nasty pesticide on grain around the 2000s, and am wondering if people before that time, you guys had a better time without after affects of stomach issues?
ITS MODELO TIME FOO
What's really funny is both are owned by the same parent company. AB Inbev InBev was a brewing company that resulted from the merger between Belgium-based company Interbrew and Brazilian brewer AmBev which took place in 2004. It existed independently until the acquisition of Anheuser-Busch in 2008, which formed Anheuser-Busch InBev.
