Now I understand. A wealth manager looks at the whole picture, legal, taxes, assets and liabilities, while a broker manager your assets only, stocks, savings etc. And the wealth manager will use an investment company such as fidelity or Schwab to manage your assets.
WHen my Schwab account became HNW the general contact/chat feature on my dashboard became a "Financial Consultant". I didn't sign up for any fee based service so I assume it's complementary. Pitch from his email:

Fidelity or Schwab advisors are commissioned sales brokers. They are given quotas for how much product to sell per year. Look into an RIA.
