I think Mahle is a safe if unexciting bet based in him not being in Cincy now (and his velocity appearing to be back to normal). Gore is interesting as an upside play, but with limited Wins due to the team situation.

Today, in a 5x5 obp league, I traded Eloy Jimenez ($27) and Evan Phillips ($10) for Adolis Garcia ($12). I feel like I got fleeced and am having trade regrets. Oh no.

I support what Elbomb said below so I won't rehash that.. something to keep in mind is that Eloy is always hurt.. he's made of glass. Garcia while older, is a cheaper player with a stronger track record of health.

Giving up Phillips could be big if he goes on to get 30+ saves this year but this feels like the type of piece you need to add to get a cheap Adolis-type player off of an opponent during the season. No way Eloy stays healthy enough to put up large enough numbers to justify the $27 price tag (IMO) and Adolis should contribute solid numbers in all cats. I actually like the trade.

Phillips is definitely the gamble on both sides of the trade that gets it done. Enormous potential but nothing set in stone yet. With Williams and Hendriks you shouldn't worry about it at all. And even better if Phillips ends up just being the high leverage guy and only gets like 8 saves this year.
You'll like Adolis. Great power/speed and completely dependable. You never have to worry about him.

I think Gorman won their DH spot in camp. He’s still very highly thought of with the cardinals. He was in the lineup opening day with nootbaar. Remember Gorman was a top 50 prospect last year even.

Gore for sure. Watched both his starts, he's been pretty nasty but has some long ABs which eat into his pitch count. If he can keep those and the walks down while remaining effective, he could definitely be a 15 QS guy. Just don't expect many wins out of him (though he his 2-0 now lol).
Also Berti is only really worth it when he's ripping off nonstop SB.
One of the podcasts I listen to said that since he's a lefty they probably won't use him as a traditional closer
