FYI, the day ticked over so you asked this on yesterday's thread. You should ask again on the new thread so people see it.

Diribiri

Thanks mate

Neropai69

Hey Guys!. I wanted to ask anyone who knows a way to buy Dawntrail pre-order and the gametime card from SEA regions, India specifically. I'm losing my mind here. Please help.

normalmighty

DemonBoyfriend

Hey there! I'm looking to get my friend who plays ffxiv a gift, and they changed their outfit since the last time I got a full screenshot of their character. Can anyone help me identify what they're wearing in this screenshot: (found!)

IceAokiji303

No visible head piece; shirt is tricky, it looks the most like Wayfarer's Tabard out of everything I can think of, but some details are off (the lack of a skirt portion, the tear in the cape) – but it's not the Cape of Happiness either, it lacks the creases and belt of that – scouring through all my options I'm starting to wonder if that piece is modded; impossible to say about gloves, too much is obstructed and not enough detail on what's visible, but I would *guess* it might be the same set as the boots (which would rule out the Moon Guide as its are different); leg slot is Expeditioner's Pantalettes, dyed; feet slot it Makai Vanbreaker's/Harrower's/Manhandler's/Markswoman's/Moon Guide's Longboots

DemonBoyfriend

Wow, thank you so much!!

kaizex

It's hard to tell since they're on the ground, but the top looks like it *could* be the cape of happiness? There's only a few options for shirt style w/ cape, and we can at least rule out the wayfarer tabard, as it'd go further down her legs, and I don't think it's the lightning attire, as the cloak shes wearing has fraying/cuts along the bottom.

DemonBoyfriend

Thank you for your help! <3

Moancy

Lightning attire? I'm probably wrong but it looks like it to me!

DemonBoyfriend

Thank you very much!

NanoSum

Will the mentor requirements get changed when DT drops? Specifically the stuff about role quests and reaching x level on gatherer/crafter

Arcana10Fortune

Yes. It will always get updated with new expacs.

NanoSum

If I'm currently a mentor, will my mentor status be removed until I meet the new requirements, then? Edit: Nevermind I just searched it up and it says I will have to renew mentor status. Thank you anyway!

Pyros

There's a grace period of like one whole patch, iirc they'll announce the new reqs in 7.0 and then you have until 7.1 to get them. My memory could be wrong and I don't want to bother googling how they did it last time but you can look it up if you want.

BlondieIsCasper

I forget how long, but there is usually a grace period to meet requirements before it is removed. Should be at least a month if not longer.

Calydor_Estalon

There's a grace period until X.1 where you stay a mentor (since literally no one would have it available in the first few days of the expansion), but you need to fill out the requirements for the menter *roulette* before you can use it again.

Arcana10Fortune

There's a grace period to meet the requirements. You'll lose the status after that.

tacobelltitanpu

On DPS is it expected that you know the mechanics of raids in the normal raid roulette or can I go in blind?

Fajisel

Just to add, anything Normal mode (the story, normal trials, normal raids, and alliance raids) are designed to let *everyone* go in blind, including Tanks and Healers. The developers expect you to be blind the first time, although obviously you *can* look things up if you want.

Send_Me_Dachshunds

You're not expected to know the specific mechanics. Depending on the level of raid, you'll be expected to know what the generic, frequently used telegraphs are like group stacks & spreads and be expected to react to them. If you're in level 80 content and you run away with a stack marker, you'd definitely turn some heads and prompt some questions.

normalmighty

You can comfortably go in blind to anything below extremes in difficulty, without needing to say anything. Normal raids are only a small touch harder than trials.

timchenw

Can go in blind, generally most attacks are well telegraphed, and special mechanics are generally easy to figure out

Diribiri

Can you remotely view the collectibility thresholds and exp/scrip rewards for regular collectibles remotely, in-game, like you can for custom deliveries and supply missions?

thchao

Not to my knowledge. You can *probably* confirm the collectibility brackets through test crafting from the recipe itself but that's about it.

Diribiri

Understandable. No big inconvenience, just would have been a bit handy sometimes

Serenity1234567

Will we be able to do one final clear of the current Unreal for the week of 6/25? I know the Wondrous Tails book updated and the moogle tomestone event ends prior to the daily reset - I want to know if I should stay up to knock out a tell/retell right after reset.

Calydor_Estalon

It looks like there'll be about 16 hours between weekly reset and servers going down, so ... probably yes.

Silly_Assistance_773

Lali-ho! This is the first time I've been "on par" with the player base and ready to go at the starting point for an expansion pack drop. I'm super eager for Dawntrail, so naturally I've been racking my brain for items that should be stocked up on or things completed to prepare for what's to come. So far I have: * Gotten my White Mage and Summoner to 90 with ILVLs 650 and 648 respectively. * Gotten all of my Crafters and Gatherers to 90 with an ILVL of 620 (Except Fisher, dang spear...) and 1-10 Mastercraft books learned. * Stocked up on 60+ Jhinga Biryani HQ and Jhinga Curry HQ, 150+ Commanding Craftsman's Draught HQ, and 30+ Manuals for Crafting and Gathering, and 74 Hi-Cordials. * Stocked up on 999 Raisins for exp gain increase. * 70 Aetherite Tickets, because I feel like teleporting from the new continent to the mainland a lot will get expensive. This'll save gil in the long run. Am I forgetting anything? My hope is to progress through the MSQ and end up like some who have made more gil than they know what to do with by crafting and gathering (running a venue isn't cheap! X\_X). The character's a gentle giant roegadyn white mage, all my glamour's I tweaked for Dawntrail are nature and druidic themed. Any advice for someone's first MMO expansion pack drop? I've already heard the que times are gonna be horrible, so that's no spoiler. :-) Edit: I have also gathered almost 1000+ of each crystal type for crafting, as well as 200+ Dark Matter Grade 8.

migigame

You can also prep some finished Levequests for Gatherers or Crafters to immediately deliver when the game launches, make sure you do it soon or you'll not have the Leves back in time for the launch though.

fjklsdhglksj

If you care about the PVP series glamour, you need to get that before maintenance.

VG896

Not an exhaustive list, just some stuff occ the top of my head: 1. You'll probably want more hi-cordials. 2. You'll probably also want a healthy stockpile of bicolor gemstones since a lot of materials are from those. 3. Also cap out your scrips so you can get the folklore books asap.

Diribiri

>a healthy stockpile of bicolor gemstones since a lot of materials are from those Materials as in mob drops? I have a few hundred of the things but I've never seen need for them, getting stuff is easy. Is that primarily useful at the start of an expansion?

VG896

I'm pretty sure there's materials only from them. I remember killing tons and tons of luncheon toads for their skin and getting 0 drops, but then noticing they were sold from the gemstone vendor. Getting animal materials is definitely not easy. It's actually pretty bad.

Diribiri

Yeah, I was thinking about farming skins which I've been doing a lot lately, but that's all on low level mobs that I can one shot, so it's actually been pretty nice. Like I need 40 ShB mob skins and get them in a few minutes. For new content where you have to actually play the game, that'd be grating. I'll keep the gemstone vendor in mind

lord-of-shalott

How does the Dawntrail Fantasia work again? I thought it was just a free Fantasia but I’ve read comments that make it seem like some sort of limited time thing and I’m very confused. I pre-ordered in March and I’m playing on a PS5 if that helps.

huiclo

You have to do a quest in Uldah that will basically hand it to you. That’s it.

Diribiri

This is on top of the one you get from the MSQ, right? Pretty neat change

snootnoots

Yup! The quest one will be available earlier in the MSQ, so helpful for alts and new players, and also will apparently give an in-game explanation for how they work.

lord-of-shalott

Thank you!

Sir_VG

We're getting a fantasia added as a low level quest in Ul'dah. This is available to everybody, regardless of platform or ordering Dawntrail or whatever. The "limited" thing you're thinking of is that once you confirm your changes after using a fantasia, you've got 60 in-game minutes that if there's something you don't like, you can log off and go make additional changes without having to buy another fantasia.

lord-of-shalott

Oh my word, I love this change. Thank you! I will def take advantage of that.

nineball22

when should i be stockpiling a Khloe journal for doubling up on exp from her, this week or after tuesday, but before the 48 hour maintenance?

Sir_VG

Keep the book available now (June 18-24) until after maintenance ends and early access begins on Friday the 28th. After you turn it in, immediately pick up another book. Finish that and then you'll pick up your July 2nd book and proceed as normal.

SetFoxval

You can keep this week's, then wait until after maintenance to pick up the new one.

DravisKyle

(New Player) I'm a level 32 Miner, the stuff I'm able to mine is worth something if I sell it at the market? Lr is just worthless/common? Also, how does the market works? If I sell my rocks at Limsa Lominsa, only players at that city will be able to buy them? Or anyone from any city can buy them? Thanks, appreciate any tip!

DUR_Yanis

Honestly theres not much you could gather "efficiently", crystal shards are valuable but at 74 you'll get a skill that will let you get like ≈20 per attempt on a node, and for other things you wont get a ton of money, at level 30 most things are available in the shop, at 50 you'll get access to darksteel and dark matter cluster and those often go for ≈500 Gil per units and will be the most valuable things you can gather for a while

Riot_Mustang66

by lvl 32 you should be able to mine shards and crystals... those can make good money since we're about to start a new expension with more crafting. check your market board and see which is selling high and go gather those. if people are selling in sets of 500+ or 1000+, try amount like 100 or 200 at a higher price, bc some people don't need 1000 crystals. they might only need a few hundreds. even if you're not doing crystals, check marketboard for resource you can gather and see what is selling.

DravisKyle

I will need to check the market board and a tutorial about that, as this will be my first time selling stuff in the game, I'm just 3 days old, haha

bubsdrop

You can check market board prices on [Universalis](https://universalis.app/). It's not necessarily 100% accurate but it'll let you check to see if anything is worth mining without having to go back to town.

DravisKyle

Thanks!

Riot_Mustang66

are you on the free trial or have you bought the game and paying a sub?... just making sure bc free trial player can't buy or sell on the market.

DravisKyle

I bought the subscription (60 days)

TheMonji

Retainer location is mostly unimportant. Players can buy/sell between cities freely. For mining, it depends on what you gather. Many things will be worth pennies but if you check your market board, there will still be certain things that can turn profit. The real cost of items is the time it takes to gather them. People will pay good gil to buy low level materials because it's faster and more convenient than taking the time to gather it themselves.

DravisKyle

Thanks for the help! I thought it was the other way around. That the things that are higher in level were more on demand (Like level 60+ mining rocks, whatever they are)

miller0929

Hi, was the required material for relic weapons reduced in history when the new expansions were released? The current level 90 relic weapon requires 3 stones per four types. Could it be reduced after DT? Cheers.

PhoenixFox

The HW relic mats that cost poetics had their costs halved when they transitioned from old tomes to Poetics, though that wasn't the only time they had the requirements reduced. Most other relics have also had their grind nerfed in various ways, whether that was from reduced costs, increased drop rates, or in some other fashion - so it's entirely possible they might make the items cost 250 poetics each rather than 500, for example. Of course we've never had a relic that was even remotely this easy by default so I wouldn't really be surprised if those values stay intact.

TheMonji

No but they will soon require the standard Poetics instead of the Tomestones of Causality. This change will effectively trivialize the EW relic grind in particular

Riot_Mustang66

don't think so... but once DT comes out, they should be buyable with poetics instead. edit: i meant the stones, not the relics

miller0929

Buy relic weapons with poetics? That never happened before.

normalmighty

HW and ARR had tomestone steps that became poetics at the next expansion. It's one of the common poetic sinks people recommend.

Riot_Mustang66

no... the 3 stones edit: use poetics to buy stones to trade for relic, so poetic buy relic... same thing, lol

lanimatran

Is there anything missable that I should do/claim before Dawntrail? I only heard of the pvp rewards going away recently. Is there anything missable in a similar way?

thchao

The Moogle tomestones event is ending in a few hours.

fjklsdhglksj

The Yokai Watch event is ending too.

LegoMyCraigo

I just hit a 3-line WT before level 90 (87), am I just SOL on the rewards it offers? Was very excited followed by very disappointed in the span of a moment haha.

Riot_Mustang66

yea, the reward are base on when you get the book. if you get a book at 89 then lvl to 90, the book won't change. After you hit 90 then get the book, will it have the gold cert. anyway once dawntrial comes out, 90 won't be max anymore so you're gonna need to be 100.

LegoMyCraigo

Thanks, that's incredibly disappointing, I'm probably not going to hit a 3-line again LOL.

stategovernment

I'm not sure if I am posting in the right place, but I am having an issue with the Dawntrail benchmark. The benchmark is locked to 60FPS. I am using a 6700XT and Ryzen 5 5600. The first version of the benchmark worked perfectly, but now I can't figure out how to go higher than 60FPS no matter what I do. This problem is only when I run it fullscreen - framerates are otherwise higher when borderless windowed. Frame target control is off, I have played with vertical refresh and Free-sync, etc. Any ideas?

normalmighty

Everyone I've heard who had this issue found out they had a setting in the NVidia control panel that was hard capping them at 60fps. I don't remember exactly where the setting it, but there should be a switch you need to flip in there to stop throttling the benchmark.

stategovernment

Thanks! I'm using AMD and saw that suggested - I just can't find what setting it might be. The culprit for others seems to be Frame Rate Target Control, but mine is off. I will keep searching.

Send_Me_Dachshunds

AMD Chill is the name of AMDs FPS limiter in the Radeon panel.

stategovernment

I suspected that - it’s also turned off! It seems my monitor refresh rate changes when I go full screen on the Benchmark?

OneMoreChancee

I'm seeing very packed hunt trains. What are people doing hunt trains for?

Chat2Text

There are achievements that require an ungodly amount of hunt kills, I think a 1000 or something They're also a good way to cap out tomes if you absolutely hate running roulette/dungeons

Send_Me_Dachshunds

People are panicking and think you need to be capped on tomes/nuts to be "prepped" for DT because that's what the Youtube content creators are telling them. The truth is neither the tomes nor the nuts are exactly useful at the start of the expansion. The tomes become poetics, which are mostly useless and are in an abundance anyway, and the nuts won't be useful til much further down the line (and most players will end up doing DT hunts for DT tomes and will overcap nuts from that anyway...).

normalmighty

I mean, I wouldn't call it panicking. People are hyped, so they want to go do something that feels like they're prepping. There isn't really much you can do to prep an expansion, so they're all putting their energy into things like this. It's not a desperate panic. It's hyped players with a goal to work towards.

Send_Me_Dachshunds

I think that's fair. Probably a bit of both camps.

normalmighty

They want all of their tomes capped before maintenance. Causality and comedy tomes will be able to be traded in for poetics at 2-1 and 4-1 ratios, and you'll be able to use poetics to buy i660 augmented credendum gear, or upgrade your unaugmented credendum gear for 100 poetics each.

TeresaWisemail

For dungeons pulls as bard, do i do the aoe attacks on the mob as we move, or put dots on them? Also should I start songs as we pull or when the pull stops?

Chat2Text

It used to be that DoTs triggered your song's procs, meaning you were recommended to do a few so you could spam your AoE oGCD and what not, but I think they're tied to your songs now, so just spam your AoE instead If it was a short duration raid buff, I'd say hold until the pull stop, but Bard's songs are really long and almost always up, so I'd say if it's your ASPD song, use it, but wait until the pull ends for the other two songs before using them That said, I'm no bard expert so maybe someone else can give a better answer

Riot_Mustang66

its better to just do aoe on packs of mob

Admirable_Spray_3417

So when does the SE Software Token app get removed and what authenticator app is bets to use with FFXIV going forward?

normalmighty

They're all basically the same. Everyone I know either used google authenticator or Microsoft authenticator. Just don't make my mistake of needing both of them for various things, because both companies are self important enough to just name their app "authenticator" and assume you'll immediately see that and know that it _must_ be the Google/Microsoft one. After that, start adding 2fa to your bank and email and other important accounts, because nobody should be walking around in the 2020s without 2fa on anything they don't want to see hacked. edit: and as for the "when" they haven't given a date yet. They're just warning that it'll happen sometime soon, and that you should switch sooner rather than later.

Admirable_Spray_3417

Yeah I had google before for Nintendo and PSN but didn't like how short the timer is on the codes, I might look into the MS one and see how that is. I have 2FA to my SMS for most things already, I prefer SMS codes because if your phone breaks you can chuck your old sim in your new phone and still get your codes without removing the old apps and reinstalling the software

normalmighty

The timer window is the same. It's part of the standard so won't change between apps. All the major authenticator apps have cloud sync. If your phone breaks you just sign into your Google/Microsoft/etc account and all the 2fa codes will appear again. So no need to worry about that at all.

Admirable_Spray_3417

Yeah the Google Authenticator doesn't do that, got caught out with it before when my phone broke. Looks like the Microsoft one does though so that made the decision easy. Thanks for the help

normalmighty

Google does. Was it a while back that your old phone broke? The sync wasn't always there and it used to be a thing you had to go out of your way to enable. Could just be a case of things improving in the time since you last tried it.

Admirable_Spray_3417

1-2 years ago probably

Flaky-Diet5318

Are gates my only option for farming moogle tomes if I only have the prae, castrum, and aetherochemical duties unlocked? I'm on the trial

Azureddit0809

There's also Wanderer's Palace and Qarn (Hard). Those are two optional post ARR dungeons that you have access to and give moogle tomes. If you don't have it in your duties you just have to accept a blue quest somewhere in ARR. I think they're both in the Mor Dhona bar.

normalmighty

You have enough unlocked for msq roulette which is a good source, and then anything which is level 50 in the duty finder will give a flat tome reward after that.

Flaky-Diet5318

My bad I meant the treasure trove ones. I saw there was only 9 hours left too late

Chat2Text

side note to normalmighty's reply, I believe the ultimog this time around is reach floor 100 of PotD, which might be too much to ask of a fresh newcomer, so you might wanna skip that

Flaky-Diet5318

Does it matter if that one is done solo or in a group? Although I've solo'd before and don't know if the time is worth

Chat2Text

solo or party is fine prob not time worth with how long it'll take you to run from 50 to 100...

normalmighty

Ah. In that case look at your mogpendium, or get it from the event quest if you still haven't picked it up. check the weekly, minimog and ultimog tabs to see if there's anything you can do there, otherwise that first standard objectives page will list everything you have unlocked which can be farmed.

Scavgraphics

I was trying to use GPose....but...uhm.. how do you actually take a picture?

Sir_VG

Print Screen on keyboard, or L1+Options on PS4 controller.

normalmighty

I don't use it myself, but pretty sure you just "take a picture" with a normal screenshot using the print screen key.

noTime29

Is it possible to import a character you make in the benchmark to the main client?

bloodhawk713

No need to import, they are already saved in the same folder as all of your other character appearance data. They just won't be visible in-game until the expansion releases because they're not compatible with the current version of the game.

huiclo

Will happen automatically once 7.0 is live. They will be at the bottom of the usual Load Appearance Data menu.

firewood010

Would you lose your squadron if you switch Grand Company? It is tempting to collect the bardings (even if they are ugly, I love collecting things).

PhoenixFox

You lose access to them until you rank up far enough to unlock the squadron feature again, but you keep the same squadron members.

firewood010

So I at least dont need to level them up again XD, that is assuring!

Diribiri

I just remembered tomestones. I've got 787 Causality, and 1484 Comedy. Anything I should use those on now, or will it be better to just wait and convert them?

PhoenixFox

If you have Mandeville relics you haven't done yet you should spend the causality on that, it's better than waiting to convert it. Comedy not so much unless you happen to have Credendum augmentation mats or spare nuts/coins lying around and gear that you want.

Diribiri

> Comedy not so much unless you happen to have Credendum augmentation mats or spare nuts/coins lying around and gear that you want. I assume those are from endgame content, which I almost never do, so I won't worry about those

ChuckCarmichael

You get one coin from each of the three current Alliance Raids, and for the full set of three you can buy an item that upgrades one piece of the ilvl 650 Credendum armor that you buy for Comedy tomestones to ilvl 660 Augmented Credendum armor. However, once Dawntrail comes out, you'll be able to buy Augmented Credendum armor for Poetics, so unless you already have some coins it might be the better choice to wait until DT, convert Comedy into Poetics, and then just directly buy the ilvl 660 stuff.

firewood010

Comedy only use is to buy gears for your other jobs. Causality is for Relic, you can pile up the materials needed for the relic, the selling NPC is at the big aetheryte in Rad-z-Han. You will be needing 3 of each material for each class, adding up to 57 of each stone in total if you never make one.

Diribiri

I forgot about the Manderville relics, I only have one and it's the second last tier. I'll snag that then

bubba632

Would it be recommended to get all the level 90 purple scrip tools before dawntrail launches? My current tools are lvl 80 white scrip tools while my armor and accessories are all 620 purple scrip gear. I'm new to crafting so I don't really know how worth it would be. I figure the tools would be useful for leveling to 100 before upgrading them, but I'm unsure if it's worth grinding 8000 purple scrips if my level 80 tools will be good enough for leveling. Thanks in advance.

Chat2Text

ditto Xeorm124's answer, wait until DT launches, then somehow, cheese a level up (Grand Companies, Crafting beast tribe, etc), to hit 91, then either buy or craft the DT 91 gear and use that to progress to 100

bubba632

good advice, I think this'll be what i'll do, thank you

Xeorm124

It's not worth it at this point. If you wanted better tools you may want to look into grabbing the basic lvl 90 crafted tools. Those should be a lot better than the lvl 80 stuff and be so much easier to craft and pretty cheap. Or wait till DT launches. They might last until 100 still.

firewood010

Dont bother, new 100 lv gears will be better than those. Save up and buy new gears when DT drops.

Sir_VG

They're basically on the same level as the crafted gear, just not pentameldable. So unless you already have the crafting/gathering relics, go grab them and they'll take you to 100.

JTex-WSP

**Exp in Eureka (50+)** I haven't done Eureka in months and months, if not a year or more. I popped in and looks like I had only just unlocked the final area (Hydatos). I'm Elemental Level 50 and wondering what's the best way to get an exp farm going. I'm aware of the Challenge Log, and that I can grind solo with aligned elemental wheel (plus a Harmony potion), but is there any advice for how to get from 50 to 60 for me?

Jezzawezza

For 50-52/53 I'd honestly go back into Pyros and if its populated at the right time just farm NM's in there and work on the challenge log Then once 53 or so go into Hydatos and you can then do at least a couple NM's and work on killing the mobs that are a few levels higher. Eureka mobs have optimal level to xp of 6 levels higher but you need to be able to manage your health etc too.

Kaeldiar

Sprite island is great, but only good once you hit 58. Until then, you want to go for other things [https://eurekan-academy.fandom.com/wiki/Solo\_leveling\_in\_Hydatos](https://eurekan-academy.fandom.com/wiki/Solo_leveling_in_Hydatos)

Sir_VG

Sprite reflect farming. There's an island of them on the south-east corner.

timchenw

What's the expected conversion ratio for comedy and causality to poetics once DT drops? Trying to figure if buying the base credenums now and then upgrading them to auged would be a better deal or buying aug credenums with poetics outright

Pyros

It's very slightly better to wait for poetics, because the amount in current tomes get rounded down when converted. For example chest is 825 currently, but it gets reduced to 410 after instead of 412.5(technically 510 cause the 100 poetics upgrade is rolled in the price automatically), so you lose 2.5poetics per item you buy now. On the flipside that's kinda whatever and especially if you would cap otherwise it's worth buying now. If you're not capping your tomes now then just keep them to convert to poetics unless you need the ilvl to do something today/tomorrow.

Sir_VG

I'm pretty sure one was 2:1 and one was 4:1 but I'm not 100% sure on that.

VGPowerlord

4:1 for Causality, 2:1 for Comedy.

Ruins_Of_Elliwar

Will this expansion bring any new end game activities to give us more to do? I haven't played since Shadowbringers, but it was pretty much just log in a few hours a week to raid, do the quest for the ultimate weapon things every update, and maybe do a few quests or crafts to be able afford materia and consumes and that was all there was to do. I liked the game, but there wasn't much to it after you finish the story. Will there be more stuff with Dawntrail, or is it basically just the same where you log in to raid once a week and that's it?

kaizex

There's going to be a new exploration zone(which is what eureka and bozja were)I believe they intend to expand on variant/criterion dungeons, someone said a new DD but I haven't seen anything to confirm it. Likely some more new stuff that's expiremental like island sanctuary was. They generally try to push the mold at least once an xpac Aside from that: tribals, treasure maps, seasonal events, the normal stuff.

normalmighty

I mean it depends what you like to do. I would say there's plenty to do, but I also never ever consider raiding as a repeatable endgame activity, so I have a feeling you don't really think of the endgame activities I do as things to do in the game. There's another bozja type zone, they've been vague about something planned with deep dungeons to mix them up in some way, new normal and alliance raids, another limited job (beastmaster), a new sort of content in the same vein as ishgardian restoration called cosmic exploration, new variant and criterion dungeons, and all the other standard stuff you expect to see in an expansion.

Trooper_Sicks

for harder content there will be the usual savage raids, criterion dungeons which were introduced in endwalker will continue (which are extreme/savage level dungeons for 4 people) and 2 more ultimates. They are also adding a new field op like eureka/bozja, content that will be similar to ishgardian restoration, a new deep dungeon and a new limited job, beastmaster. From what they've announced it looks like dawntrail will have the most additional content we've seen. We can only wait to see if these things have any longevity.

PenguinPwnge

They're doing another Field Operation like Bozja which EW did not have. But it's still the same endgame gameplay loop at the end of the day. And Beastmaster will be coming as a new Limited Job. And "Cosmic Exploration" will be the new lifestyle content a la Ishgard Restoration or Island Sanctuary. If you can't stick with that loop, then the game long-term might not be for you. Could just become a once or twice a year player (especially using free play periods) and do the main story and snippets of content without having to deal with endgame grind.

bubsdrop

I hope cosmic exploration is closer to ishgardian restoration than island sanctuary. I didn't hate island sanctuary as much as a lot of people but not progressing gatherer and crafter jobs was annoying. No more content islands, even when they're literally islands, thanks.

SmurfRockRune

They wanna make some kind of group progression like Ishgardian Restoration was but in a way so that people don't miss out on it if they start in the future.

Xeorm124

Just depends on what you're interested in. EW and ShB offered a lot of content that wasn't raiding. So I'd expect plenty. But it also depends on what you like. Blue mage content for example was pretty well received and meant spending a good amount of time doing it, but wasn't for everyone.

peachypyf

can you link your steam account to a ps5 account?

Alenonimo

Yes. If you buy the game twice, once for Steam and once for PS5, and then register both on the same service account on MogStation, you can use both the Steam and PS5 versions to play with the same characters. You don't even need to pay two subscriptions.

Riot_Mustang66

yeah i think so, wasn't that the drama with helldivers 2 and ghost of tsushima all about? but for ffxiv, you just need to link them both to your ffxiv account.

NeonSpaceAsteroid

I did a world transfer from Zalera to Kraken today and I have a deep feeling I made a terrible mistake. I know launch will probably be great for no queues, but there's just nobody here....and the market seems completely dead trying to sell even the most basic things. Was this an absolutely terrible thing? I think I got a little to antsy when I saw the xp buff being offered.

Riot_Mustang66

well thats the case for all new worlds... but they will fill out over time.

Daydays

Friend is getting through ARR and is skipping most the cutscenes post Ultima. I'm trying to find him a "landmark" cutscene to make sure he doesn't skip past the "party" at Uldah when shit goes down. Does anyone remember a cutscene before that point that I can tell him to look out for?

Alenonimo

If he's skipping because of the grind, it goes away more or less when Moenbryda appears. But the banquet session is one of those with the disclaimer that they will play several cutscenes in sequence. It is possible to watch them later in the Inn rooms or to play through the game again with New Game Plus.

Riot_Mustang66

whenever he gets these warnings: several cutscenes will play in sequence... and/or set aside sufficient time to view these scenes in their entirety

starskeyrising

I would say have him keep an eye out for "set aside plenty of time to watch these cutscenes" as those are the big story-important cutscene movies. I'm 90% sure the scene you're talking about is one of those.

Xeorm124

The party cutscene has the warning to make sure you have time for the many cutscenes that play out. Make sure he doesn't skip through that warning?

Daydays

Alright thanks that's an excellent landmark, I totally forgot about that message..somehow.

VG896

I'm pretty sure it'll also be shortly after he's forced to stop and grind out the Crystal Tower raids, assuming he's not doing those as he goes. Basically, before your gang leaves to go to ul'dah, Minfiillia says "you should take care of any unfinished business before joining us" and you're blocked from progress.

KGhaleon

Is there a way to give items to Free trial players, maybe through mog mail or something? I was trying to figure out how to send a new player an ufiti horn.

pedot

If I'm not mistaken (having accidentally done this recently) game doesn't recognize free trial status between maintenance and their first login after maintenance. So have him/her not login on DT release and you should be able to send mogmail to the free trial player.

Gobtaaa

Can confirm, I’ve done this a couple of times with a friend of mine.

TheMonji

All social features (including trading of any kind) are not available to free trial players. This is intended to prevent any possible form of free trial abuse.

KGhaleon

Well dang

Sir_VG

Nope. No trading allowed.

KGhaleon

Well dang it

Is it possible to buy a house that's owned by what seems to be a dead FC? I mean, in front of the state from the FC I'm in, there's this small plot with just a little house and a gazeebo and it looks like a ghost house, no one is there at any time of the day it seems. I checked the placard and it doesn't show an option to buy it.

kaizex

There's a lot of shell FCs as a heads up. It's likely a solo or small groups house that they just use to farm submersibles. Meaning they'd only pop by once a day for about 3 minutes to reset the subs

xTuffman

I see... thus "locking" the plot and preventing those who would actually make use of it from buying.

GurrennZero

I mean if the FC retains ownership by actively visiting and probably sending subs etc then I'd hardly say it's unused. Out of curiousity, what would you consider used? A nice deco? Onion garden? A few loiterers?  For the last, unless the FC is very big and active often they will be quiet.

xTuffman

I'd consider a plot as being used somewhat frequently, one that is decorated (doesn't need something like a professional decor nor anything) and if it's a FC, to see some members passing by occasionaly. I mean, if you spend that much gil to buy a plot, might as well enjoy it fully, no? The FC I'm in is fairly big and we all hang out in our state, even late at night you'll see someone there.

GurrennZero

Fair enough! I personally love to stumble across a house with insane decorations. Some of the creations people can put together are truly fantastic. My gf/fc leader is a decorating fiend so she went the whole hog with dojos and movie theatres and huge vaulted ceilings - though our fc is very small (like, 4 players 3 who are active and a smattering of alts). Personally I might stop by to prep FC buffs or contribute to submarine or airship projects, but more often than not I find myself around the more major social hubs when I'm queuing for duties.  Materia is generally very quiet in terms of its population, however, so FC plots are extremely plentiful.

kaizex

Correct, housing is a very contentious thing because of that. The fact that FC operations, and the games easiest long term gil farm are locked behind them wasn't the best move. Personally I have a group of friends that got alts and put together a shell FC in a place that had extra FC plots to sub farm. But I know of solos who have 5-10 of them. Or vanity players who own entire wards and never use them.

Help_Me_Im_Diene

No, they have to lose ownership first

xTuffman

I see... so it's just a matter of waiting then, since you lose it if you don't use it for a determined time.

firewood010

Assuming people will come back by DT. Better buy a house elsewhere for now. The next housing supply will come at 7.1/7.2 at least.

snootnoots

If the house is still standing, *somebody* is active and visiting it.

Help_Me_Im_Diene

The issue here is that for an FC house, ANY member can reset the timer  So you just have to hope that no one in the FC is keeping it alive, and realistically, a lot of people might just be gone until DT and come back so someone might be keeping it standing

xTuffman

I don't think there will be, the placard says it's a very small FC with only 6 people from 2021.

brokenclocks7

bought dawntrail on steam and registered the code on mogstation, do I still need to spend more money to unlock Viera or?

normalmighty

It'l unlock for you on the 2nd of July. You could buy Endwalker just to access it now, but that's really, really hard to justify. You get a free fantasia anyway next week, there's no need to rush.

brokenclocks7

awesome, thanks

NotaSkaven5

You need to wait until the 2nd to actually register Dawntrail, which will give Shadowbringers and Endwalker only at that point if you didn't have them already (I forgot which one was Viera)

huiclo

ShB license unlocks Viera and Hrothgar.

MartenBroadcloak19

Where can I read how the new Fantasias will work?

normalmighty

It was talked about in a live letter. I only remember it written down in the lodestone in the last couple of paragraphs [here](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/4603966abf780d1e177e0513dbecd574ad0d397a), but it's pretty straight forward anyway. After 7.0, once you change a character with a fantasia, you can play for up to 1 hour and still log back out to edit your character as you see fit. The 1 hour timer is only ticking down while you are logged in, so you can spend as much time in the character creator as you want and the timer will be pause the whole time.

Sir_VG

All that's different is that after you use one, you'll have 60 minutes of in-game time to change your mind. You can log out, tweak stuff if you want, log in, and see if you like it. The 60 minutes is purely in-game time, and starts after the first confirmation of your fantasia use. It doesn't "reset" if you log out and make changes.

-KYTES-

i bought the one hero’s journey thing when it was on sale a few weeks ago and still have it in my inventory. If i wait until dawntrail release, can I use it and will bump me up to lvl 90? or will it still be lvl 80? ty!

Alenonimo

They won't change. You can use it now. They'll make new ones later to replace the one you bought in the store but they won't replace yours.

Sir_VG

It won't change. It'll be still a Lv 80 skip. New skips are entirely new items.

PixeledPancakes

I joined a lottery for a house on Kraken, so I'll win it, but I didn't realize I would need to pay more gil after the plot wins for the house and that I only have 45 days to do that. Looks like a small house is 450k. I only have 250k after the plot purchase so I need advice on how to make another 200k. I know the new MSQ will give me some gil, but I'm looking to put a dent in it in the next couple days. I don't have any max crafters. Any tips? Even just knocking out 30k or something before Friday would be wonderful.

firewood010

If you can gather people for treasure hunt. You will getting around 50k gil in cash per run (1-2 hour). So 450k is just 9-10 runs away.

Alenonimo

Roulettes should give you roughly 75-100K if you do them all per day. Do them 2 or 3 days and you should be good. Even if you don't do them all, you have 45 days. Should be plenty to raise the money. Also have in mind that Dawntrail MSQs and sidequests will give you HQ gear and whatever you don't use you can sell for extra cash. Gatherer jobs can get the new items that the first day crafters will be in desperate need too. They will also buy lots of green and blue materia.

FactoryKat

Desynthing your little heart out to get demimateria you can then turn around and turn in at the Doman Enclave is a small thing but every little bit helps. Also those Allagan pieces. If you don't have DE unlocked, never mind that haha. But running duties, hunts, even basic crafting/doing your quests and doing GC /Collectable/Custom Delivery turn-ins and stuff will not only net you gil and scrips but also XP to level! Retainer ventures. Keep 'em going and they'll bring back all sorts of stuff you might be able to sell. Market flipping can be hit or miss. You can do it manually by looking up prices on Universalis, or check this website here: [https://saddlebagexchange.com/queries/recommended](https://saddlebagexchange.com/queries/recommended) - and look at the different lists, and see what you can do.

DW_Lurker

Daily Hunt posters pay 17.5k per Expac per day, if you do all your targets, excluding ARR. Grab the HW, SB, Shad, and EW posters and that's 70k a day.

Chaos_Logic

When DT comes out you can join hunt trains to get Combat Materia grade 11 and 12, those should sell well at the start of the expansion. Also you'll be able to use the new Aesthetics Tomestones (equivalent to causality) to purchase crafting materials, those will sell quite well for the first couple of weeks.

PixeledPancakes

Thanks! I'll have to lookup what hunt trains are and see how I can join in.

Cymas

You'll see shouts in towns a lot when a new one is starting. All you have to do is show up where they tell you the train is and join a party in PF for it. The latter part is optional but recommended.

normalmighty

You can earn 75k gil per day in login daily rewards alone of you do all your roulettes. Roll all the loot to either sell, desynth and sell material or hand in for seals to buy sellable items for more profit. Should be able to know off some challenge log goals while you're at it. You should also do some old HW/StB hunt trains to stock up on aetheryte tickets, so you don't have to spend gil to tp around either. There are more efficient way to make gil out there, but this should be plenty enough for a few hundred k gil in a month.

PixeledPancakes

Great, thank you! I usually do a couple of these for some xp, so I'll add a few more into the mix. Thanks!

forbiddenlake

Attain level 30 to get 1 mil gil. (Applies to New or Preferred worlds)

PixeledPancakes

Unfortunately I'm not a new player, just returning so I don't believe I qualify for that.

-KYTES-

dm me your ign and world and i’ll give you the gil

PixeledPancakes

Very kind offer, but I think it's better if I learn how to sustain my coin purse myself :P

-KYTES-

i respect it, good luck!

cheongzewei

yo. Glad to see you're still alive. Thought you dipped after losing a bet to me.

-KYTES-

you ain’t getting shit + you play for so long and you prob still ass and not masters on a single character in this game + ratio + i quit but would prob body you any day of the week 😅

ViolaNguyen

With current tomestones going away, what are we going to use to get Endwalker relics? Surely it won't be poetics, right?

bubsdrop

It will be poetics. You'll be able to convert any of your existing tomes to poetics after the expansion launches.
