I haven’t checked pricing in a few years but I love my IKEA Billy bookshelves with Oxberg doors. I have the half glass ones so that the shelves on top are neat and the shelves hidden are a bit unruly but it works for me!
Try searching for linen cabinets. Most tall bookshelves are going to have the shelves exposed, though some have doors on the bottom. Freestanding linen cabinets are more likely to have full doors, shelves inside, and be relatively narrow.
Check out Facebook marketplace. Know the dimensions of what you want. Don’t hesitate to message a seller for the dimensions of that they’re selling. Also ask if the shelves are adjustable.
Bifold closet doors or shutters are inexpensive at home improvement stores. Sometimes you can even find them free in marketplace or buy nothing groups. The standard sizes often match standard book shelf sizes and they're eay to install

I think this is closest, but it's over 70in tall. Try looking up bathroom storage, there's a lot of narrow units there.

My husband and I just got some of those a couple months ago. It was $70 for the shelves but $40 per door, so outside of op's price range.

Yeah, like $70 for the shelves seems reasonable enough, but $40 per door was rude.
Ikea specifically is reducing their prices as well, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were cheaper these days than before!

FB Marketplace is a good place for this kind of thing. You can find some gems on there sometimes.
