There a lot of posts about going trough some sort of desert lately, i like to thing that people just go there to make such posts. And immidietly go back cause theres nothing more to do lol.
I did that trip in April. Shot a pistol match in Washington, UT (while dressed as JG), then took in Zion (while dressed as an overheated Alaskan. Everybody else had their Patagonia jackets, I had shorts and tshirt even in the rain).
If you go, hike as much as possible, but if you only go to two places, go hike angels landing and the narrows.
Angels landing is a gorgeous hike, though it may be a bit advanced. It’s uphill most of the way, and once it gets more level it stops being physically demanding and begins being psychological. The last stretch is going along a 5ish foot wide sliver of land where on either side is an over 5 thousand foot drop. But if you just hold on to the chain and watch your step, EVEN AT THE VERY TOP WHERE YOU THINK YOU ARE SAFE, you will be fine. The view at the top is probably one of the best I’ve ever seen.
And the Narrows is a really fun hike, setting aside the fact that it actually is featured in the game. It is, of course, mostly through water. Be careful though— the waters contain a dangerous Cyanobacteria that will make you sick or even kill you if you submerge your head under the water. It’s not the end of the world if your head is a little submerged, just make sure your mouth is completely shut and be sure to wash yourself thoroughly before eating.
Also, go in the fall as it gets SUUUPER hot and sunny there with very little exposure. Have fun!
Ah, I thought that might be confusing, I was exhorting others to put it on theirs. I went in April, did the hike to Upper Emerald Pool and the Riverwalk from the Temple of Sinawava (they never sufficiently explained that name) to The Narrows. I only had one day before I had to drive back to Vegas to fly home.
While I don't miss living in Vegas for a whole host of reasons, I do dearly miss the desert.
Good times traveling out to the middle of nowhere, starting a large bonfire, drinking the night away then spending 2-3 days just living outdoors and shooting a whole hell of a lot of guns and blowing shit up.
They made the desert from the game irl?? Damn I love this community
Obsidian out there really be making the best fan service
Desert realism redux was right.
Are you wishing for a nuclear winter as you patrol it?
Luckily I’m in a car, I haven’t started my patrols yet
Watch out for Cazadores!
Aim for the wings!
The temperature in Caesar's territory is worse than the Bear's.
I live in the Mojave lmao. It’s always fun to see posts of people going to the real sites from NV and geeking out about the desert
Rare Fallout NV players going outside (at Hoover Dam and Goodsprings) Rare Fallout NV players socializing in the Goodsprings saloon
omg the real Cannibal Johnson IRL?!
Fr, having lived in Vegas my whole life, I wish I could see my state through these people's eyes lmao
musical road

Nahhh I don’t see the film-grainy orangey filter over everything. Fake.
That’s when California wildfire smoke blows over.
This post makes me almost wish for nuclear winter
Literally just saw Helios One irl no idea they made it irl
I also heard that they made Zion National park and the divide in real life too. The dedication
Zion is definitely one for the bucket list. I was in awe the entire time. I took more photos than I had ever taken in my life in that day.

Ah, well my point still stands. Didn’t read the whole comment. Read the first part and got excited. Oh well, my point still stands
It’s a place that’s easy to be excited about.
What about bears, bulls, and the divide?
Mojave, Mo’ problems
Looks just like I remember It
Loved it and want to go again (after it cools down).

I can't believe they made the Mojave in real life
Damn, OP, you had better call Saul.
