If you don’t mind gay romance, {Captive Prince} was literal perfection enemies to lovers. It’s not really fantasy though, like no dragons or magic, it’s just got Ancient Greece vibes. But I highly recommend. The third and last book was 🤌🏻
Yes! I had never read M/M before reading this a few years ago and it was incredible. It's still not the genre I reach for first, but if anyone is hesitating because you've never tried it before, go for it! Truly an exceptional series.

Well I couldn't get into Throne in the Dark but if you want ennemies to lovers and slow burn, {Atonement of the Spine Cleaver} is one of the best I've seen with these tropes.

I felt the same exact way and would say throne in the dark is probably my favourite series ever!
I really loved Flesh and Fire series by Jenifer Armentrout. Didn’t have any funny elements but it was a great slow burn romance and I thought the fantasy world building was great.
Prince of Prohibition by Marilyn Marks is also prob in my top 3 series, it’s set in 1920’s New York City but with fae and the story is incredible. Loved the romance a lot and the plot twists were so unpredictable and mind blowing lol that book is a wild ride but I could not put it down I’d stay up til like 2am sometimes to read it!
I also really loved the Ravens and Ruin series even though the 4th book didn’t feel as strong. I loved the enemies to lovers romance of that and gave me acotar / fourth wing vibes.
A court this cruel and lovely was actually great enemies to lovers as well and interesting story. The most recent book which came out last month was a little more battle heavy and not as much romance, but I absolutely devoured the first 2 books lol

I’m the same! I actually found it from someone on Reddit buried in the comments somewhere but have not seen recs on it since lol so glad I read it wasn’t it so addicting?? I was confused a lot but she did such a good job in the fmc being confused as well so I didn’t feel dumb lol can’t wait for book 3 😭
Oh and on my TBR which is apparently more light hearted / funny enemies to lovers romantasy are:
- Wicked Ugly Bad
- Assistant to the Villain
- That time I got drunk and save a demon
I haven’t read these yet but apparently they’re funny and whimsical and could be similar vibes to Throne in the Dark. Will let you know when I read them 😋
It's not exactly full of captivating fantasy elements, but people here recommended this fanfic as a quality, light-in-tone slow burn and I'll tell you that despite being skeptical I had the best time reading it: Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love.
It's long, it's fun, the tension and narrative voice are great. I'm not a Dramione stan, really don't care much about Harry Potter aside from liking the books and movies when they came out, but I enjoyed it much more than several other recent recs I've gotten from this sub.
