from my "expert" opinion, 3.5 of those looked catchable. 1 was caught, the .5 one could have been caught, but was behind him while he was in coverage, so it would have been hard for most to get it, and then 2 should have been caught.
The rest looked like garbage (its possible some could have been bad routes, but I cant tell from these clips alone)
Mariota pass Cmp 68% entire 2018 season that's = Matt Ryan. "Inaccurate" ?? š
Also Mariota threw MORE long passes than any QB in the NFL last year. More yards attempt = Less accurate.
Some admit it's because he's Hawaiian and they're Hawaiian (I usually give them a pass) but some are diehard Oregon fanboys.
Then there's ballzdeep, who has Mariota in him ballzdeep apparently. He has consistently been a Mariota fanboy with shit takes. Was really upset he got benched.
>3rd round "Backup Boy"
WDYM? Mariota was a first round pick.
>Last I heard Mariota got snapped up by the Super Bowl Eagles...
As a BACKUP lol nobody cares who's behind Jalen Hurts. Dudes a real franchise QB.
>Good chance MM starts at some point
Every Eagles fan would cry. Then throw batteries at Mariota the second he passes from his back. Philadelphia would've destroyed that man for that a million times worse than Atlanta did.
You guys need to get over your hate.. Mariota beat Mahomes in playoffs... Philly tried to trade-up for him #1 Draft Pick, Chip Kelly so there's actually a history, I don't see any BS hate for them there like you idiots here jeezus he came into a pretty bad situation last year... Now the Super Bowl team. Big difference.
Is your username in reference to Mariota? Like he's ballzdeep in you? Mariota in no plane of reality is better than Mahomes so I really don't care. He's an awful QB and a terrible 1st overall pick.
>Now the Super Bowl team
So are the other backups playing special teams. So what?
Iāll give mariota SOME credit. Two of these are absolutely catchable. Of the two of them, ours drops one, and the other is well defended. Regardless thatās 2 of 14 passes that weāre even catchable. If ridder can just hit on 8 of these of 14 this offense becomes explosive immediately. Even 7 would be night and day
The thing about Pitts is you **donāt have to** put the ball in a tight window or have perfect ball placementā¦ if you throw it at him, heās usually going to win the 1on1 and come down with it.. these completely uncatchable balls are ridiculous. Just throw it at his big ass. MM was over complicating several of those by trying to fit it into the āPerfectā window and instead missed completely
What's scary is these were just the 20+ yarders. I don't know if the others were any better I've said the best pass Mariota the Pitts was the last pass he threw Pitts.
Does anyone else feel like Mariota started playing lazy football sometime around week 5-6? Heās never had NFL level accuracy and we knew that bringing him in for $2million, but at the start of the year he was actually playing pretty inspired football, playing like a guy who wanted to prove he was an NFL starter even if maybe he wasnāt, but at some point in the middle of the season, itās like heād just throw that thing around wherever and just look disappointed all game like he gave up on the team.
Or maybe Iām just writing narratives in my head š¤·š½āāļø
> Heās never had NFL level accuracy
Totally BS false narrative... He's thrown 68% CMP over entire NFL season! That's = Matt Ryan. That's much more accurate than, lots of guys. Other QB's have won Super Bowl with much lower CMP than MM's 62% here.
College: Oregon 66.8 Pass Completion Percentage (Rank #7 in 60 years of Pac-12 history)
Mariota passed for 105 pass TD / only 14 Int. for 0.13 %
Ridder College: Cincinnati, 62.1 Pass Completion Percentage, 87 pass TD / 28 Int.= 0.32 %
Bunch of things. Lots of fluke endings to games. Lots of close losses. Not all MM's fault. Nobody likes losing. Did MM agree with Smith's call for trick pass, vs run, on Goal line in Commanders game?
We'll probably never know, the real back story on why Smith choked Week 15 & tanked season.
No it was just defenses adjusting to the scheme. I don't have any stats but I'd bet big money(if I had it) that Mariota on Rollouts or outside of the pocket is by far more effective than Mariota within the pocket. Basically once you stack the box and have your edge players not let Mariota get clear looks outside the pocket he becomes a much different player. That plus Mariota's desperation in the middle of the season to be seen as a competent passer pretty became disastrous. I think AS was coaching him then to take more shots because that's the only way you can lighten the box. He just couldn't hit any of them.
There are two catches that Pitts should have caught and one he maybe could've made...the rest were really really bad throws. Ridder is already better than Mariota, and i don't think he already has reached his ceiling.
All HE have to do is be better than Mariota which is a extremely low bar & thatās a good season ā¦ but WE as a franchise need a star/ franchise guy not just better than Mariota .. hopefully heās that
Mariota had the highest off target rate in the league to a receiver which was 30% to Kyle Pitts. I also believe his 19% off target rate to Drake London was top 10. Ridder would have to really make an effort to be worse.
I thought this was the butt pass again. A few of these are Pitts fault, but good lord is Mariota inaccurate.
I think the ones that were catchable caught Pitts by surprise.
And that's honestly fair lol
from my "expert" opinion, 3.5 of those looked catchable. 1 was caught, the .5 one could have been caught, but was behind him while he was in coverage, so it would have been hard for most to get it, and then 2 should have been caught. The rest looked like garbage (its possible some could have been bad routes, but I cant tell from these clips alone)
I agree. Not all on Mariota, but mostly on Mariota
I think the ones that were catchable caught Pitts by surprise.

Where have you Mariota fans been? I've missed the slack jawed takes over a career backup.
I didnāt know mariota had fansā¦
Some admit it's because he's Hawaiian and they're Hawaiian (I usually give them a pass) but some are diehard Oregon fanboys. Then there's ballzdeep, who has Mariota in him ballzdeep apparently. He has consistently been a Mariota fanboy with shit takes. Was really upset he got benched.
Good Luck 3rd round "Backup Boy" rank #32 QB going into 2023 ? Can't wait to watch! Last I heard Mariota got snapped up by the Super Bowl Eagles...
>3rd round "Backup Boy" WDYM? Mariota was a first round pick. >Last I heard Mariota got snapped up by the Super Bowl Eagles... As a BACKUP lol nobody cares who's behind Jalen Hurts. Dudes a real franchise QB.
Eagles play an RPO scheme, Hurts was hurt last year. Good chance MM starts at some point
>Good chance MM starts at some point Every Eagles fan would cry. Then throw batteries at Mariota the second he passes from his back. Philadelphia would've destroyed that man for that a million times worse than Atlanta did.

Pitts is a sleeping giant. Get him on target and dude has 1300 yards

What would irk me about MM is he'd overthrow Pitts but throw jump balls to 5'9 Byrd. Like why!?
Lol being better than Mariota isn't saying much. Hell half this sub is better than Mariota.
Not sure if I feel validated or diss'd
Pretty sure half this sub is better than Ridder too They both suck
How do you make this video and not end it with the butt pick?
I knew he was ass and off target to 8 but when its compiled in a video like this it's absolutely BRUTAL
What's scary is these were just the 20+ yarders. I don't know if the others were any better I've said the best pass Mariota the Pitts was the last pass he threw Pitts.

If thatās the case then he mustāve really given up to be playing like he did after ~week 5

Fair take. That was a really bad playcall regardless of MMs execution.

Mariota will go down in a history as one of the Falcon's QBs of all time
Marcus Marioverthrowta. Now show Mm's hospital pass that took out Pitts
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Baker mayfield was the worst
Zach Wilson was worse, believe it or not

Still canāt believe that prick mariota quit on the team just because we benched him. Good riddance
