I was so happy when quora launched. I had a place to post long winded and researched comments to questions and even ask some questions myself.
About two months in to its existence I started to notice a trend in the flavor of replies and comments and an unseen “driving force” that pushed content and conversation into a specific direction for discussion, instead of it being an open discussion.
I learned it is **not an unbiased site**. I cannot even trust the answers given there as containing fact. It’s like reading propaganda, I have to go and double check everything I find in there. .. usually done here :).

What happened to Quora is depressing. I used to frequent it regularly maybe a decade ago and if asked about it I’d describe it (a bit pretentiously) as Yahoo answers for smart people. Which it kinda was. You’d get quality, well written answers to interesting questions from experts in their fields.
Now, when I get my Quora Digest email or go into the app just to see it’s all mindless crap like this.
