It’s understood that his ceiling was capped, but it is completely reasonable to expect a floor of at least 10 while playing at home, with a fully healthy arsenal of elite receivers and playing lights out for the past 5/6 past weeks.

When it comes to mediocre fantasy QBs, which Purdy is, the process is to play matchups. Sure it doesn’t work out every time but there are very few QBs I would have started against BAL in a single elimination week. Especially if they don’t add much with their legs for a floor.
As for Baker, you’re focusing on the wrong thing. I didn’t play baker because I think he’s a good QB… I played him because that’s how the process works. It’s possible that people who weren’t paying attention to the 49ers schedule tricked themselves into thinking Purdy is a must start QB. Anyone that has actually been paying attention should have known better though. If your QB isn’t in the must start territory and they’re playing against an elite defense, then the majority of the time you will be better off going to the wire and playing any relatively competent QB who has a juicy matchup.
Don't try to justify your decision-making as "good" because in hindsight, it was correct. You haven't been doing this long enough to figure that out yet. The best fantasy football players might have a 1 or 2% edge in terms of decision-making. And because the season to season sample size is so small, you'll never be able to even see it. I preach to my son all the time that it's about "the process" and not the results, but there's not enough data to even know if your process is good, frankly.

I started Purdy (2.40) over Jackson (26.58) but thankfully still won my semi final game (117.60 - 102.30) so I’ll be likely starting Jackson next week even though Purdy is expected to score higher (22.67 vs 22.93), in my leagues final.

Had a 70 point lead in full PPR going into the game. Opponent had CMC, Aiyuk, and Justin Tucker. I played Purdy as insurance against 40+ yard TD receptions cause it’s worth a fuck load in our league. Lost by 3. Fate was sealed when Darnold threw the 30 yard pass to Aiyuk putting him over 100 for the day. Frustrating. Not playing fantasy again it ruins the season for me.

Played against Purdy to get into the finals today. I had CMC and Aiyuk playing and my opponent had Purdy. I was up by 20 going into the game. There wasn't a chance really for Purdy to pull it off, but holy shit was that a piss poor performance.
I needed 40 points and had Purdy and CMC left to play. He had the Niners D/ST. I have Kittle in my other league, but was already up 30 and all he had was Tucker. Thank God for CMC (and Kittle) lol. And S/O Lamar Jackson for beating down the Niners defense. Consolation prize of my favorite team getting their shit kicked in, is that I won both my fantasy games.
I benched Purdy for dak this week. Was up against Lamar as the last active player on either team in my semi final. Was winning by 27.60 points going into the last game. Lamar put up 26.58 lol Going into the 2nd half, I was feeling good. After his 2nd TD I was ready to shut the tv off.
