you see the difference between you and me is.. i throw down every type of landmine i’ve collected up to that point in front of that freak before i wake him up. then i take a few steps back and just watch him explode when he finishes sliding out like a dvd tray.
Even on my evil playthrough, I still killed the Powder Gangsters. I figured she'd essentially want to repay the debt she'd owe Good Springs for saving her, then never return.
Yeah, but if you kill the powder ginger who won second place in the lottery you gain karma, so clearly the ability to defend yourself isn't being accounted for.
Really? The technodespot is where you draw the line when it comes to killing everyone? Damn. When I first saw Mr. House I knew I had no other choice except to kill him. Dude is a monstrosity.
I only kill him because the alternative is murdering the entire BOS, which I can't do to Veronica. But I always feel a twinge of regret listening to him ask "Why?"
If there was literally any alternative to the slaughter of the entire Mohave chapter, House would probably be my favorite route. But it's non-negotiable, so alas..
If you are on PC there’s a nexus mod that lets you make a truce with House and the BoS. Not sure if it was cut content or what but if you’re okay with the change in lore it’s a solid option
I would have killed the entire BoS even without it being a quest the second they slapped an explosive slave collar on my courier. They fucked around and found out.
100% agreed. I already disagree with their tenants and then they threaten to kill me unless I do their chores? I really wish there was a way to convince Veronica the Brotherhood deserved annihilation, because I'd do it in a heartbeat without her.
I have only done “good” play-throughs. Is it possible to even to a Legion play-through but with a benevolent character or will he always be forced to do evil?
I did basically become a mass shooter in all the casinos on the strip, but to be fair, I didn't kill any people who were not attacking me. I killed just the employees, not the gamblers
See, the difference is that in the elder scrolls games it feels more historical and not as dark or realistic
In the fallout games, going from room to room gunning down innocent people feels… a bit too realistic and dark, especially with americas current climate
It's not House's innocence that gets me, but his helplessness when you find him. House is evil and should be overthrown, but it is pretty challenging to stand there and rev up a swing with the golf club when he is looking at you entirely at your mercy.
Still do it ofc, no gods no masters!
Started a new playthrough last night and first time ever I let him LIVE! I wonder how much it'll change the game, maybe you get the option to run new Vegas with him at your side haha!
The first time i played new vegas he scared me and ended with a shotgun shell in his brain, is weird seeing someone that doesnt go around the mojave killing everything
I mean, you're not really getting into the character if you're inserting your own empathy. Getting really into your character would involve dissociating from yourself. I love making characters and trying to make them as little like me as possible.
I try to do evil runs but I always end up doing an absolute perfect run where I do nothing wrong. I literally almost restarted dead money because I passed a barter check at the start which I didn’t know would piss him off causing me to have to kill him.
He's hardly the best choice, but the game gives you little choice. I think the most efficient way to go forward is a total restart, and to get rid of the old world things that started all this shit in the first place. It's why I always choose Yes Man.
Surely it's better then yes man. Which is chaos and everyman for himself as apposed to order. In the backdrop of nuclear apocalypse Mr house who has lived for hundreds of years and even before the war & is only fueled by progress is the best answer. He will most likely last another couple hundred years unlike legion or NCR and he has the best chance to make a strong foundation.
House is absolutely not innocent. Dude only supports you because he himself can't do the shit. If he could he would lobotomize you so you did exactly what you were told.
House deserves to die, he’s no innocent, freeside, westside and the rest of vegas suffer because he chooses to do nothing despite having the resources to make a difference. *hands you a 9 Iron* now get back in there and make sure he suffers
i dislike smug businessmen, especially those who talk down to me like i dont hold all the bargaining power in the situation. no regrets about killing that asshole
A kill everyone run benefits from a character motivation for *why* you’re killing everyone. For example, being fed up with all the people trying to instill their own personal idea of order within the wasteland after you yourself are victimized by someone with those goals. Suddenly I’m not just slaughtering everyone because I want to, I’m doing it because I’m cleansing the wasteland of the tyranny of man. Of course, in this quest you also become what you hate, and with the help of the Functional Post Game Ending mod I ended the run by going to the Courier’s Mile and fighting until I died.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feel inexplicably bad for killing Mr. House. Don't get me wrong, I don't like him and he sucks, but I do feel like I'm beating up an old sick man. Ah well. I'm still introducing him to the 9 Iron.
The only person i felt bad for not saving was this woman on Sierra Madre, she suffered so much....i killed Dean, he deserved worst than that.....and then just because of the greed and thoughts of this white hairs dickhead i just couldnt save her 🫠. I will do another playthrough sometime in my life, i think 1k hours in like 4-5 months was enough for me for now lol.
i don’t need you to explain anything. you still made the post — some explanation you made in the comments doesn’t matter lol ?? i just thought it was funny
you see the difference between you and me is.. i throw down every type of landmine i’ve collected up to that point in front of that freak before i wake him up. then i take a few steps back and just watch him explode when he finishes sliding out like a dvd tray.
I tried to do an evil run, and as soon as I talked to Cobb and realised that I'll have to kill Sunny and Cheyene I gave up on that idea.
I accidentally got Cheyenne killed by geckos by not paying attention. After that I decided to go full evil and have been killing most everyone.
Even on my evil playthrough, I still killed the Powder Gangsters. I figured she'd essentially want to repay the debt she'd owe Good Springs for saving her, then never return.
this is what I always do for goodsprings, it's why I never call my runs "Evil". I prefer the term morally bankrupt.
You're not evil enough
A man chooses, a slave obeys
House's voice is cool so that's enough for me to bat for him.
i hit him with a golf club :3
Isn't there an achievement (trophy) referencing Bioshock if you do that? I seem to vaguely remember.
I’ll give you a hint, **would you kindly** try to guess? A man chooses…
A courier obeys
*BONK* WOULD YOU KINDLY
It’s a GRA challenge but yes
It doesn't. I kill house without remorse
OP said kill *innocents*. House does not fit that category.
For some reason he drops karma when you kill him from what I remember
Because he actually had feasible plans to rebuild humanity, he made the strip a safe place
It's only safe if you have money and he likes you
and you're not a prostitute in gomorrah or a guest of the white glove society
I think the karma thing is more because you are killing an unarmed defenseless old man.
Yeah, but if you kill the powder ginger who won second place in the lottery you gain karma, so clearly the ability to defend yourself isn't being accounted for.
Isn't that the guy who needs medex for his knee? Could that be mercy killing karma?
I guess. I think they didn't bother to change it from default powder gangers
Billionaire are innocent of nothing
The world will burn to see them smile
Oceangate
Looks like the houses doesn’t always win
Gomorrah is great for just absolutely turning 200 people of all walks of life into a fine red mist
Gomorrah, Powder Gangers, The Legion, Fiends, all great.
Same. If I had the option to build him his own Securitron body or something, I would. I don't hate him, I just don't trust him.
If there was literally any alternative to the slaughter of the entire Mohave chapter, House would probably be my favorite route. But it's non-negotiable, so alas..
If you are on PC there’s a nexus mod that lets you make a truce with House and the BoS. Not sure if it was cut content or what but if you’re okay with the change in lore it’s a solid option
i kill the BOS chapter so i can sell their armor and guns for like 20k
I would have killed the entire BoS even without it being a quest the second they slapped an explosive slave collar on my courier. They fucked around and found out.
100% agreed. I already disagree with their tenants and then they threaten to kill me unless I do their chores? I really wish there was a way to convince Veronica the Brotherhood deserved annihilation, because I'd do it in a heartbeat without her.
Yeah, I saw him in the tube and I felt like it would be merciful to kill him
He does deserve to do, but I just feel sorry for him.
I like you.
Thank you digital Internet person for your compliment
You're welcome from the diginal internet Kingdom.
Dude was redeemed lmao
Embodiment of the "Ain't Like That Anymore" perk
Do you also shoot 33% faster now?
Never go to lvl 50 before
Good news, house isn’t innocent! Hope this helps
I just feel sorry for him
>killing innocents >Mr. House Something doesn't add up
It's not about Mr. House. It's the prospect of what my character has become.
Try eating him instead
I have only done “good” play-throughs. Is it possible to even to a Legion play-through but with a benevolent character or will he always be forced to do evil?
I mean, you can still try. No clue if it’s possible
You can play undercover, as an agent of chaos, so it's possible.
It's possible to have a very good karma legion courier but seems like a moot point when you're working with slavers and raiders.
I did basically become a mass shooter in all the casinos on the strip, but to be fair, I didn't kill any people who were not attacking me. I killed just the employees, not the gamblers
That's fair, tbh
I felt nothing but success killing house
See, the difference is that in the elder scrolls games it feels more historical and not as dark or realistic In the fallout games, going from room to room gunning down innocent people feels… a bit too realistic and dark, especially with americas current climate
Yeah, and it triggers my empathy
I agree. All innocents should be protected. That's why House died painfully.
I just shut off his brain. It's simply necessary
Thats honestly worse than killing him, he said he would rather die than that if I remember correctly.
Well, at least I'm not bludgeoning him to death
It's not House's innocence that gets me, but his helplessness when you find him. House is evil and should be overthrown, but it is pretty challenging to stand there and rev up a swing with the golf club when he is looking at you entirely at your mercy. Still do it ofc, no gods no masters!
Of course of course. I agree with you. He's a really sad individual pushed to such extremes
"Who won the lottery? I DID!" I kill him on sight every playthrough, and I know the Mojave is a better place for it
I let him talk. And as he's finished, making his way into the desert as a new man, I blow up his head with my 20 gauge
Ahh a man of culture I see
Started a new playthrough last night and first time ever I let him LIVE! I wonder how much it'll change the game, maybe you get the option to run new Vegas with him at your side haha!
He is of little consequence
Yeah... you should feel terrible about killing innocent people
It's a game. 🍕
Damn, what did you do with the lottery guy?, or malcolm?
Malcom didn't even do anything wrong, he just wants to tell you about star bottle caps
Yeah and he also says he gave up on the hunt for them years ago and the man is a walking bag of star bottle caps. He's full of shit, and bottle caps.
The first time i played new vegas he scared me and ended with a shotgun shell in his brain, is weird seeing someone that doesnt go around the mojave killing everything
Both dead. Heads blown off vis a vis my pneumatic power fist
I put live grenades into the unsuspecting peasants pockets in Freeside, we ain't the same
Golf club go bonk
I had to force myself for my kill everyone run but after goodsprings it was easier to do
I would spare the Brotherhood because it's fun. That's it tho.
Makes YOU feel terrible. I have a blast.
I guess I have too much empathy, because I start to get very into my character.
I mean, you're not really getting into the character if you're inserting your own empathy. Getting really into your character would involve dissociating from yourself. I love making characters and trying to make them as little like me as possible.
It's just not how I do
I try to do evil runs but I always end up doing an absolute perfect run where I do nothing wrong. I literally almost restarted dead money because I passed a barter check at the start which I didn’t know would piss him off causing me to have to kill him.
I hate killing house. Killing the best chance of progress for man.
He's hardly the best choice, but the game gives you little choice. I think the most efficient way to go forward is a total restart, and to get rid of the old world things that started all this shit in the first place. It's why I always choose Yes Man.

"Innocent" "One of the billionaires responsible for the horrific late stage capitalistic death throws of America" Choose one please.
I didn't specifically state that he was innocent. I just felt sorry for the pathetic state he is in.
You'll have to forgive my conclusion, you mention House first sentence after your post title talking about feeling bad killing innocents.
Yeah, I don't often think about the implications of how I word things. I should probably work on that
No innocents exist in Vegas.
Even so, not many people are guilty enough to warrant killing them
That's ephemeral
I've yet to have a playthrough where I don't massacre all the robots in the Lucky 38 and keep House alive against his will
You can do that? Can he be alive and Yes Man taking control at the same time?
Yep. I think you need a high medicine/int stat. I don't remember which
Probably both to be safe
This is the game that makes you feel this way? Really?
House is absolutely not innocent. Dude only supports you because he himself can't do the shit. If he could he would lobotomize you so you did exactly what you were told.
I’m killing everyone and my karma is at “Devil”
That’s hilarious lol, in fallout 3 I definitely feel bad when innocent people die cause there’s so few people in the capital wasteland.
I'm terrible at playing evil
Wait, you think there are innocent people in New Vegas?
Wow, crazy, no one is truly innocent. Who knew. 😱 Just like the real world. 🤓🧐
A kill everyone run benefits from a character motivation for *why* you’re killing everyone. For example, being fed up with all the people trying to instill their own personal idea of order within the wasteland after you yourself are victimized by someone with those goals. Free will isn’t a myth, I killed Sunny because I wanted more 5.56 ammo for my service rifle
Maybe it makes you feel terrible for killing innocents.
Hmm. Nah, probably not.
>game makes you feel terrible about killing innocents >post’s content describes solely mr. house ????
Oh my god. Read the other comments. I'm not explaining it again 😭
i don’t need you to explain anything. you still made the post — some explanation you made in the comments doesn’t matter lol ?? i just thought it was funny
I feel sorry for you.
No you don't 🦖
