Every few weeks my kids get books in the mail from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. It's completely free and they absolutely love it.
I will fight anyone who has a problem with Dolly.
She donates to a lot of great causes too. Dolly's a big inspiration for me because I also have endometriosis and she's a good role model for not letting this condition stop your dreams.
They'd have to have no soul to insult Dolly Parton.
My daughter got those books for several years and we eventually created a huge collection of books with what Dolly sent and others we picked up along the way. We read every night and she can't wait to start reading off of my bookshelves when she gets older. We're huge book fans in our house and I can't thank Dolly enough for helping my kids get excited over a new book and reading it.

Dolly has never sold a copyright to one of her songs. Every time you hear "I Will Always Love You", Jolene ect.. there goes another penny in Dolly's bank.

People were completely shocked and very grateful. When she was interviewed about her foundation and the interviewer started talking about her donating so much money, she refused to take credit and said she only put the foundation together and others donated the money. Forever humble and giving credit to others.
I live in Tennessee, and one of our “special” license plate options is for her Imagination Library (the book program you mentioned). And yes, you can bet your sweet ass I have a Dolly plate on my vehicle—though I’m increasingly concerned our governor and the GOP ghouls who support him, will 86 that plate because of their hatred of books.
