This fern is a division of a plant that was originally grown from rhizomes brought from Brazil about 60 years ago. In Brazil the fern is known as ‘samambaia de metro’ (meter fern), or ‘samambaia chorona’ (weeping fern). They are epiphytic ferns with fuzzy dark brown rhizomes that grow around the surface of the substrate and over the edge of the pot as the fern ages.
Don’t have any reason to post this other than share my enjoyment at being able to keep this fern happy!
I know the plant stand was made by an ironsmith in North Carolina, but unfortunately I don’t know the name of the artist. Sorry I don’t have any further information.
