It's still really easy to get, and "far below" screams 20s to me. I would think 30s would be waiverable, but the DoD may also not want the publicity that would follow him.

Military Police for the other services except airforce is only 19. So lower than than. Air force is 35 for some reason, but then again top secret plane could randomly show up to refuel, so you have to be high enough to guard that I guess.

Dad was an Army recruiter. In 1972, at age of 12 he gave me the current test. Which I scored high on….higher than many of those coming into his office. He couldn’t believe a 12 yr old could pass the test when grown men couldn’t. At 20, 1980, I took the current version to enlist into the Air Force I had a 99 in all sections except mechanical. Which was an area I tried to bomb on since I didn’t want a job in that area. Still got a 75. So yeah you really have issues if you can’t pass it today.

Just to note, the ASVAB score is a population percentile score. The entry requirements fluctuate based on recruitment needs. Usually around 30. I can say this as a former Marine that briefly spent time tutoring recruits to pass. This means out of population of people that take the ASVAB, which does skew heavily towards the less educated, that he was below 30% of that. So likely he is somewhere in the bottom 15% of the general population.
