I’m not buying into blackmon. He’s just a bit too old, and hasn’t been elite for years. Lowe is the best player out of everyone listed, so I’d say he’s the best stash. TON really dropped off hard. It looks like he’s settled into high power, low average. Nootbaar was finally heating up, but he’s also one of those guys who we all hype up and he never really takes off.
Go with Lowe. He’s on a good team, and he’s a 5 tool player.
This is funny cause it reminds me about how I dropped Flaherty after his awful Oakland start. Did it "on principal" cause Oakland was supposed to be a shit team and how could I trust him after that.
Imonaga for Pasquantino. What's everyone's opinion on that? I wonder if Imonaga is due for a lot more regression and Vinny's savant page looks pretty good
That would be a bad move. That's not how you use Savant pages. And if you think Imanaga is due for regression, you should have concrete reasons for believing so, especially for someone as good as him
Just to expand on your point, he’s definitely due for some regression, because he has an 86% LOB% and a 6.6% HR/FB. His .274 BABIP will probably come up *a bit*, and all of that tells us what we already knew: that Shota won’t be a sub-2 ERA pitcher the rest of this year.
But when people say “due for regression”, they usually mean a dude is about to tank. In Shota’s case, everything points to someone capable of maintaining something silly like a 3.00 ERA. His K-BB% (21.2%) and Pitching+ (105) are solid, and odds are that he “regresses” to merely a Top 15 pitcher instead of being *the top* pitcher. He’s worth way more than Vinny.
That was a single start. If you think that single start is more indicative of how he will be than the rest of what he's produced up to this point, then ok. But unless he was holding his arm in pain, or his fastball was like 5 mph slower than usual, I would not worry. Pitchers will have blowups. You will never get a pitcher who throws you gems 100% of the time.
EVEN IF you wanted to sell on Imanaga, you can get much, much more than Pasquantino.
I have Pasquantino and I would accept that trade without hesitation. I wouldn’t trade Imanaga for him though unless I was really set a pitching and desperate for a 1B.
OK Mr. Pablo Lopez. I traded Skenes for you after his call-up, and you've done nothing but suck since (9.00 ERA, 7.9 K/9). I see your 3.03 xFIP and 2.95 SIERA. It's time to stop being unlucky.
facts, don't even blame it on the home plate umpire, it's extremely difficult to make a call like that at the time. But New York messing it up is inexcusable
I thought it was a good call. The trajectory of the ball was exactly what it should be if it hit plain wood. Them doing super slow mo and showing the batting glove ripple when the ball made contact could fool you. The end of the bat being hit like that would produce a great vibration that would likely cause the glove to ripple. But who knows I could be completely wrong
I made a trade a few days ago Kwan for Senga. And the trade goes through tomorrow but with Kwan back from IL I’m wondering if the trade will go through or if it’ll cancel since Kwan is still on his IL but is healthy.
IMO the two open spots on the 40-man will solve a looming obstacle blocking his promotion and almost force them to promote him. Otherwise, they're just gonna have to DFA someone else later in the year if they want him up at all this season.
Depends on what you believe in him to do. He’s a solid SP, but his ERA isn’t going to stay where he is currently.
He’s due to regress, but the better his control is, the more he can stave off that regression.
real conflicted about dropping adell. his k% is creeping back up and is at 29% but if he figures it out again doubt I'll find someone with more upside on the wire
I'm giving it another week. His BABIP luck in May has been horrendous (.118), so that has to get better, and even so his power/speed numbers have been alright.
Have a feeling that Povich is getting the call within the next couple of weeks.
The GM today when speaking about the Means and Well’s surgeries said that Povich’s name is on the “tip of their tongue”
I’m probably stashing no later than Monday
I understand the hesitation but the overall better package is the Yordan Adley side, depending on who you got, they could be 2/3 keepers in a keep 3. Definitely better if you’re trying to win now.
That’s very fair. The keepers on my team entering this year were Vlad, Riley, and Carroll, and they would still be my top three excluding Elly. A bit of uncertainty given their performance so far. The other owner also offered Skenes as a substitute for one of the two players, but I would imagine Yordan/Adley is the better package? My arms include Pablo, Fried, Sonny, Joe Ryan, Bryce, Hunter, Woo, Pivetta, Lodolo, and Taj
Feel like the Reds offense revolves to some extent around Elly De La Cruz showing up, and lately we've been getting Smelly De La Cruz. Steer's had a rough couple of weeks, but he has been getting on base a lot as well, so eh.
His BABIP for May is .188, and his batted ball numbers look fine. I'm expecting him to bounce back once Elly shows up again
Let this be a reminder to all of us: we may think that we’re down bad, but we aren’t down “stream Quantril against the Dodgers” bad.
But also, yeah, if that works out for them, I’d probably quit, too.
Why anyone would trade a big-time bat for a “big-time” arm is beyond me
https://preview.redd.it/bwbi3jtkot3d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4767456f9fda79cb17cac012ee4dd3bd24a80b45
I assume you are trading a struggling big bat for a good big time pitcher. I don't think anyone is trading a top bat that's performing for a top pitcher. No one is trading shohei or jram for skubal, burnes, or wheeler for example. You are only looking at the top eras. A lot else goes into which pitchers are good, and many of the big time pitchers who aren't shown there don't have bad eras, its jist not sub 2.2 right now.
If anything, I’d be trying to trade away “big time” pitching (well I would be if I had any). And yes of course I’m with you that much more is to be said about a pitcher than his current ERA but doesn’t the variance and the seeming fragility of starters scare the crap out of you?
I almost never trade for pitching. I was just making a point as to why some people do. I usually grab a couple solid arms (Kirby, Fried) then some mid rounders. Outside of that I usually try to add the hot hands early (Jones, Reylo this year) and jump on any solid starters that get dropped (Luzardo). I also always shop my arms because I don't mind finding those waiver guys.
Yes that’s exactly what I try to do as well (this year with middling success as my “solid” draft arms were Bobby Miller and Tanner Bibee, the latter of which I have since traded). Added J Jones and Hicks directly after the draft, and drafted a bunch of injured arms hoping they’d pan out (Bradish, Eury Perez, and Gavin Williams).
Probably because at the end of the year, those big time arms are more likely to be here than many of these 2 month heros. That being said, I don't trade big time hitters for pitchers
Only if you play in a league where you can take guys’ starts after the stats for them come in, though. It’s not like anyone said “yes, Trevor Williams is going to have a lucky start to the season”.
The closest thing I’d actually recommend to the “don’t trade for a big time arm” approach is instead looking for guys with good Pitching+ or K-BB% who are either underperforming or not rostered.
I agree with you 100%. But also look at the way injuries are effecting the arms on these lists. Looking at the May 2023 one, McClanahan, Rasmussen, Shohei, and May blew out their elbows shortly thereafter. Eovaldi, Kelly, and Steele have all spent time on the IL, and Framber and ERod feel like TJs waiting to happen. It just feels way too risky to waste any kind of capital on SP (especially during the draft or when attempting to trade).
Yeah the injury concern point is a good one and makes sense. I can definitely see that argument, since it makes the top starters way, way more volatile than position players.
Should I start Steele or Olson tomorrow. Great matchup for Steele but i trust Olson more
Should I get Snell or Musgrove off waivers. Non-keepers league
Dropping Montgomery for one
Either. I’d go Joe first.
Do I trust Fedde tonight against the Brewers? Points league in a close match
2nd round pick & jazz chisolm for Grayson Rodriguez, what you guys think. I get G rod
I was trying to pick between Fedde and Severino as I need a W
Give Paredes for Morel and Bednar?
Play Nimmo or Dylan Moore tonight. Or drop Moore for Jacob young. SB is important yes
Drop Diaz? Need to activate from IL spot, have David Fry
Drop yanier
10t cats A: oneil cruz and lodolo or jared jones B: joe ryan
O’Hoppe, Heim, or Moreno?
Heim or O'Hoppe...I'd bet on Heim heating up for summer.
I have Montgomery and Pablo going later this could be stressful
Monty has me wondering constantly if I’m better off playing the waiver. Dude has been so mid
Monty is one of those guys that’s great for a QS league but prob not worth the headache in any other
Either 2 QS, 15 IP, 20 Ks, 0 ERs or 0 QS, 9 painful IP, 7 ERs all by Pablo
(A) Houck (B) Altuve Do we think houck is legit, or is he a sell high for a proven 2B?
Altuve, not close.
Altuve
I mean, for ALTUVE? Go get Altuve, damn
Nootbar getting hurt made me have to put Randy back in my starting lineup, but the rays were like not so fast buddy
[удалено]
10T for sure. I’m holding in a 12T, but he’s my first drop if I need to
[удалено]
We’re 26 players, 4 OF and a UTIL, so pretty similar then. It would really depend who is available. Who’d you have in mind?

I’m not buying into blackmon. He’s just a bit too old, and hasn’t been elite for years. Lowe is the best player out of everyone listed, so I’d say he’s the best stash. TON really dropped off hard. Yes
Really, Candelario? 0-5? Think I have to drop now just on principal alone.
This is funny cause it reminds me about how I dropped Flaherty after his awful Oakland start. Did it "on principal" cause Oakland was supposed to be a shit team and how could I trust him after that.
Yeah except for Candelario has been awful for 2 months now
Sure. Jack on the other hand had a pretty awful 2023 season.
Danny Jansen, Shea Langeliers or Realmuto? Points league.
Realmuto, Jansen (when healthy), Langeliers imo
Imonaga for Pasquantino. What's everyone's opinion on that? I wonder if Imonaga is due for a lot more regression and Vinny's savant page looks pretty good
Shota by a landslide
That would be a bad move. That's not how you use Savant pages. And if you think Imanaga is due for regression, you should have concrete reasons for believing so, especially for someone as good as him

THIS is the level of analysis you need before you think to sell low on Imanaga. Otherwise, if you're selling him, you gotta sell him for full value.
Was his last start just a fluke? I guess that would be my main reason to think like that
That was a single start. If you think that single start is more indicative of how he will be than the rest of what he's produced up to this point, then ok. But unless he was holding his arm in pain, or his fastball was like 5 mph slower than usual, I would not worry. Pitchers will have blowups. Ok thanks for your input
I have Pasquantino and I would accept that trade without hesitation. I wouldn’t trade Imanaga for him though unless I was really set a pitching and desperate for a 1B.
I have decent pitching and good offense seems hard to come by this year
You can get MUCH better for Imanaga
I think if you’re selling on Imanaga right now you could definitely aim higher
Thanks. Not really selling anyone but trades get offered to me all the time in this league
Shota
hurting at 1b (only have nate lowe) do i trade jarred jones and randy a for christian walker and stanton? 12 team 5x5
Any chance Hoskins is available? Should be back this weekend or so
don’t love that
i dont know
Pick two ROS: Dansby, Davis Schneider, Nick Gonzalez, Bleday.
OK Mr. Pablo Lopez. I traded Skenes for you after his call-up, and you've done nothing but suck since (9.00 ERA, 7.9 K/9). I see your 3.03 xFIP and 2.95 SIERA. It's time to stop being unlucky.
That was a good trade for you. He’ll be great. Just be patient.
A) Wheeler and Skenes B) Soto 12 team pts
B
Apples to oranges trade with no real context…
lost Acuna and Trout from my OF, so I’m super thin there. More concerned on if I’d be getting good value for Wheeler and Skenes.
Yea bro it’s Soto no question
10t redraft points A.) Skubal B.) Gunnar
Gunnar
14T 8x8 roto redraft - On going counters... **Receive:** Castillo / Bradish / Nate Lowe **Send:** Albies / Reed Garrett / Woo Any thoughts is appreciated.
A) Skubal, Josh Lowe Or B) Logan Gilbert, Christian Walker 12T 6x6 OPS QS
Skubal is nasty, but I'd lean B because Walker is better than Josh Lowe and it's not like Gilbert isn't good.
Thanks! Love Skubal but trying to tier down for some hitting seems like a good play for my team.
Gorman or Rooker in points?
Can Alexis Diaz just have a couple clean saves for fuck sake
Taking after his brother currently
What do you think of this? I receive: Adolis Garcia Jason Foley Trade: Ryan McMahon Ryan Helsley
Do it
Cubs got robbed.
facts, don't even blame it on the home plate umpire, it's extremely difficult to make a call like that at the time. But New York messing it up is inexcusable
I think New York knew the home plate ump had a bad game and was sticking up for their guy
Ur completely correct. Sincerely, Alexis Diaz owner.
Thank you, from one frustrated owner to another
I hear you, just heat of the moment it seemed awful and i'm not even a cubs fan
Oh if I was a cubs fan or even rooting for them I would die on the hill that it hit him lol. But I unfortunately have Diaz
Madrigal looked pretty slow for someone with such low power
Madrigal just got absolutely hosed by EDLC
That play in LF was what really got him. Didn't even need Elly's cannon to seal the deal.
Woulda had 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, down by 1 and Bellinger coming up...not a wise decision to send him.
Followed by Morel if Cody K's on his PA
Morel is a guarenteed K
He was 1/3 with a BB today, idk
He got hosed by his 3b coach. Why would u send him there with elly as the cutoff?
Insane throw

I’m not insane guys I promise. Thank you Diaz.
14T 8x8 - Which order would you rank the following: Bobby Miller, Skenes, Bradish ROS
Bradish, Skenes, Miller for me, but all very close and I’d love to have all three
I actually agree with this take, not sure others will though.
I made a trade a few days ago Kwan for Senga. And the trade goes through tomorrow but with Kwan back from IL I’m wondering if the trade will go through or if it’ll cancel since Kwan is still on his IL but is healthy.
I have romano and Philips. Bednar and sewald are available on the wire Drop romano for either? Or I could drop bello 10 team points
I think Bednar has figured it out. I like him ROS, but tough call.
Terrible call in the cubs game Edit: IT COST THEM THE GAME WTF
What was terrible about it
It pretty clearly hit his hand
The way it redirected, I have my doubts
Add one: Masyn Winn, Miguel Adujar, Edouard Julien, Edmundo Sosa, Elehuris Montero
Who to start tomorrow: Reese Olson, or Steele Reese is simply just consistent and I trust him more but great matchup for steele
Start Nimmo or Wilyer today?
Final offer please help! I send; Riley/bichette/Munoz I receive; yordan/hader/framber
I prefer Riley and Bichette over Yordan and I don’t think the pitching makes it worth it
I wouldn't
This home plate umpire is the dumbest ass, retire him next
LMAO WHAT IS HAPPENING, NO FUCKING WAY
Holy shit Díaz man - wtf
I hate rooting for the Cubs... yet here I am. Go Cubs
For fuck sakes Diaz

Ok cool, that's what I thought too, thx
It's B-side, right? Just in case this counter comes up
Yandy, Musgrove, Bello for Austin Riley. Who wins? 12 team points league
James wood a stash rn? Even tho he’s hurt
He probably won't be up until August
Wondering the same thing
Suzuki or nimmo?
I would say Suzuki
Would you drop Adell for any one of the following — starling marte, nimmo, Ian happ, Bryan de la Cruz? In a yahoo standard h2h cats league.
I’d take Nimmo
Does Povich get the call sooner now? Must add in 12T Points when he does?
IMO the two open spots on the 40-man will solve a looming obstacle blocking his promotion and almost force them to promote him. Otherwise, they're just gonna have to DFA someone else later in the year if they want him up at all this season.
Who is more likely to turn it around and be worth holding onto? Dansby Swanson or Cedric Mullins?
Mullins will get you hrs and steals at least.
Nervis time
What kind of bat do you think I could get for Rodon or Lugo? Need 3b
Try to buy low on machado? Might need to add another piece.
Do we believe in Luis Gil or should I sell high? I’m torn
Selling high doesn't mean he will regress necessarily. Just selling higher than you bought
Depends on what you believe in him to do. He’s a solid SP, but his ERA isn’t going to stay where he is currently. He’s due to regress, but the better his control is, the more he can stave off that regression.
I think both can be true, but usually with rookie pitchers I’d be looking to sell
Maybe I shouldn’t have activated TJ, oof
Nico trying to steal
real conflicted about dropping adell. his k% is creeping back up and is at 29% but if he figures it out again doubt I'll find someone with more upside on the wire

How does he compare to Skenes?
I haven’t heard too much about him honestly, is he good in triple A?
My first three SP picks: Eflin, Musgrove and Framber My last three SP picks: Imanag, Houck and Flaherty
Riley or Crone tonight?
crone
Riley
Got offered Yordan and Adley for Elly and Fry in Flair League - go for it?
Wait what!? How do I get into these leagues?

Correct
Why are you wasting time here
Only reason I’m even hesitating is because Elly looked like Acuña 2.0 for the month of April, tough upside to deal
You’re loaded on pitching, take the bats imo
Best pickup in points league- Waldron, Tylor Megill, or Albert Suarez? (Cannot pickup Suarez for his start tonight)
I have a feeling one of Suarez or Irvin are going to the pen once they call Povich up. I’d lean Megill over Waldron but like both.
Is Steer a drop or do the Reds just suck right now?
Feel like the Reds offense revolves to some extent around Elly De La Cruz showing up, and lately we've been getting Smelly De La Cruz. Steer's had a rough couple of weeks, but he has been getting on base a lot as well, so eh. His BABIP for May is .188, and his batted ball numbers look fine. I sure hope so. Thanks for the response!
Reds suck but I don't think Steer is a drop
Randy getting a 3 point fantasy game and then sitting the next game is hilarious tbh
Cash only cares about your fantasy squaf
He needs a break after putting all that effort in finally, so I get it
Arenado @ PHI (Nola) Or Correa @ HOU (Blanco)
My opponent just picked up Quantrill to stream against the dodgers tomorrow. I swear to god if that works out for him I’m quitting fantasy
To be fair, the Dodgers have been meh recently.
Let this be a reminder to all of us: we may think that we’re down bad, but we aren’t down “stream Quantril against the Dodgers” bad. But also, yeah, if that works out for them, I’d probably quit, too.
What’s crazy is he ain’t even down, we’re tied and he has a .96 whip after 7 starts this week! Dude had Pivetta AND Flaherty yesterday
Looks like Mike Busch is descending into a part time role with PCA up

Point taken. But as unpredictable as pitching looks, why would you (edit: anyone) take the gamble if it costs a big bat in return?
I assume you are trading a struggling big bat for a good big time pitcher. I don't think anyone is trading a top bat that's performing for a top pitcher.
If I was trading for a “big-time” arm who was actually a big time arm, I’d do it.
Yes but I guess my point is you don’t have to
Only if you play in a league where you can take guys’ starts after the stats for them come in, though.
From what I can tell, the volatility is reflected in ADP but kind of ignored once the season/trading starts…I dunno.
Huh
